This story was a little slow to start. The beginning of the story is more about Araton and the angel status. For me I would have liked to have seen Dexter and Araton’s relationship begin to develop than maybe work in the Angel stuff throughout their relationship. I will say that once the relationship development got started I was enthralled. I loved the way these men cling to one another from the beginning. This was definitely a relationship that anyone would be awestruck by.

Araton’s situation is one I definitely sympathize with. The poor man is really but into a position that no one would envy. Lucky for him he as a strong support system including Dexter and a few angels. They help to make his decision easier and even help intervene a few times to save his back. I just hope that his choice does not affect his relationships with these supporting characters because that would truly be sad.

I am quickly developing a fascination with angel stories and this one had only increased my need for more angelic creatures.

From the opening lines, I was pulled in to this enthralling first person story. Our main character starts us out with a preface, a bit of an introduction and his reasons for writing it all down, which I enjoyed because it allowed us to get immediately inside his head, making him a very well-drawn and likable character, a true gentleman.

When Lady Cockburn comes to him with her worries of her husband being blackmailed, Dr. Williams vows to do his best to get to the bottom of things for her, all very discreetly, of course. Then we meet Cousin Cyril, scientist turned amateur detective, who always seems to be a step ahead of Williams, certainly with more experience of the seedier side of London. There is only one short scene that could by any stretch of the imagination be called a sex scene, but there are scenes of great tenderness and affection.

The House in Birdgate Alley is a very well-written, throughly enjoyable story that plunges the reader headlong into late 19th century London. I’m very impressed with Anel Viz’ ability to write in a style that sounds as if it was written over one hundred years ago, with perfect language, voice, and tone, both for the characters of the upper classes, and for the Cockney voices and sensibilities of the others. Since the story is open-ended, I will be reading other stories by Anel Viz as soon as possible, and hoping for others featuring some of these characters in the future.

I absolutely love the relationship development in this story I think it is because you know everyone came into the relationship with a open and willing heart. One thing that I also feel needs to be mentioned is the creative imagery the author uses when describing the werewolf form of these men. I do not remember reading a story that allowed me to picture the werewolves so vividly. I knew exactly what the authors werewolves looked like because I felt as if they were standing right in front of me.

This story did include a few minor typos. I also have marked it a forced seduction because in the beginning, as the blurb states, Spencer is attacked. It is clear by each man’s personality they would never forced themselves onto someone else so it in no way reflects the relationship between Spencer, Ryder and Lucas. There is also sex that involves one of the participants in werewolf form. The werewolf form is not that of an animal but something in between. The author also leaves this story with a cliffhanger which is great for author because it guarantees I will read the next book, but just seems cruel to me the reader because I want to know what happens next now.

This is a great story for someone who enjoys good shifter stories with a strong love plot.

I liked that he put his heart out there when he meets Russ. To keep me going until then, I can visit Ms. Glenn’s other books and I know I’ll be picking up more books from this author in the near future.

Rebecca Leigh’s tale of Jay’s bravery in the face of certain doom had a great start, sometimes leaving me hanging on every sentence. The dialogue was well paced and the interaction between Jay and Raem, the sexy alien hero Jay meets on Mars, had me excited to see what happened next between them.

The chemistry was there and it popped between the two characters. With some help from an alien fruit as lubricant, the sex was exciting. I did get a bit lost with some poor editing and a middle part that sagged which threw me out of the story, especially the dream sequence. The end though, had me wishing for more on this sexy couple and hoping I could turn the page for another sex scene.

Two hunky heroes made the sex droolworthy. This is a fun read that stayed with me days after.
