The rules of the game are simple: the man pursues until the woman catches.

Love and Friendship, Book 3

Think finding the perfect lover is difficult? Ask Susan Webb—she knows it is. Lonely, tired of dull routine and dud men who only think with their lower brains, she takes a calculated risk to shake up her lackluster life.

Now she’s set to take part in a reality dating show. Her objective: to find a good, honest man who’s up for enjoying lots of sexy fun on the road to love. Failure is not an option.

One look at his older brother’s Farmer Wants a Wife candidate, and Tyler Penrith is intrigued. Prim and proper on the surface, she has a secret smile in her eyes and an exotic dancer sway to her step. And calamity follows her around like a tame dragon.

Susan might be in his brother’s age group, but Tyler’s not about to let Nolan waltz off with the first woman to snare his attention in ages.

As the show’s ratings go through the roof, Susan finds herself falling for the wrong man—and her simple plan for happiness on the brink of falling apart.

Ms. Munro did the unexpected. I assumed I knew who the story was going to be about but I was wrong. I’m still amazed at the book’s turn but it’s perfect in so many ways.

The premise uses a popular television format to showcase the development of the plot conflict. Reality T.V. shows seem to be all the rage these days and it comes as no surprise that they’d be used to introduce men and women to each other. But what if the person introduced isn’t the one getting the girl or guy but someone in the background? How would that come about? And how would that affect the show?

Good questions, all. I was perfectly ready to accept Nolan as the hero of the story. He seemed ideal – a smug man who enjoyed naughty teasing but who needed to be taken down a peg. That’s my initial impression. What I got was a whole other man with a lot of unexpected baggage that was none of his doing. His problem was that he didn’t fight it hard enough. But, after a certain revelation, he stepped up to the plate in one arena, and in another I believe the author set the hook for her next book. And if so, I’ll read it, if only to see a certain someone get the stick out of her bum. Man, what a witch!

The bridge between the two men is Susan, the heroine. She is looking for love in the right wrong place. Or is it the wrong right place? Honest, that makes a lot more sense after reading the book. Susan is a pleasant surprise. She stands up for herself, even when it hurts. And yes, there is a good solid internal conflict to deal with and it works.

The second man is Tyler. My first impression of him was a scrawny shadow of Nolan. I was happily wrong on that count too. He turns out to be a man who knows his own mind, has learned from his mistakes and is willing to do the right thing for the love of his life even though it causes him pain. His strength of character is impressive. For readers who enjoy the steamier side of romance with the bedroom door flung open wide and the roof ripped off so you get a full view, Farmer Wants a Wife provides further proof that Tyler knows how to make a woman moan, sigh and blast off to the stars, even over the phone.

The scene with Mr. Blue caused quite a bit of mirth. I never knew about the history so Susan’s dialogue at that juncture was delightfully full of spit and vinegar. I enjoyed it when she removed her inner filter and let things fly.

External conflict, being videotaped notwithstanding, comes from another female. She was such a prune and I don’t care how a child came to be in this world, no one should take it out on an innocent kid. So as far as I’m concerned, she’s the villain of the piece.

The relationship between Tyler and Susan was pleasant to watch grow as they navigate falling in love while trying to avoid being caught on camera. The resolving of a few road blocks to complete the happy ever after came across as too perfect, too easy and too fairy tale ending-ish. Even saying that doesn’t detract from the beauty and fun that is at the heart of this novel; it’s still a fun book.

Farmer Wants a Wife is an entertaining, sexy romance and an easy read. This might be the third book in the series but it’s a solid standalone. I say this with assurance because I have not read books one and two. There is no shortage of fun, great dialogue and interesting encounters in this tale. If a reader is tired of books with heavy and dark drama, this novel is a real pick-me-up and is totally delightful. Ms. Munro always delivers great romance.

WHEN A MASKED MAN . . .

Twenty years ago Maximus Batten witnessed the brutal murders of his parents. Now the autocratic Duke of Wakefield, he spends his days ruling Parliament. But by night, disguised as the Ghost of St. Giles, he prowls the grim alleys of St. Giles, ever on the hunt for the murderer. One night he finds a fiery woman who meets him toe-to-toe—and won’t back down . . .

MEETS HIS MATCH . . .

Artemis Greaves toils as a lady’s companion, but hiding beneath the plain brown serge of her dress is the heart of a huntress. When the Ghost of St. Giles rescues her from footpads, she recognizes a kindred spirit-and is intrigued. She’s even more intrigued when she realizes who exactly the notorious Ghost is by day . . .

Artemis makes a bold move: she demands that Maximus use his influence to free her imprisoned brother-or she will expose him as the Ghost. But blackmailing a powerful duke isn’t without risks. Now that she has the tiger by the tail, can she withstand his ire-or the temptation of his embrace?

The Duke of Midnight certainly starts off with a clever and unusual twist with me never suspecting that I was actually watching the future hero and heroine meet. It was adventurous, slightly out of the ordinary and it immediately showcased that the heroine isn’t fresh from the school room and the hero has a dark secret. The start of the novel is promising and I’m happy to say it carries forth for the rest of the book.

I liked the dynamics between Artemis and Maximus, the Duke of Wakefield. I enjoyed their banter, their slow and unusual courtship and how they eventually came to grips with their feelings for each other. She was first to admit it, he was last. Figures. Her realization that she loves the hero is a bittersweet thing and it prompts her to make some hard and emotional choices. Artemis’ decision isn’t a grand gesture but it’s heartfelt and a reader sees that clearly. Maximus on the other hand, and being a man, needs a rather dramatic and suspenseful act to get him to take that final step to let go of the past and grab for his future. The sort of droll, matter-of-fact dialogue that occurs between some secondary characters after the action had me laughing. It was just so … conversational and understated, I giggled.

I guess this is a long series in the making, the sixth book I believe. I have not read any of the previous books so I can guarantee this is a solid standalone read. I’m tickled because not only does it raise my curiosity of what came before, but there is already a hook for the next book. I may not have read the books in the past, but I sure am interested in following it into the future. Any hero named Apollo has got to be fascinating – must have something to do with adoring Apollo from the original Battlestar Galactica – they all seem to have hero complexes.

The dogs were a cute touch and I enjoyed the roles they played. Basically, animals are a good judge of character so it was telling. I liked some of the secondary characters that supported Artemis. Frankly, I didn’t expect her to have that much support so it made me feel good to see it.

When Artemis and Maximus succumb to their physical passion, it’s steamy writing but the characters’ emotions are never far away. I can see that the author used their sexy encounters to further their romance and attraction, and the fact that it’s done so well is a plus.

The villain was a scoundrel but not a lot of attention was paid to his badness. I know what he did in the past was horrible, and what he currently did in the story was equally noxious, but the descriptions or actions never were delved in deep enough to send shivers up my spine, or gasp in horror or genuinely feel like he was a real threat. He was more a pompous toad with a criminal bent. There were some distractions and misleading clues so the mystery that haunted Maximus took a while to unravel but I never felt the ‘evil’ of the villain so his finally being revealed and addressed drew from me a tepid response at best.

Oh, and Penelope annoyed me. How anyone can look upon that ditherhead and feel fondness I will never know. For me she was the equivalent of a Regency Valley Girl with less to talk about. Ugh. She made Artemis look like a cerebral giant.

On the whole, The Duke of Midnight is a crowd pleaser. It’s not overly dark but has enough suspense and drama to keep the pages turning. Maximus and Artemis have wonderful chemistry that insured I enjoyed reading their story. There were enough wonderful secondary characters to make their world a fascinating place to visit and an as yet unsolved mystery that makes me want to read more. I liked the pace of the novel, the dialogue and the plot momentum. If you have a few hours straight to just sit back and read, The Duke of Midnight is a wonderful choice to spend time with. It’s very entertaining.

All she wants is someone to hold her, to kiss her, to… claim her as HIS. But who has the time to hunt down a perfect man? Does such a creature even exist?

Clocking in for what she assumes is going to be a normal night at her job at the Jamesburg jail Lilah’s got no clue that she’s about to meet the bear of her dreams.

I enjoyed this roundabout story that takes the present, introduces a crisis , and ends up solving a past mystery all while telling the story of two people falling in love.

Jamesburg is an odd place and I think that’s part of its charm. This time around there are were-unicorns and were-Pomeranians. But they are only secondary characters. The main characters are a were-raccoon with a story and a were-bear with an even darker background. How could I not read this novel?

I like how Ms. Red seems to be able to blend various elements in her stories. There’s comedy, both light and dark, silliness, sex, dark paranormal villains, romance and a zombie with a crush. The villain is kind of two-fold which was interesting because there are times that I think one isn’t a true villain but a victim. There was something the full villain said that made me question the heroine but whatever it might have been was never realized. I had a lot of possibilities rummaging around my brain but they were all for naught. The author didn’t do anything with that cryptic comment. I couldn’t be too disappointed though because what she did do was pretty fascinating in and of itself.

Bear With Me is a standalone story. It starts off with the mayor and his wife so a reader can still find out what’s going on with them since the first book but unlike the second book, Erick and Izzy don’t play a role in the final showdown. They are just there in the beginning to break the ice for this newest tale in the town. This current novel follows Lilah and Rex exclusively. Well, the villain has his POV time too.

Another carryover character is Jenga and Atlas, the zombie bear. Even though Jenga started out bad, he’s actually turning into an endearing, eccentric and fascinating character and he’s a great asset to this series. A reader gets to see a bit more of his character growth and it lends itself nicely to the telling of this tale.

A major factor that I greatly appreciate about Ms. Red’s style of writing is her balance between dark conflict and light humor. This novel could have really been dark and depressing because certainly the villain was a nasty bit of business but the author stops just short of it and injects some comic relief, a hero to the rescue and a heroine who isn’t shy about defending herself and those she cares for. It’s because of the lightness and comedic bent that I keep reading these stories. It has the drama and suspense to appeal to romantic suspense readers, it has the sexy escapades to appeal to erotic romance readers, and it has the silly quips, unique observations about Jamestown’s residents and adorable personality quirks of the main protagonists that keeps me coming back for more. It’s just plain fun.

Atlas has more onscreen time in this tale and the effect is hilarious. He actually helps the hero and heroine save the day but I’m willing to bet readers have NEVER seen the kind of comeuppance that gets doled out to the villain in Bear With Me . I laughed and giggled. Ms Red has a devious and highly entertaining mind.

There are other aspects of the book that I wasn’t clear on, and those are the pesky Edgewood brothers. I sort of understand their purpose in the beginning of the book but I am still confused as to their true motivation and target of their ire. What they’re doing makes no sense and I didn’t feel it was explained well enough for me to accept their presence in this story. That being said, the author made it very clear that they were not nice people and in fact were losers. But angry, petty and jealous bears are trouble no matter which way you look at it. That was their function in the book and in that, they were effective.

There are other people that populate the story that provide emotional insights and motivation for Lilah and Rex and played valuable roles in the conflict. Leena was my favorite.

Bear With Me is a really good tale with lots of diabolical twists and a wonderful romance. It has surprises, sexy encounters, silly humor, a bit of action and suspense and a well-rounded and sentimental wrap up that’s as beautiful a happy ever after as one could wish. I had fun reading this novel and give it a good recommend.

I like this series that I discovered by accident and it might have something to do with it being populated with were-turtles and were-Corgis. In this case it’s a tiny fox and a very big bear that take center stage and it’s a fascinating dynamic.

What I liked best about this novel is the mystery of the missing girls. It’s a great backdrop to the main event, which is the romance between Crag and Violet. Both of the main characters are young and that comes through pretty clear, yet they are not stupid young. One has a debt that has to be repaid and the other has emotional issues. They are engaging internal conflicts that somehow get mixed up with the external conflict.

I liked Crag a/k/a Ash. I liked getting to know him and learning to understand that he’s a man trapped by evil design. He had thoughts about someday breaking free but didn’t have much hope until he met Violet. It’s her influence that brought out the best part of him and it was really fascinating how it finally came about.

As for Violet, I liked the interplay between her and her best friend, Henry. They were cute together. And when Violet faced the truth of her feelings for Ash, it was special.

Also, there is a reference to Izzy and Erik which were the main characters from the first book in the series where all the initial world building took place. Even though Baring It All is mostly a standalone read, readers might be curious as to why Izzy and Erik are even part of this current story. Well, Erik is the mayor and the alpha, so he is going to be involved in whatever goes on with the residents of his town. I think Ms. Red provided enough background to make a reader understand why Erik is playing a role but didn’t bog this current novel down with any detailed backstory. This tale is truly about Ash and Violet with everyone else acting as supportive cast. It’s all good.

The villain is whacked. On one hand, I thought that it might turn out to be like the first book – a villain, yet not. Not this time. There truly was danger and mayhem and a bit of twisted evil to deal with so it was a pleasant surprise. This story was not a carbon copy of its predecessor. The other villain’s comeuppance sort of confused me. I’m not too sure how Atlas ended up with him or how he managed to get the upper hand; that was weird. Actually it was a bit of twisted funny too so I’m waffling about its effect on me.

I also can’t understand why something that was a clear and present danger was never addressed for so long. I also didn’t get the step-daughter – was she really that clueless? I am very glad that the mystery and the drama and suspense were wrapped up in a satisfactory manner but I truly didn’t understand the value of some of the revelations or actions of a couple of the secondary characters. I think I must have missed something.

The one thing that was very clear and wonderfully easy to understand was the love that was growing between Violet and Ash. I think the major clue was that they couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. I really liked the fact that he chased her and he was completely serious about it. When they did get together, I can assure erotic romance fans that they will find their encounters very satisfactory indeed. The happy ever after was rather hot too.

On the whole, Baring It All was greatly entertaining and fun. I liked the characters, the storyline and the delivery. I laughed and shook my head at how the author so easily tossed about all the different kinds of were-beings that populated the town because it made it sound like such a fun place. There’s so much more to explore and experience in this world Ms. Red has built and I can’t wait to visit again.

Shiver me timbers! This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the very first zap from the bad guy all the way until the very dramatic conclusion. Every time a new chapter started a new revelation or crisis hit the hero and heroine and kept them scrambling to make sense of the chaos that was unfolding around them. How they had time to fall in love in the midst of it is a credit to the author because it was a definite highlight and made it all worth it.

Felicity, or as she prefers to call herself, Fil, is a heroine who does a pretty good job of rolling with the punches. She has a typical modern independent streak that drives the hero, Spar, a bit nuts. She’s got a wicked sense of humor and Ms. Warren also gave her heroine some very clever internal dialogue that made me smile many times throughout the tale. Yes, Fil does some stupid things, but then the story goes on to show why she did or said what she did and it basically makes sense and keeps everything in character. There was one part where I knew something bad was going to happen because it was a typical storytelling tactic yet the author used it as a dramatic segue into the next climactic part of the book. Sometimes Fil’s rash behavior worked out, and sometimes it didn’t. The heroine isn’t a passive female character, that’s for sure.

I enjoyed getting to know Spar. Of course he’s sexy, eventually. He’s a typical male in spite of his magical uniqueness. I adored his protectiveness and liked how the author had him navigate his experience of feeling emotions for the first time. In some scenes he was so discombobulated that he made mistakes, and that made his character endearing, interesting and more relatable.

There was of course the external conflict and the bad guys are nasty. What they do to people is heinous and one character really got hurt bad to the point it almost reminded me of a scene in The Mummy, and I remember being freaked the first time I saw it. So that will give a reader an idea as to how villainous and evil the antagonists are.

This is totally a standalone read but Kees and Ella appear from the previous book to help out when the suspense, drama and action reach a critical flashpoint. I knew from the previous book how Fil was prompted to get messed up in this conflict in the first place but the author touched on the basics enough that a reader won’t feel out of the loop by starting with this book. However, since the first book Heart of Stone sets up the world building and Kees was such a big sexy hunk anyway, his story is one not to be missed just on that fact alone.

There is a secondary character that not only is helpful in this novel but as it turns out, she’s the perfect hook for the next story. Just as Ella finagled a way to get Fil involved, it sounds like Wynn is next. The interesting twist for Wynn is that she’s not completely ignorant of the power shift that’s going on and I find that fascinating. Ms. Warren picked the perfect scenario to guarantee my eager anticipation for the next book in the series. It’s so exciting!

Stone Cold Lover is an intense, wild ride that should not be missed. This novel should appeal to paranormal romance fans, suspense fans and definitely fans of Ms. Warren. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with the quality of writing, the intensity of the story or the sheer yummy hotness of the romance between Spar and Fil that culminates in a satisfactory HEA. I love the idea of gargoyles being heroes because they embody strength and focus of purpose. They scare the bad guys but they sure know how to love their mates. I’m so happy I discovered this series. Not only is it filled with drama and adventure, it’s been one of the most fun, fascinating and entertaining new series I’ve been privileged to find in a long time and I couldn’t be happier. Ms. Duvall has consistently proved her talent with every installment by delivering heart stopping action, thrilling escapes, sizzling romance and heroes and heroines that touch and engage the emotions of a reader. Every single book so far has been almost impossible to put down once I started and Night Unbound continues the tradition. I read it in one day, all 400+ pages. It was that compelling.

If readers like a bad good guy who is misunderstood, Zach is their man. If readers are looking for a romance that embraces sweet and naughty, that can be tender or frenzied, and defies all odds, including threat of death, then this is the book to read. If a race against time and the drama and suspense and all that that entails piques your interest, then a reader should feel right at home. If reading about a strong man who is not intimidated by a strong woman but is turned on by it, who acts like an adorable puppy with the heroine but can wield power better than Darth Vader, then Zach might be the man of your dreams. Zach’s personal growth in this story is tremendously painful but worth every angst filled page. What he turns into is worthy of a swoon – and a rousing cheer.

Lisette is the heroine who teaches Zach to crave a woman’s touch. She’s a warrior and has a wicked talent with swords. She’s also a very brave woman because she stood up to the threat of death in order to be with the man she loved. At no time did the author fall into the trap of making Lisette less than what she started off to be – a strong, independent woman with a confidence to match. Doesn’t mean she doesn’t make mistakes. But the make-up sheet fun was worth reading; every single scene. Well, there was that part that some would consider embarrassing, but I found tremendously funny. I don’t think her brother will recover any time soon. I giggle every time I remember that part.

Secondary characters are too numerous to mention. Perhaps a new reader might get lost when it comes to some of the deep emotional undercurrents between them, mostly because they are much more effective if a reader has the background. But Ms. Duvall did include enough backstory in the natural telling of this tale to catch a reader up to speed so I’m not too worried about calling this a standalone read. In any event, the secondary characters to keep an eye on for future stories are Seth and Aiden. I don’t know too much about Aiden yet but I recognize a wonderful hook when I see one. But Seth, Seth is special. In this novel readers will find out more about him then they ever dreamed they would all in one book. Now I know he is a man in need of love even more than the men I’ve met so far. It’s not too strong of a statement to say that I’m enamored of this series. It’s so rich and meaty!

As for bad guys, Ha! Get ready to be turned around upside down. I was as discombobulated as Zach and as frustrated as Seth. Who could do the impossible and do all that was done? The suspense and mystery of it all had me gripped by my short hairs. I’m still reeling from the ramifications. It was awesome writing.

Night Unbound isn’t just a story, it’s a profound experience. The editing, the characterization, the dialogue, the pace and delivery of the plot and all its environs were simply spot on. I am hard pressed to find anything that didn’t work for me. I adored how Lisette and Zach were together – watching their love grow made me happy. There is sadness too, and tenderness and even hope and joy woven in to keep things balanced. Night Unbound has everything a paranormal romance reader could possibly wish and then some. I cannot express enough my pleasure and satisfaction from having read this book but I encourage readers to discover the unique richness that abounds in Ms. Duvalls books. This book and the rest are treasures.

Determined to track down the animals and their thief, the telepathic vet decides to investigate, unknowingly delving into a deadly mystery…

He’s ready to make her heart go wild…

Although his bear-like physique has been an advantage in the Tidewater Police Department, Dev Jones’s size often intimidates people. This book surprised and confounded me. When the villain was revealed you could have put an apple in my mouth and knocked me over with a feather because I was so stunned, all I could do was gape and stare. AWESOME!

Guarded picks up where Spirited left off – with another sister discovered. The Scott sisters have some unique paranormal gifts. Although these types of gifts have been used before in other romances, Ms. Behre has placed her own imaginative and creative mark on them. This time around it’s being able to speak to animals and it comes with all the mayhem and unique crises that can arise from it. It made perfect sense to me that Shelley was a veterinarian.

Even though I didn’t rate this story quite as high as the first book, which continues to blow my mind when I remember how cool it was, Guarded is still a high recommend. I think I was confused quite a few times because there was SO much action and frenetic responses to the drama and suspense mixed in with a rather large cast of characters, I found myself lost on just who was who speaking to whom and doing what. It caused me to reread parts just to get it straight.

There is no doubt in my mind that readers who enjoyed Spirited are going to be equally enthralled with Ms. Behre’s latest mystery. There are red herrings and villains who they’ll figure out but it’s the one that remains a true mystery until the big reveal that could leave them as amazed as I was. The intricate web of revenge the author wove is truly mind boggling because now that I know the end results, I remembered certain ‘meaningful’ moments that actually had a more profound impact than what I initially read. Being able to weave those kinds of details in is talented writing.

Part of a diabolical mystery is the fact of casualties. I almost stopped reading this book because of one certain death. The author had introduced a character that she imbued with enough heart, dreams and the feelings of strong emotion that when the secondary character met a bad end, I was heartbroken. It affected me greatly. You do know what that means, right? Ms. Behre did her job. If the character was a one dimensional throwaway person, I wouldn’t have cared. I would have shrugged and say, “Okay, that’s just to show how far the bad guy will go,” and that would have been that. Instead, I was so shocked I almost couldn’t go on. But of course, I did … a couple of weeks later, but I did restart reading. I’m very glad I did. The death was not in vain and for that I applaud the author. From that point on, the action and pace picked up even more and I never stopped reading until the end of the epilogue. Guarded is a mind bending roller coaster of a read.

Remember earlier I said that I was confused because of too many characters on scene? Wait until you get a load of Ryan and Ian. There was something about those guys that intrigued my ‘yummy meter’. I cracked up when a monkey took something away and their reaction to the zoo situation was priceless. They are two secondary characters that would make ideal heroes in future books. I hope they do. I liked meeting them, even if so briefly and during so crazy a pace. Then, there is Seth and Jules from Spirited, and the sheriff and other town characters and talking animals and the cutest ferret I’ve ever read about. It’s quite the menagerie but every single person or animal, or ghost, played a role that was pivotal, sentimental, sweet or surprising, not to mention fascinating.

Here is where I must thank the author profusely. She made her male characters smart. And I mean awesome smart, quick on the uptake, it’s a clue and they GOT IT, smart. I knew what happened to Shelley. I understood it immediately but she brushed it off. I was yelling at her, “No! Don’t just disregard this, it’s a clue, you have a clue!” But of course, she can’t see what a reader can see. But the guys did. I was so happy that I wanted to hug all of them. As it was, I did a happy chair dance. Because one was a marine, the other a cop and the other, I think a P.I., the author had them living up to their professions. I am impressed. They were heroes!

There is so much more to talk about but I have to reign myself in. Guarded is definitely a standalone story, it has a sweet happy ever after, it has some hot and sexy exchanges between Shelley and Dev, and it ends with a perfect hook. Of course it won’t come as a surprise that they get a lead on Shelley and Jule’s final sister but it’s the other discovery they made in this novel that indicates that this may not be the end after all. And that’s a wonderful thing. This really has been an amazing series so far and I highly recommend reading both Guarded and Spirited because they are both excellent reads. True keepers because their stories are so chock full of details and dialogue, I’m sure I missed something the first time around. This is worth re-reading, guaranteed.

A surprise inheritance reunites a mixed martial arts fighter with the woman he’s never forgotten in the first in a smoldering new series!

Cannon Colter is quintessential hero material: chiseled jawline, shredded body—the works. He’s also the guy who rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers, only to put an end to her romantic dreams. These days, she’s older, smarter, determined to face whatever life throws her way. Even the prospect of sharing a house and business with Cannon.

Cannon knew Yvette wanted him three years ago. But she was young—and some things are worth waiting for. Thrown together by her grandfather’s legacy, he realizes how deep Yvette’s scars really go, and how much danger lurks in their quiet town. As pent-up desire explodes between them, protecting her becomes the only fight that matters. And he’ll break all the rules to do it…

Ms. Foster once again provides her fans with another heart thumping, entertaining and sexy read starring another yummy SBC hero. This book has to be one of the most eagerly awaited novels because of the star of the story, Cannon. The wait was worth it.
They are classed as buy levitra line a schedule 4 controlled medicines and on the street, they are CLASS C banned in the substance. In mid 2004, the results culminated in the “Marketing Hits’ Formula” cialis no prescription which is now a part of the STB armory.
The first thing to be assured of is No Limits can be a standalone read. Sure, the relationship between Cannon and Yvette started in the last book, Dash of Peril, but Ms. Foster provides enough background in a natural retelling by various cast and characters in this current story to understand how they knew each other in the past.

The author leaves no doubt in a reader’s mind that Cannon loves Yvette. Through the story his love grows, matures and is clarified. Ms. Foster makes sure a reader knows how patient and understanding the hero is by putting him in situations that tests his resolve. He exhibits a care and consideration for others that defies the environment he grew up in. He’s a pretty noble guy.

Yvette is just as head over heels over Cannon as she ever was, but she has to realize that her youth-like love for him in the past has indeed matured into an adult love and it’s real. The only thing stopping her from enjoying and exploring it, is her own hang-ups. They’re a pretty big stumbling block to the romance which is why Cannon has to have such a deep well of patience and perseverance to draw from.

The internal conflict for Yvette was understandable and I could buy into its effect on her life and her choices in life. The external conflicts however, are not unique in any way. I cringed every time she ‘ignored’ Heath and face palmed when she said she ‘handled or could handle’ him. I rolled my eyes a lot too. With all the advancements and warnings over the last twenty years or so and readily available advice about those kinds of ‘relationships’, Yvette’s handling of the situation left much to be desired. The other secondary external conflict was also predictable. It was so blatant, I was flabbergasted that Cannon, of all people, couldn’t guess it for himself much earlier in the book. Despite all of the clichés, it still provided many interesting twists and turns for their relationship and entertaining dialogue and action to keep things interesting.

Secondary characters were definitely a plus in this story. There’s a lot of world building going on to introduce the future heroes in the series and preparation for a reader to understand how they all are interwoven in their lives. It was fun.

The romance, when it was finally allowed to blossom into the fiery passion I knew they were capable of, was awesome and well worth the wait.

No Limits is great entertainment. I was happy to see Cannon and Yvette get their happy ever after and I enjoyed meeting all the new guys with their quirks and unique personalities. I had fun reading this story and I’m sure fans will be jumping for joy when they get to read this novel for themselves. There’s a lot to like within its pages.

Investigator Tristan Bonnaud has one aim in life— to make sure that his half-brother George can’t ever ruin his life again. So when the pesky Lady Zoe Keane, the daughter of the Earl of Olivier, shows up demanding that the Duke’s Men find a mysterious gypsy woman, he seizes the opportunity to also hunt for a gypsy friend who knows secrets about George. Tristan doesn’t expect to uncover Lady Zoe’s family secrets, as well… or end up falling for the woman who will risk all to discover the truth

How the Scoundrel Seduces is a wickedly tangled weave that delighted all my senses. As the story unfolded, I was shocked as to the extent of the poison the villain wielded and I became quite bloodthirsty in wanting his comeuppance. Ms. Jeffries has a devious mind because I had to wait and watch the drama and suspense affect Zoe and Tristan throughout the tale and I couldn’t put the book down.

Because of the many benefits of taking Texas DEd courses is to educate new drivers to the rules of the road and to help them learn to communicate with others and be able to engage in conversation. viagra on line cheap To do the diagnosis, the doctor asks the patient to undergo some internal examinations, and through it the possible causes and points of the bleeding can happen in the brain matter, termed as intracerebral usa discount cialis haemorrhage. This novel is a standalone read but I do encourage readers to read the previous two books in the Duke’s Men series, What the Duke Desires and When the Rogue Returns, because the deeds of the villain’s treachery tainted all of them. When the ultimate confrontation occurs in How the Scoundrel Seduces, it’s made that much more powerful by my having read the previous two. In fact, it turns out that there was an unknown victim and tragedy that was perpetrated and it broke my heart.

There is a secret that the blurb mentions about Zoe. What astounded me was the connection it forged with the first book in the series. Even though the Ms. Jeffries does include enough back story for a new reader to understand and follow the current plot, readers and fans of the series will find it especially intriguing because it means the author had to step back and create this whole world while keeping the underlying thread and its effects woven throughout. I’m impressed because she succeeded wonderfully.

I enjoyed Mr. Keane. His character kept me guessing because I didn’t know if he was a good guy or a meanie. He was sharp and I kept thinking he’d be a great asset to the Duke’s Men and then I would question his motives and start worrying for Zoe all over again. Jeremy Keane was a wonderful foil that kept me guessing.

The romance between Tristan and Zoe was full of spark, sauce, sensual seduction and fun. It was a delight to watch their love grow. Of course, one of them was a bit clueless what being in love was all about. It was sweet to see how it all resolved.

Secondary characters were important and made this book feel like I was living in a second world. It helps that the previous heroes and heroines from the first two books pop in to help out. In fact, there are these constant digs directed at Dom about someone named Jane that turns the man into a prune. If the author’s intent is to wiggle a juicy bookworm in front of me, rest assured, I’ve taken the bait. It sounds like a story that needs to be told – if only because Dom is the last bachelor standing. We can’t have that now, can we? *grin*

The happy ever after was wrapped up with surprising poignancy. I never expected it to take the turn it did and because of it, it elevated this story from a good read to a really good read. As hard as the act of forgiving is, the benefits are definitely felt by both the characters and me. It was rather emotional.

How the Scoundrel Seduces captures a reader’s imagination and takes them on a journey of discovery, intrigue and romance. It’s a well written story that is sure to entertain if only because Tristen and Zoe are wonderful together. To historical romance fans and readers of Ms. Jeffries’ books, I definitely recommend reading this, her latest novel. She has another winner.

The Dowager Countess of Morley asks Vincent Tremayne, Lord Vampire of Cornwall, to become guardian of her American granddaughter. Vincent honors the agreement and plans to get his new ward married and off his hands as soon as possible.

When Lydia Price arrives, she soon turns Vincent’s gloomy castle upside-down, and he decides he wants Lydia for himself. But if Vincent can’t protect Lydia from her entanglement with scandalous portrait painter Sir Thomas Lawrence, the vampire community will make sure that he—and Lydia—face dire consequences.

The author outdid herself when she wrote that first chapter. Talk about setting up a heart wrenching reason to like the heroine, Lydia, and have a reader invested in her happiness so early on in a book! It’s like I could feel her rejection and sadness and then, her determination to survive, succeed and thrive. It takes a strong female character to weather the emotional onslaught of rejection and Ms. Ann certainly accomplished it. Lydia was a terrific heroine.

Vincent, the hero is in a pickle. He is honor bound to repay an old pact or oath that was made many years before. It was a clever way to get Lydia and Vincent together in a very proper manner. What happens next is anything but proper. It’s delightful, intriguing and full of surprises.

When Zinc levels are low in generico cialis on line one’s body, it would be important that one eats foods rich in Zinc.
The author did have some of the characters that I met in Bite Me, Your Grace populate this current novel but they were only there to help prod the hero and sometimes poke fun at him, and in that, they were very helpful and endearing, especially Angelica. Rest assured however, that this is a wonderful standalone story. The few details that would be helpful to know from the previous book are revealed in the natural course of telling this tale while introducing Lydia to its world’s intricacies, when Vincent has no choice but to tell her. The drama and suspense that leads up to that moment was great writing. On the other hand, I don’t know if anyone would truly be that unaware of their surroundings and I can’t figure out why someone out of nowhere would do such a thing. It almost seemed orchestrated to me but that’s not where the author took it. I guess the level of intrigue that she did provide was enough. Of course, what came afterwards is definitely worth reading.

Dialogue is important in this tale more so because it’s done so well that there was no need for the author to resort to ‘telling’. She showed me with every description, cheeky comment and suspenseful twist of the plot while using the interactions between characters to lead a reader where she wanted them to go. I enjoyed it.

Even more enjoyable was when Vincent and Lydia came together in carnal passion. Here, description and dialogue produced excellent results and I was a bit hot under the collar after reading those scenes. Talk about sexy!

There is an undercurrent which is produced by two sisters. They were loose cannons and I could not guess which way things were going to go. I liked how the author dealt with them. It was sweet but not too sweet. They are after all, vampires.

The happily ever after encompasses not just Lydia and Vincent and for that I commend the author. It’s like she cares for each and every one of her characters. If they are bad, then they get their comeuppance, and if they are redeemable, they have a chance at redemption, and if there is a transition to be made, Ms. Ann tries to put a brave face on it and make it as painless as possible. And when someone deserves happiness, like Lydia and Vincent, then they get one, but one as unique and fascinating as they are.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a book in a series without dangling a carrot for the next story to come. There were hints dropped all through One Bite Per Night but I wasn’t sure who he was going to be paired with until the epilogue clinched it. I can’t wait to see how in the world that is going to work out. I already see some major bumps and that makes for the best reading. How fun.

One Bite Per Night is a ton of fun. I dare say this novel is even better than the last one. I really enjoyed Bite Me, Your Grace, but Vincent and Lydia’s story was a bit more fun and a lot more sexy. Plus, the reason for the heroine to be with the hero in the first place was unique and endearing. The fact that Vincent simply could not resist Lydia no matter how hard he tried entertained me no end. I love to see a powerful vampire tied up in knots. I think paranormal romance readers will enjoy this book. And if a reader enjoyed the previous novel in the series, then One Bite Per Night is a sure winner. This gets a solid recommend from me.
