Tessa McCaide has a unique talent for getting into trouble. Then again, it isn’t easy for a girl with visions to ignore what she sees. Luckily Tessa and her family are leaving California and moving halfway across the country, giving her the perfect opportunity to leave her reputation as “Freaky Tessa” behind.

But Tessa doesn’t realize that kissing the wrong guy in her new Texas town could land her in far more trouble than she ever imagined. Like being forced to attend St. Ailbe’s Academy, a secret boarding school for werewolves.

Even if the wrong guy did accidentally turn her into one of “them” and doom her to attending the weirdest high school ever, Tessa can’t help her growing attraction to the mysterious Dastien Laurent.

When vampires attack St. Alibe’s and her visions pinpoint an enemy in their midst, Tessa realizes that boy drama and her newfound canine tendencies might just be the least of her problems.

Team Jacob, move on over. There’s a better werewolf in town, Dastien, and he’s an alpha with a capital A. Tessa is the heroine who makes a lot of sense and I enjoyed watching her come to grips with the new crazy that has become her life.

The best thing I liked about Tessa is her personality. She’s always been an outsider because of her gifts and she’s been shunned, bullied and ignored. There’s a saying, “that which doesn’t kills us, makes us stronger” and it’s appropriate for Tessa. I totally understood her character. When a kid has to deal with bullies, and survives, there can be a strength that is born, a maturity that is beyond their chronological age because they survived adversity. They end up being able to handle the trash that life throws at them much better than their peers who have had it easy or were the “popular” crowd. When things don’t go their way, prima donnas lose their cool but survivors, like Tessa, shine and can handle crisis much better. That’s how I saw the heroine. Her tough life prepared her for not only the wild adversity and craziness of the world she was thrust into, but in the middle of all that insane change, she found her stride, friends and her first boyfriend. Good things can and do happen, but for Tessa, well, there’s a huge price to pay. She’s not the only one who pays it either.

For the first book in the series, it does a wonderful job of setting the stage, introducing the main characters and antagonists and the emotional hoops Tessa is going to face. The story is told in first person point of view which usually bugs me. Not this time. It’s perfect for the story and the author never slipped once. I loved the author’s voice, Tessa’s attitude, and the descriptions throughout the story were spot on. Once the heroine got bit and all the weird stuff started happening – the revelations, the action, the twists and turns she has to navigate as she is introduced to a new school and new classmates, the snide and jealous girls and the snarky comments – I could not stop reading. It was like a compulsion; I had to turn the pages, keep reading, find out what happens next, and what happened after that. It’s a very busy, action filled book mixed with realistic dialogue, secrets, intrigue and tension from the simmering violence. And through it all, I liked Tessa’s character more and more.

Dastien, he’s a different matter. I liked him and the author’s description of him was yummy. But he sure came across as a waffle – he couldn’t make up his mind. Thank goodness the author had him explaining why he was that way. The reason made me like him all the more. I liked when he growled and when he calmed Tessa down. He has a lot of wonderful characteristics that appealed to me.

As for kissing, well, there certainly was some and it briefly got a bit steamy–they are wolves after all. But that was as far as it went. I’d call it sweet, but with a hint of hot sauce.

The small core group of friends that Tessa gathers around her throughout the course of the story were awesome and a great supporting cast I liked them all. As for the bad guys, if I wasn’t supposed to like them, the author made sure I didn’t – but there is a twist at the end. Another reason why I liked Tessa so much.

Becoming Alpha is awesome. It’s way better than the book with the sparkly vampire guy and this heroine is spunky, extremely likable and has a good head on her shoulders. What’s even better, this is a series with a couple more books already out and a brand new one coming out later this year. I’m going to be budgeting to buy all of them. And, if they all are written as good as this one? Wow, am I going to be in for a treat. I can’t wait!!!

The aspiring physician was robbing graves to pursue her studies—and he might turn out to be her greatest subject yet. So they form a bargain: one kiss for every experiment. As their passion grows and Rafe begins to heal, only one question remains: can Cassandra see the man beyond the monster?

I’ve been waiting for Rafe’s story and I was not disappointed. This book was fun!

I enjoyed her determination, spunk and sass. I got a kick out of her refusal to be cowed and her fascination about vampires, once she’s accepted that they’re real, and everything else that may or may not come along from the knowing. If anything thwarted her, she didn’t let it block her for long. Her uniqueness is what drew me but her personality kept me. I can see why she drove Rafe, the hero, nuts.

In the previous books, Rafe was very gruff, standoffish, opinionated and a man of few words. I wasn’t sure how in the world Ms. Ann was going to present him as a believable hero, but she did it. He never let his disability slow him down but it did affect his emotions and how he approached things in his life, like his romantic entanglements. The author garnered sympathy and interest from me for her hero and it all worked out.

I think the only thing that rang a sour note in the book was Rafe’s cluelessness about the villain. It’s mentioned he was suspicious, but he was So observant and sneaky and effective in the preceding book. His strength of character seemed a bit diluted in this one. Then again, he wasn’t in love, or fighting falling in love, in the other story either. Perhaps that explains it?

This is the third book in the series and as is true for the second, it’s true for Bite at First Sight – this is a standalone read. It’s easy to enjoy even if this tale is being read out of sequence. The author kept the story focused on Rafe and Cassandra, so a reader shouldn’t get lost. Some references are made to other characters from past books but they don’t play any significant roles except token appearances after all is said and done. However, there is a very believable and solid hook presented in this novel that truly has me wondering. I’m thinking they’ll be a good match based on their first meeting but how is the author going to navigate the emotional landmines laid down in this book for the next? I can’t wait to find out.

I enjoyed it when Cassandra and Rafe finally do get to explore the physical sides of their natures. It was especially entertaining when the heroine figured out what the fuss was all about. Her enthusiasm is delightful and very much appreciated by the hero.

Of course, there is suspense and drama injected into the romance by a very twisted, jealous and unprincipled vampire. Just when I thought the villain was going to get away with his plot, the author pleased me with her course of action. I’m glad everything turned out okay for the doctors. The scenes were tremendously well written and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Bite at First Sight is a great addition to the series and is a story easy to recommend to other paranormal romance fans. This novel is fun, addictive and wickedly entertaining. I couldn’t ask for a better happy ever after for Cassandra and Rafe – it was perfect for their characters and positions in life – or unlife. Ms. Ann certainly has a fan in me.

It has action, suspense, a riveting plot and a hero and heroine that are awesome together.

Ms. McCall impressed me with this novelette. Each chapter is packed with a lot of information. The author used the minimum amount of words yet she still provided the emotional connection between a reader and her characters and I really got into the story. I didn’t feel cheated or shortchanged in any aspect of this tale. Ms. McCall truly knows her craft.

The one aspect that stood out for me was the suspense. I bet that if I could see myself in a mirror, I wouldn’t be surprised to see my eyes wide and my mouth hanging open. It really got intense a few times making this one of the fastest read stories in months. I enjoyed every second of it and couldn’t stop reading until I finished it, in one sitting. Amazing!

I liked how the author presented Kissa to a reader in the beginning. It successfully garnered my sympathy and interest. And yes, even though the mating scent ploy is used, I liked how Clay and Kissa interacted. It didn’t come across as trite, fast, gratuitous or pat. It was natural, believable and thoroughly entertaining and satisfying. I kept waiting for the characters to say or do the one thing that would trip up the whole story and it never happened. This was a complete joy to read.

I will point out my niggle about Dan. Considering who he was and what has happening to the people in the bar, I have no clue as to why he was not targeted by the bad guys, because he should have been. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad he wasn’t because he was a nice guy. He still was a perfectly good target and it never materialized. Considering how bloody efficient the bad guys turned out to be, that was a glaring oversight.

Since this is an erotic romance, it’d be remiss of me not to mention how delicious their sex scenes were. They were well done, well placed and were definitely a lot of fun to read. Clay and Kissa are wonderful together.

This review is a joy to write because I still have a happy buzz going on from reading Clay. This little gem is an easy recommend for all paranormal romance readers. Ms. McCall has written a keeper.

Don’t moose with his fox!

A bullheaded moose doesn’t stand a chance when a fox decides to make him her mate.

Boris left to defend his country still a boy. He came back a changed man. A damaged man.

But Jan still wants him.

A man of few words, Boris has a firm way of saying No, but this determined vixen knows he’s her mate. Despite some less than subtle overtures, Jan has not had much success in getting her bullheaded moose to notice her, but all that changes when her life is put in danger.
So men lets wise up or we will find that generic viagra from usa the brand medicine needs to marketing and stand in the queue at the chemist store. It will take some subtle maneuvering to outfox her moose into admitting he loves her, but this wily vixen is more than ready for the challenge. And if that doesn’t work, momma’s offered to loan her the shot gun used for her own engagement.

Moose puns are fun. One of the things I’ve noticed about Ms. Langlais’s stories is her clever and chuckle-worthy use of animal appropriate metaphors and dialogue. I found myself laughing or giggling when I least expected it many times throughout reading Outfoxed by Love.

This story picks up where the first book left off, but coming from Jan’s point of view. The story is told in both the hero and heroine’s POV so I was able to see how their internal crises affected them and the domino effect it had on the people and environment around them. I’d say this book could be a standalone read but why would someone not want to have the full effect? I think I enjoyed this story more because I had read the first one.

Boris, the hero, is full of himself. He’s confident in his skills and abilities and he’s equally confident that he’s so emotionally damaged by his torture and captivity that he’s no good for any woman, especially the fox of his dreams, Jan. He’s the epitome of a tortured hero – with a snarky sarcastic streak.

Jan isn’t a fox in name only; she’s got the claws to prove it. The heroine also has an epiphany – she’s been courting her moose all the wrong way. Once she figures that out, the fur flies and the moose bellows sound and I was highly entertained.

What Jan didn’t count on, and what had me snickering at Boris’s and hers embarrassment and discomfort, was the arrival of Jan’s parents. They were a great addition to the story and added an extra fun factor to the plot. Her dad is also a very sneaky guy and has some serious skills of his own bordering on scary. I was most impressed. The heroine’s mom is no slouch either. In my review of the first book in the series, Kodiak’s Claim I met Gene, the villain. I had an issue with his badness because I saw hints of something redeemable. I wasn’t the only one because Jan’s mom saw it too and I was tickled that Gene might be able to be saved. I had my doubts with the big battle though. There was a lot of blood spilled and I thought for sure he was going to meet his end as all evil villains should.

Dastardly deeds aside, the romance between Boris and Jan was cute, frustrating, funny and exciting. When Boris finally gets over himself and allows himself to lose control with his lovely fox, sparks and fireworks exploded and, because the writing was so well done, was excellent to read and highly enjoyable, not to mention very sensual and spicy, I had fun.

There is another underlying plot thread that Gene was directly involved with in the first book and it carried over into Outfoxed by Love. However, it gets twisted and Gene does something that makes me think Jan’s mom’s assessment is spot on. Only time will tell, but now I’m very excited to read the next book in the series.

Outfoxed by Love sure kept me on the edge of my seat, especially when the battles were fought. I enjoyed watching Boris rescue Jan and her rescue him right back. They’re a great couple and totally made this book worth reading. Ms. Langlais has a great thing going so far with this series and I can’t wait to read more. I feel like a kid who’s discovered a new flavor of candy and can’t get enough.

Tammy is convinced men are all scum, even gorgeous ones like Reid Carver. She knows he’s hiding something. Something big. She just never expected a real freaking bear hid underneath all those muscles. But when the truth comes out and he tries to scare her off with a roar, she shows him not just bears have bite.

I enjoy discovering new romances. Especially if they are paranormal and deal with hunky were-bears and then turn out to be the first of many new treasures of an undiscovered series. I don’t know if it’s the growly gruff hero or the fact the heroine shot him in the butt, but I totally enjoyed myself reading Kodiak’s Claim.

Tammy is a most unusual heroine. She is not afraid of guns, growls or long Alaskan nights. She has a mom who drives her nuts and a job that ends up sending her to her destiny. I like how she likes herself as she is and isn’t afraid to give a pie her full attention. She’s a heroine who really appeals to me.

Reid is an alpha were-bear who is incredibly dominant, assertive and is rough around the edges. He is all about serving and protecting his clan. Basically, he is a very serious man. Until Tammy slams into his life. Oh my gosh! – the things she did to him? I laughed and laughed!

As with most paranormal stories with critters that have fangs and claws, there is an element of violence and threat that comes with the territory. It’s true here but the villain is a question mark for me. He’s thwarted in this story but is left as a dangling thread. The thing is, how the author chose to handle it left me on the fence regarding sympathy – is he a potential anti-hero? One thing is for sure, I’m solidly curious and fascinated. The villain is worthy of the title but there’s much more simmering under the surface and it’s a great hook for further reading.

Another great hook comes from the supporting cast that surrounds Reid. Boris is a man who has many secrets and issues. In this tale he is depicted as a wild card, an efficient killer if he has to be. A good man to have in your corner and I’m glad he’s one of the good guys. Reid’s grandmother is a hoot. I snort every time they mention the respect for the spoon.

As fun as this book is, there are a few things that I felt weren’t explained enough for me to accept. The natural wolves for instance. I can’t imagine them doing what they did without some kind of woo-woo factor yet no explanation was truly provided to make me believe their actions. I don’t think I’ve ever read a story where they are used in quite this way and I wasn’t convinced as to why they’d go against their nature. And, although Tammy sort of liked Reid’s high-handedness, and when she didn’t she gave him what-for about it, there were times the hero came across as a bossy jerk that no amount of the heroine’s melting for him made it fine with me. I think she should have looked for other kitchen utensils to use on him. Even with her propensity for kitchen violence, Reid and Tammy get their HEA and it’s as fun as it is surprising.

All in all, Kodiak’s Claim is a wonderful addition to my paranormal romance addiction. I had fun, I laughed and I enjoyed getting to know everyone at Kodiak Point. I can’t wait to read the next book.

A hundred years after vampires revealed themselves to the masses, the world is still recovering from the hysteria and war that devastated much of the Earth. And though peace has been brokered between the human and vampire nations, it is tumultuous at best.

Orphaned at the age of ten, Coraline Conwell has struggled to survive a turbulent existence growing up alone on the harsh streets. Until a wealthy man provides an escape from her vagrant life by offering his hand in marriage. Out of place in the upper-crust world, Cora has done her best to adapt to her new role as wife, but when her husband is brutally murdered, she is ripped from her secure life at the hands of the Vampire Enforcement Agency.

She must keep unwanted desires for the sexy vampire from leading her down a dangerous path while she discovers there is more to this world, and herself, than she could have ever imagined.

If you’re in to alternative realities where the paranormals are a part of everyday life, then this book is worth taking a look at.

The world in which Cora survives in isn’t at all what a reader is expecting. It starts off innocuous enough but quickly morphs into a scenario that immediately grabs a reader’s attention. What is really going on? Who really are the bad guys? And are the good guys bad too? What a pickle.

The author presents her own spin on what vampires can and cannot do. Ms. Fay also explores what roles witches play in this new reality. I love what the cat can do. Good kitty. Very effective kitty.

Cora’s main romantic entanglement comes from Mason. It’s a relationship that is extremely bumpy and dramatic yet there are strong feelings growing between the two of them. Just when a reader is satisfied that there is hope for Cora to fall in love with Mason, Knox, another vampire, gets thrown into the mix and the tension and drama really heats up. I had a hard time liking Knox because he’s very easy to hate. I’m just not sure if I’m supposed to like him or not. Most of the story, I wanted him to go away, until the last scene at the end – that threw me for a loop. Now I am thinking that the book Cora was reading might actually explain why I’m thinking what I’m thinking and it might actually turn out good.

Here’s a piece of advice. Read A Wicked Hunger if you enjoy serial series. I expected this novel to be complete and it’s not. I am fully convinced that the romance and love is there but it’s not finished evolving. In fact, it’s just beginning. The ending was abrupt and poor Cora was once again resigning herself to saying good bye to life. Such is not the case and the author made that incredibly clear. As a hook, the ending was extremely effective. As long as the storyline doesn’t spiral down into darkness and too much despair, and Cora finds her inner strength to stand up to bullying, then I’m very interested in watching her grow. I saw the heroine take baby steps in that direction during this first story, and Mason played a huge part in Cora’s finding her own way and standing up for herself, but she’s got a long way to go. Fortunately, Ms. Fay has created two very likeable characters in Cora and Mason and I am vested in their potential HEA. I look forward to their next encounter.

A Wicked Hunger is a fascinating start to a new serial series that has a lot of potential. The author did a wonderful job of creating her characters’ world and the drama and suspense of the mystery that dogs their footsteps along the way. It’s a well written story. My hope is that the author won’t take too long to publish the next segment. It’s good to keep the fires of curiosity burning. Mine are burning bright right now.

They must face a variety of challenges from a psycho ex-girlfriend to a Yorkie with a shoe fetish…and that pesky problem of only having one-fated mate in a lifetime. It never crossed my mind to wonder what it would be like if a werewolf HAD to find a mate in order to get a promotion. With so many books out there using the “scent” thing, it was refreshing to find a spin that was a bit more believable and challenging for the characters.

Ms. Miller does use the fated mate scenario but it’s not so clear cut and personalities do play a role. The revelation of how it all works, especially when one dies, is amazing and a very creative solution to a perplexing issue. Instead of magically making things work out, the author made the knowledge confuse her hero which I found a fascinating and effective reason for conflict.

This novel is told in third person point of view and is a character driven romance. There are no villains to fight, no dire threats to overcome and Faith and Carter do not have to save the world. They just need to stop a puppy from trying to make every day hump day, and how to get the things they want out of life without losing the best thing they have, each other.

Faith is a sweet heroine. She has a heart of gold but doesn’t have the funds to support it. A reader gets a sense of her loyalty, her sense of humor and most importantly, her sense of self. The belief in who she is gets tested in this novel. What I saw was a heroine forced to face her fears, and in doing so, grow and reach her true potential. At times it was painful and others, fun. It seemed the storyline wallowed in her shortcomings a bit too long in some spots but fortunately the action picked up and the plot moved on. I liked her spunk and her determination to make an edible casserole.

Carter is a very conflicted man. He knows what he wants but it’s not what he wants. It took a perfect stranger to figuratively wallop him over the head with the truth and make him see that his worst fear was a self-fulfilled prophesy. Carter had to get out of his own way. That being said, he really was a dear. He’s funny, earnest, dedicated and focused. Many times I got the hint of his true feelings for Faith but he cluelessly attributed it something else – always something else. He’s dense but not stupid. Carter comes around in a typical man-like way and I was amused. He also can be very romantic, which was a bonus.

When Carter and Faith finally do the physical tango, it doesn’t produce magic. It muddies things a bit because their heads weren’t in the right place. That was a heart wrencher but it also gave me hope. There’s more than a spark there and I enjoyed watching it eventually flame into an inferno. The sensual build up tormented them and I was entertained.

So I Married a Werewolf is a treat. It’s the perfect story for readers who enjoy the “friends to lovers” scenario. Naturally it has the typical worry about messing things up with their friendship because they don’t want to lose each other, but it’s how the author worked and manipulated their worry that made this book easy to read and enjoy. Faith and Carter are wonderful together.

If a reader wants to kick back and read a nice romance story between two people who just happen to turn furry and howl at the moon, So I Married a Werewolf is a good choice.

I liked the first person point of view from Angie. It’s her story and it’s her life that gets a jump start. What she sees, hears and experiences will forever change her. The story was solidly told from her perspective and what a fun time it was. She’s an older woman whose kids were now in college, and a widow. She’s still young and vibrant but for some reason, had lost that sense of being a sexual being. All it took was an impulsive decision to pick up a hitch hiking Troy and the fun began. I enjoyed getting to know her and watching her explore her sexuality for the first time in her life. What I didn’t expect was to laugh. I giggled, snorted and out right laughed at some of the things she got into. Once she let herself be free to express and explore her fantasies and her curiosity, I never knew what that woman would do, I was treated to some funny, silly yet very hot scenes that I really enjoyed. Even when she was in the middle of a threesome comparison, I was smiling. What I marveled at was the fact she was surrounded by cowboys with hearts of gold, who loved her, respected her and even when some were feeling jealous or slighted, never turned into jerks, morons or creepy stalkers. They were passionate guys who finally got a chance to air their own fantasies – but only one’s dream comes true.

Angela, being a mature adult, didn’t always act like it. In some cases, I understood, in others, she acted more like a hormonal teenager than a responsible ranch owner and mother. On the other hand, if I had a chance to experience no strings attached, unbridled passion and clandestine kinky sex, maybe I’d be a bit goofy too.

It was Joe that was the catalyst for suspicion. He also provided some endearing moments when onstage. Bull reminds me of an old co-worker – a good worker but with quirks that always seemed to rub folks the wrong way – we always got mad at him yet we couldn’t stay mad at him for long because he was quirky funny too; that was Bull in this story. Dusty was cute and it was good getting to know him but Troy cracked me up. Troy and Dusty are the two men who got to know Angela in the biblical sense.

The surprise came from one of the strong characters in the story. I won’t say anything more because I don’t want to ruin the bombshell. I can share that Ms. Brooks wrote in a devious mystery and a bit of darkness into the tale which explained a ton of the baggage everyone seemed to inadvertently carry but I never expected the reasoning or to what extent it went. The revelation can only be effective if a reader is in the dark as thoroughly as I was. I had an inkling about who I should be suspicious about, but the truth blew me away. It’s a very cool twist and it made this story better than good and is worth recommending.

Cowboy Heaven isn’t just hot and sexy, it’s intelligent, witty and well written. I liked the dynamics between Angie and the men she had to choose from, Troy and Dusty. I enjoyed the banter and sense of fun and friendship as well as the dialogue between all the characters. This was a wonderful read that surprised me with its depth of emotion and eventual romance. I am thrilled with the happy ever after and I absolutely recommend Cowboy Heaven to readers who like romances on the hot side. Even better, this book has a solid story to offer that makes the sex even more effective – because it allowed a reader to see Angela’s growth and her love for the man she eventually chooses. I’m very happy I read it.

A few hours ago, Sherry Carne would have sworn that vampires didn’t exist. That’s before rogue immortals rampage through her store, leaving bloody chaos (literally) in their wake. The kicker comes when Sherry learns that one of the vamps on the bad guys’ trail may be her life mate. Her head says it’s impossible. The rest of her takes one look at Basileios Argeneau and has much more interesting ideas.

Whatever Basil expected in a life mate, funny, outspoken Sherry isn’t it. But mind-blowing chemistry and instinct don’t lie. They tell him something else, too—that Sherry’s connection to the immortal world goes deeper than she knows. And that she’s in the kind of danger only Basil can save her from—if she’ll just trust him, now and forever . . .

Anyone who doesn’t like a slow starting book will find the first chapter chock full of action, chases and shocking revelations when the heroine is thrust into a whole new world and readers get to see how she deals with it all. The truth is harder to swallow than her pizza.

What I liked early on about Sherry, the heroine, was her ability to keep her sense of humor and to keep an open mind as well as her seemingly logical thought process. I also enjoyed seeing her logic derail as she learns about a people she never knew existed. That includes meeting Basileios.

Basileios, a/k/a Basil but not pronounced like the herb but I did it anyway, is the hero who has his work cut out for him in protecting not just Sherry but Stephanie too. Stephanie is a character from a previous book that plays an interesting role in getting Basil and Sherry together. I believe she’ll be a good future heroine someday. Mentioning this secondary character is a good place to mention that The Immortal Who Loved Me is a fine standalone read. Leoninus, the bad guy, and his cohorts have been a continuing threat for many a book in the series but Ms. Sands drops enough clues and backstory for a new reader to fit right in. The shocking bit in the alley is still a solid bit of writing. And, because it is so well done and dramatic, a reader will mostly get the full effect of the scene. However, followers of the series will understand the extra subtle underlying drama that plays out to its conclusion and experience that extra wow factor like I did.

Ms. Sands also continues to deliver a format that appeals; that being the inclusion of many family members in their various roles to tease, confound, protect, reprimand or help Basil and Sherry. The technique the author employs throughout all of her books continues here too. The fact that everyone else can read the minds of Basil and Sherry drives them alternately nuts or gives them the clues they need to sidestep typical dating landmines. Does it come off as too convenient and orchestrated at times? Yes, for me it did. That doesn’t take anything away from my enjoyment of the book as it ensures that a family member will always call one or the other on the carpet for doing, or thinking about doing, something stupid. Some characters get a little too much enjoyment out of doing that, which means there are a lot of opportunities for humor and giggles throughout the book.

The one thing Ms. Sands does is surprise people. Whether it be a character, the reader, or both. In this case it was Sherry who had quite a few informational bombshells dropped on her. One was a bit of a mystery and what the truth ended up being blew me away. As such, I found Sherry’s reactions to be mostly understandable and sometimes endearing, but sometimes, not. The heroine waffles from being smart, to overthinking things to the point of panic or goes with the flow and whips out a few one liners to lighten things up. When the dialogue is fast and witty, it’s all good. Then again, having a hunky life mate like Basil is worth fighting and changing for. And that is the one part where I wanted to slap Sherry. Yes, that ability to freak herself out occurs and at that point I smacked my hand to my head because I knew what was going to happen. It’s the only part of the book where I felt it was predictable. Sure, I knew something needed to happen to get from point A to B, I just wish it didn’t feel like I’ve read it a hundred times before. Oh well.

One thing that did not disappoint was the sensual and stimulating relationship between Basil and Sherry, especially once the life mate symptoms took effect. The writing was hot and well done but even in the midst of raging hormones and nanos, Ms. Sands injected moments rife with humor, snickers and blushing cheeks. Those were fun.

The Immortal Who Loved Me has a lot for a reader to sink their teeth into. It’s a busy book with a lot of threads being tied up, a romance to foster to fruition and a surprise reconciliation that actually made this book an even better read than I expected. It’s that depth of character and the ability of an author to reach readers with her characters that always makes Ms. Sands’ books stand out. This is a wonderful addition to the series and it’s just as sexy, witty, fun and flirty with a hint of suspense to keep a reader at the edge of their seat like many of her books, it’s easy to recommend The Immortal Who Loved Me for fans new and established. It’s a really good read.

Getting stranded has never felt so good…

Lauren Allen is on her way to meet her future in-laws when her car breaks down on a scorching, dusty Texas highway. There’s no shortage of handsome cowboys turning up to save the day, but she puts her trust in local rancher Steve Williams. From the moment she shakes his hand, his warm, calloused grip makes her hotter than she knows what to do with…

Cowboy Delight is wickedly seductive with spicy scenes that kept the pages turning until its final satisfying conclusion. I can’t believe how fast I read this story. I was highly entertained.

A sore back can be caused by muscular dysfunction, but it viagra pills can also be caused by a slipped or ruptured disc, spinal arthritis or a pinched nerve.
This is truly a sexy erotic short story with a wonderful storyline. Sure, I cringed a bit when Lauren decided to act upon her feelings even though she wore another man’s ring. But it was all the hints the author dropped that drew a clear picture for me so I could understand what was really going on and I was able to get past that issue.

The author presented me a heroine who had never loved, or truly been in love. When all these feelings started buzzing in her brain and sensations overwhelmed her senses, Lauren had an epiphany. She was a rare flower that was about to bloom for the first time, like a Chocolate Cosmos – sweet, special and beautiful. The man who coaxed her to spread her emotional wings was Steve, a widower who lost the woman he loved.

What I appreciated about the hero is that he wasn’t a martyr to his late wife. Some books make that the conflict and it’s torment. Ms. Brooks didn’t do that. Instead, this story picks up when Steve is ready to start living again. What I found amusing is that no one in town realized the hero was at that point in his life so they considered him ‘safe’. Wow, were they wrong! It was that assumption that put Lauren in Steve’s crosshairs and I enjoyed how they both discovered the truth about each other.

As is true with most of Ms. Brook’s writing, her sense of humor is cheeky, funny and at times quite clever. However, it’s toned down for this story so it complimented the personalities of the two main characters. I even enjoyed the scenes with the dog. It gave further insight into just how right the two were for each other.

The author wastes no time in getting her characters skin to skin, and even there, she put in a few giggles. It’s what made reading this story so fun. Lauren found out it’s okay to laugh during sex; that it wasn’t all ‘serious business’, and proper procedure. Nor was it all one sided. I enjoyed watching the heroine grow and change and realize who she really was, and what she really wanted. Sex with Steve played a huge role in that which is why I like this story so much. The sex had meaning; it brought joy, fun and a new beginning. It’s powerful stuff, and although it’s scorching hot and very detailed at times, the bottom line is that it’s during their lovemaking that the romance blossoms to something real and worth pursuing. It’s well done.

I also got the biggest chuckle right at the end with the zinger the author revealed. That, was a stroke of pure genius. If I could, I’d give Steve a high five.

Cowboy Delight is pure entertainment and well worth a hearty recommend. I liked Lauren and Steve and I think their happy ever after is going to be wonderful. I’m so happy I read this book. It’s a treat.
