With Storm Warning, Ms. Dalton continues the story of Elain Pardie, a television news reporter and the three shapeshifter triplets that she has come to care for, characters the author first introduced in the first book of the series. As she tries to adjust to her new relationship with the three brothers, Elain learns that Aindreas has broken her trust and has no intentions of allowing her to continue with her job as a reporter. Hurt by what she sees as a betrayal, Elain flees her new home hurting all three of the brothers. Ms. Dalton does a wonderful job at creating characters that you can care about. The touching bond and relationship between Elain and the brothers made me truly care about each of them and what was happening. I ached for each of the characters and the pain that they went through. Elain has a lot to adjust to and learn about her new mates and I could easily understand her misgivings and fears. But I loved the brothers and couldn’t help but fall a little for each one as they are fascinating characters. Each character has such a distinct personality that it is interesting to watch them come together and interact with one another. It was interesting to watch their relationship develop further and I loved the banter between them all.
I also enjoyed the various twists to the story and thought the impending hurricane as well as Ain’s disappearance was a great touch as it added some danger and a bit of suspense to the story as you wondered what was going to happen to the missing Ain as well as the others.
The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger as there are some new revelations regarding Elain and her past and I can hardly wait to see what is going to happen next with this fascinating family! As I said, with its great characters and absorbing story, this book is a great addition to a wonderful series and I definitely recommend it!
