I have been to New Orleans once in my life and I was very young. As an adult I want go and see how life is in this very heated and exciting place. I read many books that depict New Orleans as a hubbub of pleasures and dangers. I can emagin spring there would be intertwined with many new and fascinating things. visually it is probably a sight of many rebirths that could hold your attention much longer than what welcomes you daily.
I have always wanted to see New Orleans. It has such an amazing history.

Love your observations about spring and Mardi Gras. In NYC spring creeps out slowly then seems to burst on the scene decorating the gray of the city with glowing yellows, pinks and green.
We don’t have the same hedonistic celebration here, at least not in the streets. But we do have an awakening of spirits of all sorts as the drab iciness of winter melts away and people romp in the park and arise from their winter lethargy.
Great post, Xavier!
I went one time to New Orleans, not during Mardi Gras but the experience was definitely unique!

Hi Xavier,
I love New Orleans. I go so much I don’t even consider myself a tourist anymore. I’m a seasonal local. Some of the store owners now me because I visit so much.
Your right, Na’Orleans has it’s own special magic. It’s high energy leaves you with a sense of awe. Most people is drawn to it like a moth to a flame.
Bourbon street is it’s own world in it’s self.
When I’m there I have my regular spots I hangout Cafe De Monde every morning for my coffee & beignets, Jackson Square, I love and just sit & read and watch the people, and at night I hangout at the Dungeon since I’m such a vamp. I never get tired of that city.

I’ve never been to New Orleans but I have always wanted to. I love cajun/creole food so I think I would indulge in dining out when I ever go there.
