Stephanie never learned how to let go and just enjoy herself, and this is a lesson Aiden and Dane are more than happy to teach her one way or another.

Stephanie’s character is one that intrigued and confused me at times. She clearly has a sense of where she wants her life to be and how she wants to get it. This type of discipline is both admirable and a tragedy in one. The tragic part about it is that she never learned how to enjoy life, she goes through it almost robotically. This is something her bosses clearly pickup up on, so they made a bet to see if she truly knew how to lighten up. In the end she clearly found some pleasure in life, but I still had to question if she figured out how to truly enjoy life and what he has to offer.

Aiden and Dane on the other hand seem to be the well rounded men any girl would dream of. That is if you can overlook the fact that they love one another as much as they love women. They both have very unique personalities, but you can also see many similarities about them as well. Dane is the quiet yet demanding type. You don’t need him to say what he wants, you just know. Aiden seems to be the more outspoken and dominant of the two. Even if Dane considers himself dominant it is clear to me that Aiden just has a little extra push to him. Together these are dangerous men who it is clear to me will get whatever they want, even Stephanie.

The BDSM aspect of this story is prevalent from beginning to end. It is a main driving factor to the storyline, and the relationship of all the parties. I truly enjoyed watching Dane and Aiden dominate each other as well as Stephanie. I have to say however, some aspects of Stephanie’s submission left me feeling a bit concerned. One being that she allowed both men to dominate her so easily and completely. I felt like she should have keep a little bit of herself. Another aspect that left me puzzled was Stephanie’s openly willingness to just accept what they said. For such a forward thinking female who was clearly goal driven she just seemed to submit almost immediately, and was unable to tell them no. Again, it just made me question her mental state and if she should even be in that type of relationship. I can say that the BDSM is complete in the story, and far from light BDSM, which I enjoyed. The author even figured out a way to incorporate some knowledge about the lifestyle, which I appreciated.

The sex in the storyline was amazing. The scenes in this story had me wiggling around in my seat more than a few times. Dillon is that for Jack, and Jack is and always has been the man to stand up for Dillon.

I really rooted for these characters, I hurt right along with them. I also absolutely adored Jack’s mom, she’s everything that Jack needs and is a great other side of the coin from his father who at one point I really hated.

I will be watching this author and this series, it had great characters that had a healthy dose of real emotions and I felt those emotions so I can highly recommend this story because it did make me feel and love and I was happy in the end.

I was disappointed to find out the reasons why Gervais committed the acts he did that caused him to be arrested and condemned. They were foolish and immature. Also, it seemed far fetched to me that Katherine could have been jailed for the reason she was. When the couple reunites, reality sets in and they have to decide if they should try to recapture the magic they felt, or go their separate ways. This part of the book dragged a bit for me because both Gervais and Katherine seemed determined to hide their feelings. I wanted them to admit to the connection they had when they thought Gervais was headed for the gallows and I kept reading to see how they would reconcile the love that was between them.

Overall, I enjoyed this short story, and recommend it for the very unique plot line. I like that our hero does some growing up, and is determined to change the way he lives his life.

Readers who love the intrigue and intricacies of a Regency historical with a healthy dose of spice should give this one a try.

At first I was surprised by how much time Mr. Bernstein spent introducing all of the characters and explaining how the legend of Witch Island began. Many horror novels leap into the action almost immediately. Once the plot thickened, though, I appreciated all of the information that had been provided about the identity of the witch and the types of people who were about to visit her island. It was easier to keep track of such a large cast of characters given how much I knew about what their lives had been like before they decided to camp out in such a haunted place.

While all of the main characters had well-developed backstories, I would have liked to get to know their personalities better. Their childhood experiences were interesting, but for most of them I never quite found the connection between those memories and their current behavior. This is a strongly plot-based tale, so I wouldn’t expect it to spend as much time on character development as it did on pushing forward to the next scene. It still would have been helpful to have a better sense of who works well under pressure or has a tendency to be too trusting though.

The horror elements of this story take a while to show up, but once they do they’re much stronger than the science fiction elements. There are some genuinely frightening scenes in here that I’m very glad I didn’t try to read after dark or while on a camping trip. It certainly would have been scary to encounter those scenes while listening to all of the unfamiliar nighttime calls in the woods, but I don’t think I would have gotten any sleep had I tried to do that!

I’d recommend Witch Island to anyone who is a fan of the gorier side of these genres. It is full of the viscerally terrifying kinds of scenes that work so well in this kind of horror.

I liked that she was comfortable with her self and that she held out for what she really wanted. I especially liked how she listened and forgave.

I really enjoyed seeing that. It re-hooked me into the beautiful plot that Ms. Bell has crafted with intricate detail. That detail is so obvious because I was able to see how little things from before lead to so much more, and how intertwined this series is. She gives enough back story that I think it could be read as a stand-alone but I truly believe that the main story arc is best enjoyed while reading the whole series.

Gareth is lonely and ready for a mate, he knows that mate is Gen, but Gen has disappeared while she hunts down her evil brothers. I loved that Gareth knows he loves Gen, and is willing to do just about anything to make her his queen. I also really adored Gareth as the wizard’s king because he is willing and ready to change the way the program works when they won’t accept his mate. It shows just how deep his love for Gen is.

Gen has a job as a Hecate’s Own, her whole job is to serve the Goddess Hecate, and she isn’t sure if that and being Gareth’s queen consort are two jobs that really mesh together. Gen is a strong, capable and independent heroine who kicks butt and takes names in her own right. The fact that she is willing and able to drop everything for the man she loves, just makes her a real character to me.

The plot and the action are well paced and the story builds beautifully and hints at the next book in series, when I’m sure the main story arc will finally be wrapped up. The plot does advance in this story, and there are hints that the magic world will be changing in the future, and I look forward to it.

I cannot recommend this book or series more. I find myself enjoying the rituals and different ways that the different sects of magic users perform magic. It’s intricate and beautiful which shows that a lot of time and thought has gone into building this world. I will be waiting anxiously for the next book.

It broke my heart when she talked about or remembered what she’d had to do to stay alive. Meeting and falling in love with Anders and Clay was both unexpected and a huge step in her life. She didn’t know if she could trust anyone enough to freely give of her body. I liked how the author didn’t make it easy for her to give them everything. It was more realistic the way she built their relationship.

There’s clearly a back story between Anders and Clay. It might have played out some in one of the prior books but I haven’t read them…yet. They obviously haven’t been intimate even though they feel something for each other. Clay is the commander of the ship and therefore has to be in control. Anders is his best friend and crew mate on their intergalactic pirate ship. This is the kind of MMF book I love to come across. There’s tension building between the guys. Small touches. Significant looks. Angst. It’s all building up to the moment they let go. I knew it would be hot and loved every minute of it. These guys are so so sweet when it comes to Siri, also. She needed that after what she’d been through.

The author sprinkles in some of Siri’s memories as they get closer to her home planet. I knew that would be significant and if they found her family it would cause additional conflict for Siri wanting to stay and knowing that the guys would eventually need to go.

There are other crew members on the ship and they come together to make a very lively cast. I enjoyed meeting the groupings that made up the other books as well. I very quickly searched out their books and look forward to reading this series from the beginning.

This book is number four in the series but it stood alone just fine. There’s a bigger picture, I think, when combined with the other three books but not having read them didn’t take away from my enjoyment of Siri, Clay and Anders’ story. Readers who enjoy well written sci/fi and some lovely MMF action should totally check this one out. Worth the read.

This is not a book for the faint of heart, it’s a raunchy, angsty and downright beautiful story. Chenco and Steve are perfect for each other, they just have to learn how to be with one another.

Chenco is an interesting character who I really loved; he has this endearing quality about him that just flat out made me fall for him. He’s strong, fierce and willing to submit to the very sexy Steve.  Steve has a lot of strength to give Chenco, but he also has some serious baggage that just won’t go away. Chenco helps him learn to be whole again and the scene where Steve lets go and finally lets Chenco take care of him just as much as Steve takes care of Chenco was beautiful and I cried.

Some of the scenes when Chenco and Steve are playing are why I say this isn’t for the faint of heart. I definitely recommend reading the warning, because it does a great job of preparing you for what’s going to happen between the two of them. I expected something so much dirtier from the warning but when the scene finally happened, it was actually kind of beautiful and fit the characters and the story.

I highly recommend this one, I’m happy to see that it left me with the same feeling as the first story, and I will definitely revisit it in the future.

Kara Sinclair is a virgin, a strong heroine and a bit weird, but I absolutely loved her. She has issues, some serious baggage, least of which is her virginity. I enjoyed that she uses bright hair and crazy clothes to keep the world at bay. I definitely related with that being her armor, and I enjoyed that when Vincent “Vin” Fox wasn’t being a bit dense he seemed to see right through it.

Vin and Kara start out with a purely physical relationship, both using and for the most part getting what they need out of the relationship. Vin needs one aspect of his life that he’s in complete control of, a part that just goes right, and at first he gets that but fate and life have a way of stepping in and saying “No, we’re going to mess with you.” Life does throw a lot of things at Kara and Vin and at times they handle it well and at others I wanted to smack them both.

This is a journey of love, and it’s not a smooth ride. It’s a rocky journey and because of that I really loved this book. They are perfect for each other, it just takes some work to get there. I will definitely be watch Ms. Ashenden, she gave me a well fleshed out story and I will be picking up more stories from her.

Another great story from Jayne Rylon and her Hot Rods Crew! In Rebel on the Run it is Bryce who gets his chance at love. As usual, Rylon has created one hell of a ride for this lusty crew. This one almost sent me and my kindle up in flames.

The Hot Rods Crew have all had some bad times. They’ve had some unique demons to slay. Bryce was a bit different, but with the same chip on his shoulder. His past comes back in this book, and it’s in the sexy form of a beloved friend. Kaelyn Duchamp can’t believe it when her old friend Bryce shows up to rescue her. She realizes that lies have been told, and at first she feels hurt and betrayed. Yet, she doesn’t stay mad for long. They can’t fight what they feel for each other, and Kaelyn embraces the sexual freedom that the entire Hot Rods Crew enjoy together.

It goes without saying that this book had some kinky love scenes, but it also had a good story to go along with that. There was nothing vanilla going on in this book. M/F, M/F/M, group sex scenes, back door action and voyeurism. Whatever floats your boat, it’s all in here. Don’t let that scare you off, though. It’s all done with feeling. These are guys and gals who truly care about each other, and Rylon shows that in their love scenes. She lets you feel it. That’s what is so good about her writing and makes it work for me.

This plot was okay, with most of the conflict being personal. No doubt that there was a nasty threat that drove Bryce onto the streets, and later sent Kaelyn on a flight for freedom. But for me, it lacked intensity because it happened outside of the moment. Overall, the book was well written, and flowed easily. I got the kinky love scenes and a happy ending. So I am a happy reader.

All in all, this was a fun, sexy read. I enjoyed it immensely. I am already looking forward to Holden and his lucky lady.
