Reviewed by PeppermintTy has been hurt by life and has sworn off relationships, but his curiosity is piqued by a motorcycle-riding hunk who comes through his Wal-Mart line and buys the same thing day after day: two Slim Jims, a sixty-four count box of crayons and Cracker Jacks. Ty’s curiosity gets the better of him and he goes out with Jonah, but Ty’s best friend, Lucky, is sure Jonah is bad news, and it does seem that both mens’ pasts threaten their future together. Will they find a second chance with one another?
A daily regimen of a sixty-four-count box of crayons, two Slim Jims and a box of Cracker Jacks is what brought them together. Although Ty’s co-worker and BFF Lucky thought the strange man who bought these items every day must be a pedophile, Ty knew there had to be more than what met the eye. His decision had nothing to do with the fact that every time he saw the guy he couldn’t help but imagine him naked. Or did it?
What I really enjoyed was the way Jonah was so misunderstood. I mean a man who buys a box of crayons and snacks every day does seem a bit odd. Especially when that man is huge with tattoos all over his body. Luckily, Ty was able to look past what appeared to be strange behavior and see that Jonah may actually be a good guy.
I liked the fact that both Ty and Jonah had tragedy in their background. Neither felt comfortable moving on with their lives because those tragedies still left them feeling emotionally damaged. It seemed as though if they both could not sympathize with the way the other felt they may not have bonded so quickly. It gave them a common ground and, in the end, enabled both of them to be able to move on — hopefully to be together for a long time.
The sex scenes between these guys didn’t hold anything back, either. They were hot and heavy just the way I like them. That, coupled with this author’s style, is why I have given this story 5 cherries.
