I was immersed in a wondrous world with this quick read. It is fast paced and the main characters endeared themselves to me early on. Degare is a strong man who sticks to his convictions. He may have to do the King’s bidding but he will find a way to turn it to his advantage. He has never forgotten his first love and never regrets his actions no matter how much his heart hurts. After so many long years he has all but given up on ever seeing Alano ever again. Yet it seems that fate just may step in and reunite the two lovers once again.

The love that Alano and Degare build is strong and never wavers. The two long to be together again but life and duties keep the two men apart for years. The one thing that Degare detest doing may be the one thing that brings him his happiness. This hot story comes with a nice romance. Each man finds just what he needs with the other. Neither forgetting the love that they share and more than ready to fight for what they want. Their love may be seen as sinful by some but the men truly love each other and that love will not be denied.

With well rounded characters and a good storyline H. C. Brown does a good job of bringing the reader into Alano and Degare’s story. I enjoyed my visit to this world and found the story flying by and over before I even realized it.

The heroine’s issues present a third conflict for a reader to enjoy. There’s no shortage of adventures, suspense or drama in this novel. Saber has his hands full in trying to woo and win his reluctant mate.

I was a bit overwhelmed in the beginning because of all the unfamiliar terms. My reading time slowed considerably because I spent time digesting the newness of the words, their meaning and their effect on the main protagonists. Once that was out of the way, the author focused on what she does so well – her characters and the romance. Once Saber and Eva are alone in the uninhabited part of the island, the tale became about him and her and their growing relationship provides the most entertainment value. Saber may have teeth and claws at times but there’s something on the island that has talons 100% of the time and it’s scary. I liked that. There are a couple of other surprises too that I felt were a nice touch. One was blue and the other hot with vegetables. You’ll have to read it to find out what I’m talking about.

One aspect of books by Ms. Munro is the smoking hot sex that her characters experience between the pages. Readers will find many opportunities to use their personal fans as they follow the growth of Eva and Saber’s physical attraction and culmination – numerous times. Readers will only understand how profound that is once they’ve read the story. I liked her best at that crucial scene. It made what came after real, hopeful and it justifies my belief in their happy ever after.

There are also plenty of humorous scenes, dialogue and interaction so the drama of survival is mitigated by the lighthearted banter and silly things Eva says. The author made me smile many times as I read the book.

Erotic romance readers should find a lot to like and enjoy in Snared by Saber. Ms. Munro consistently provides her fans with stories of love on the wild side, however this novel is a bit more wild than usual. I really liked it and would definitely recommend it to readers. I especially enjoyed the sci-fi aspect of it as it provided something refreshing and out of the ordinary for me. Sometimes, cats in space are a very good thing.

The internal conflict that holds Mike back is the memory of his first wife. Yes, he loved her and still does but he needs to move on. Even he thinks so. Mike’s path is onerous because he has to truly, finally and completely reconcile his past with his present. That pivotal moment was a gut punch. It was well written, dramatic and powerful because it was full of intense emotion and pain. What a great scene. Del has to learn to compromise and trust that for once, she has the real deal, true love, and Mike isn’t simply going to go ‘poof’. She has a hard time with that transition of expecting failure to expecting success instead.

One thing about this book is the hotness of it. Once Mike realizes that Del can take anything he can dish out, he taps into sexual yearnings he’s always had but buried deep. With Del, he can be himself and once he realizes that, readers are in for some heat inducing scenes. Seems he has this thing for tying Del up and giving her orders and even spanking her when she’s ‘bad’. For Del, a tough and suffers-no-fools kind of gal, giving Mike that kind of power over her is a heady trip and one that shocks her because she had no clue she wouldn’t mind a take charge kind of guy to that extent. Throughout all the amazing sex scenes, Ms. Harte did something fascinating. She incorporated dialogue, both internal and external, throughout their mating. The author wrote them in such a way that a reader can’t simply skim over them thinking, ‘oh, it’s just another sex scene’. If they do skim, they’ll miss the growth of Mike and Del’s relationship. It’s interwoven so tightly it gives meaning to the sex and makes every single moment thoroughly readable. No mistake though; have the ice handy for a few of them.

The one character I could have done without was Grace. I understood why she was included in this story, she was a conflict foil. Still, she annoyed me. The fact that Mike’s mom acted the way she did annoyed me too. I expected better from her for some reason and the fact she kept on her stubborn blinders about Del just got my goat.

Colin was his usually rascally self. I enjoyed how the author got into his head and allowed me to follow his reasoning as to why Del would be the perfect mom for him. What he did to try to orchestrate it was adorable. All through the series, he was a lovable character and Ms. Harte made him shine in this novel.

I think this book could be read as a standalone but I wouldn’t recommend it only because I believe that the reading of it is more powerful after reading the previous three. Ms. Harte has been slowly seducing readers about Mike and Del for quite some time. If a reader wants the full effect, read at least the previous two novels. They’ll be glad they did.

Reading What to Do with a Bad Boy is like the perfect summer vacation – everything that could make the experience the best it could be, a reader gets. Mike and Del’s story is a home run and closes the series with a winner of a story. The romance is wonderful, the sex is deliciously wicked and all the characters provide that family feeling of continuity and connection. I definitely recommend this book to romance readers, especially those that like their books extra sizzling.

Action packed and crossing multiple genres, there was something for everyone in this boxed set. I didn’t love every story but there were some that stood out and made reading the set as a whole well worth the time. I’ll highlight a few of my favorites:

Silver Tongued Devils by Dawn Montgomery

I was glad I didn’t have to pick a favorite genre to choose from, I’d have had a very hard time. This one is for the sci fi lovers. A decent length; not a short story but not a full length novel either. A really nice stand-alone. The scenes were not as explicit as I’d have expected. That being said, the story line actually carried it through, kept me engaged and wanting to continue to read. I enjoyed the three main characters; a bit more background to them would have been welcomed though. It was a nice read, I’d recommend it.

Crazy, Vampire Love by Eve Langlais

I’m so the lover of vampires and I adore Ms. Langlais’ awesome talent. I’ve read more than a few of her books and she still comes through with flying colors. Can you even imagine hearing voices and everyone that knows you thinks you’re crazy? So much so that 1) you believe you’re crazy, 2) they’ve actually locked you away. I’ve wanted to read something from Paige Tyler for some time, and this was a very good opportunity. In this set Reed and Hayes are police officers and partners. Cilla is working the late shift at the coffee shop; she had been drooling and fantasizing about these lawmen for some time. The opportunity arises where they help her lock up and give her a ride home, in the name of protecting and serving of course.

This is the second book in the Badge Bunnies series but it appears to be a stand-alone.

A quick read, the story flowed well and characters were fun. There was a bit of BDSM included and that’s always a plus for me. This one was an immediate win for me because the Dom made her use her voice instead of just accepting a nod when she answered. The scenes were pretty hot and the writing created some fantastic visualizations, especially in one of the scenes. I’d recommend this and will be looking into obtaining another read by Ms. Tyler.

Chase and Seduction (Hot Country 1) by Randi Alexander

I almost started singing “I’m a little bit country”. Okay so what do you do when you are used to getting anything you want? Reno is more than happy not being in the “in crowd”, they’re both as different as night and day. One is quiet and calm the other is always on the move.

Of course Chase has a reputation that doesn’t help his pursuit of Reno, because she isn’t trying to be one of Chase’s latest conquests. But Chase is determined and he has set a course straight for Reno.

Chase and Seduction would not have been a book I’d have picked for myself to read, but it turned out to be a good story. I liked the writer’s style of writing, even though not in my genre. The story read well and characters were likable. Personally I think they would be good for each other, Reno calming Chase down, and Chase putting a bit of spark into Reno’s life. It was cute, sweet and fun. Enjoyable.

Tall, Dark and Apocalyptic by Sam Cheever

I so love the whole Apolcayptic theme that one and sci fi I’ve been snatching them up. I’m glad this one was part of the bundle. The way the story was wrote, you could just fall in the pages with the characters. The story struggled a bit at the start, but finally pulled me in and carried me to the exciting end. Easy read, well-paced. I’d like to read something else from this writer.

Overall, my impression of this box set was that it was totally entertaining and a group of well-balanced stories. I met some terrific new authors and stepped outside my comfort genre in some cases and I’m glad I did. Readers who crave the uber alpha male will likely enjoy these stories. Even though this boxed set is no longer available, the individual books can still be purchased from the authors involved.

Paul comes to her and soothes her savage beast, but in turn creates another. Where do you go when your basis for feeling is on one day? It is a tough question for a tough situation fraught with deep emotion. The long distance and deep emotional ties after embarking on a D/s relationship may be more than either of them can bear.

Or is it? You’ll have to read this wonderful book to find out. Part three is coming out in fall 2014 so don’t wait too long.

Laura meets one man who introduces her to his brother and than later in the story another brother is introduced to her and she does not even bat an eye. It seems it is just a given fact that she belongs to him as well. I have no problem with how many men she has, just with the way it happens.

These men are very domineering and make no exceptions; they are alpha males to the max. I enjoy alpha males very much but at times these men seemed to go overboard. Yet they love with their whole heart and will never let anything hurt the ones that they love. Roman, Daniel and Grant are each great men on their own and together they are a force to be reckoned with. Seeing their love for Laura made for a nice read. I also enjoyed meeting many of the other men and the brothers family. I loved their mother, she is a great character. Some characters like Laura’s ex were really just filler for me. It seemed that they were there just to tie up lose ends. Laura and her friend are both strong women and can hold their own against such strong alpha men. I also enjoyed the fact that these women were not tiny and the so called perfect size and such that woman are portrayed as a lot in society and literature.

As the story progresses I found I started to think that Laura’s story just got stranger and stranger and wondered what would come next. This is a fast paced story and the twists and turns in it did pique my interest enough to wonder if it is a start to a series or connected to others from this author and will have me searching for more from this author in the future to see.

Ask a few questions, write up a summary and go home. They walk along the beach and the experience sticks with her. No–in this instance it was the author’s prose that did it for me. The intricate bits of reaction, emotion and sheer intimacy that frankly left me breathless and wanting more. I loved it. The pain, the pleasure. All of it.

One day was all it took for Iris and Paul to connect and then Iris has to go back to the city and resume her work. Can she leave without running back into Paul’s arms? This story was a good one but I had a few technical issues with some of the scenes. During Leona’s sessions with Master Clay there were times when he manipulated her anally without lube and then times where he used it. There were other inconsistencies regarding nipple clamps. At one point he threatens to leave her in them all night and that physically cannot happen.  There was also the issue with the contract at the end-one minute she couldn’t be with anyone else and the next she is getting it on with Brad.

Overall the tension was good, the characters compelling and the neat twist at the end was great. Leona is a girl trying to figure out her kinky side and she has two very different men to choose from. Will she choose right? You’ll have to read this one to find out.

The author not only sucked me into the BDSM lifestyle once more, she sucked me into a new world: the world of Sarah and Reece, of luxury and decadence, of heartbreak and love.

The pace of the story is quick (I read it in one sitting) and Cartwright’s style is not complicated but the depth that she gives her characters in Crave goes beyond the pages. Reece and Sarah are far from perfect. As I read the novel, I had mixed feelings toward both of them. On the one hand, I understood Sarah’s fear, but on the other hand, I also had the impression that a lot of the time she was selfish. After all, she ran. She ran without saying goodbye or without giving an explanation and she returned two years later. I repeat, two years later. I seriously thought that was a ridiculously long amount of time for her to realize that she still loved Reece and wanted to try to win him back.

However, I looked past it as did Reece. He was also a complicated character. I have to say, that at first when she came back I had the annoying impression that he only reunited with her because she was now a “perfect” sub. As I read about him and what he demanded (even if unconsciously) I understood why Sarah would run and also why she would come back, for even though I had my doubts about them, their love story still prevailed. Every action, every word, every little thing had an inkling of love that wasn’t overt but was present. There was an undercurrent of emotion between them that denoted not two persons that had just met but two persons that knew each other well from before.

With intriguing secondary characters, Ms. Cartwright has also set the stage for forthcoming novels, which I will certainly read.

All in all, Crave was a wonderful read that will get romantics swooning and BDSM readers hot.
