Throw back a shot of pure pleasure.

Leo Petrova is between a rock and the hard place in his pants. Shot of Sin, the night club he owns with his two best friends, is short one bartender downstairs. The only available replacement is the upstairs bar manager—the one woman Leo knows he can’t take downstairs, can’t have, can’t touch. The one time he gave in to temptation convinced Leo that Shay’s no match for his sexual demands.

Only a select few know Shot of Sin’s guilty secret, that beneath the packed dance floor lies a very private sex club—the Vault. The place Leo can let his sexual proclivities run wild.

But that does not seem to be the case with cute-n-tiny.com viagra 25 mg a web chemist. Sliding out of her comfort zone and into Leo’s arms risks everything. Their friendship, the Vault, and most of all, their hearts.

A guilty secret that would make their life happy or miserable.

Leo, along with his two best friends, owns a very private sex club. When they are in need of a replacement bartender for the club; Leo’s partners suggest the bar manager upstairs.  Leo introduces her to the new and completely different scene in the club all the while readying himself for losing one more woman in his life because of this.

I was very much into the book from the start. It captured my attention with all the fun characters. Each character was so different but was an important part in the story as a whole. I loved Shay but at some point her attitude put me off and confused me. Leo was not the only one with an ego in this. Every now and then I would see Shay attitude come out. Men usually fawned and smothered her so I guess it is inevitable that you develop an ego.

That being said this story went smoothly and I truly enjoyed it.

This is not a low key BDSM book. It’s based around a sex club but it is not a hardcore BDSM book either. There was a lot of voyeurism and exhibitionism in it as well as a restraining scene and white hot passion that could burn.

A Shot of Sin is perfect for the erotic lovers who like their sassy, stubborn women but also likes to see hints of BDSM without it overpowering the story.

To most of the world, Tom Paretski is just a plumber with a cheeky attitude and a dodgy hip, souvenir of a schoolboy accident. The local police keep his number on file for a different reason—his sixth sense for finding hidden things.

When he’s called in to help locate the body of a missing woman up on Nomansland Common, he unexpectedly encounters someone who resurrects a host of complicated emotions. Phil Morrison, Tom’s old school crush, now a private investigator working the same case. And the former bully partly responsible for Tom’s injury.

The shocks keep coming. Phil is now openly gay, and shows unmistakable signs of interest. Tom’s attraction to the big, blond investigator hasn’t changed—in fact, he’s even more desirable all grown up. But is Phil’s interest genuine, or does he only want to use Tom’s talent?

As the pile of complicated evidence surrounding the woman’s murder grows higher, so does the heat between Tom and Phil. But opening himself to this degree exposes Tom’s heart in a way he’s not sure he’s ready for…while the murderer’s trigger finger is getting increasingly twitchy.

Finding hidden things can be a gift worth killing over. Tom has a knack for finding old, hidden things. Not just anything, but objects with great emotion attached to them: secrets, bodies, and the ability to find leaks, which is handy in his day job as a plumber. On the side he occasionally helps the police find missing persons. In the latest case he found the dead body of a young woman that was dating a childhood friend of his. That friend hired another childhood associate turned private investigator, Phil. Phil and Tom have a sordid history as teens that ended in Tom having a permanent limp. The two somewhat reluctantly team up to find out the truth about the murder but can’t stop their personal feelings and past from interfering.

Pressure Head is the first in a new series by JL Merrow. Merrow is a great author and definitively one of my favorites for her sense of humor and distinctly British flair. There’s no question her books take place in the UK and it lends another layer of detail and interest to the story. There are so many mentions of specific neighborhoods and highways that I feel as if I could map the physical steps Tom and Phil take to solve the murder, which is simply delightful. Additionally the language, terminology, and British euphemisms make the story entertaining when they’re not commonplace to my very American sensibilities. It’s a very nice contrast to the usually bland backgrounds of contemporary books set in a familiar but unrecognizable setting.

The characters have incredible rapport and it’s to the story’s credit that they can make a romance and furthermore a relationship viable given the past between the two men. They come across as well developed, interesting, and complex in their own ways. I wish we’d gotten more insight into Phil’s thinking and motivations but Tom is a charming and engaging narrator. His humor and quick wit are sometimes over the top, I wish he’d stop with the quips on occasion, but I found him engrossing. Likewise the murder story offers a solid mystery with a seemingly endless option of culprits. The ending was over the top for me but nothing that detracted from my enjoyment. I found the explanation rational and believable, which made me like the story that much more.

I was surprised how quickly I read the story given that there isn’t a lot of action. However the budding romance between Tom and Phil as they stutter, stop, reverse, and step forward through the rocky path to their relationship offered a lot of interest. Additionally there is a whole cast of characters that are interesting in their right and help keep the story moving between the actual investigating. I especially liked that Tom seemed to really work at his day job as a plumber while trying to sleuth and have a social life. It made the story believable. This is an easy story to recommend for both mystery and romance fans as it satisfies on both levels and with the distinctly British flair it has a lot to engage even jaded readers.

Scandal between the pages…surrender between the sheets.

The Ladies Book of Pleasures, Book 1

The widowed Lady Isabel Avenbury has one remaining younger sister to shepherd into an advantageous marriage, and then she will be free. Free to take a lover to fill her lonely nights—the only option left for a woman on the delicate edge of a certain age.

Except when she chaperones her sister to a country house party, she is taken aback by her sudden, undeniable attraction to the host. And deliciously scandalized when she finds a copy of the notorious, much-gossiped-about Ladies Book of Pleasures in his library.

When Seth Rowland, Marquis Lyndham, notices his book is missing, his interest is piqued as to which of the potential young brides at his party has absconded with it—and he’s shocked to discover it’s Isabel. Though older than the women he’d planned to court, the powerful beauty exudes a sensuality he cannot ignore.

The book inspires them to begin a desperate, passionate affair. But their time together is running out and they must choose. Follow society’s rules, or take a chance at love.

What a delightful book! It had been a long time since I’d read a regency romance that felt so authentic. This was my first book by Jess Michaels, but I’m definitely going to be looking out for more from this author.

A well written novel, I was drawn into the world of Lady Isabel Avenbury and Lord Lyndham without any effort.

On the one hand, as heir to the marquis, Lyndham must find a woman to marry and produce heirs. On the other hand, Lady Avenbury, a young widow, is ready to marry her sister off and enjoy her life to the fullest–including sexually. The attraction between them is palpable but to make matters worse, the Ladies Book Of Pleasure, (a forbidden book circulating the Ton), comes into the picture, creating the best and most erotic kind of trouble for them.

Unlike many other period novels where characters seem made out of cardboard, Lyndham and Avenbury felt real and human. As their feelings and their affair developed, so did they.

Throughout the book, I laughed and smiled at the moments of joy, almost cried at certain points, and stood hanging onto the edge of my seat at others. The emotion between the characters jumped out of the book and I could do nothing but root for them and hope that everything would end well in the end, for although there is a happy ending, A Matter of Sin was not entirely predictable.

All in all, A Matter of Sin was a delightful, steamy and romantic read that had me craving for more. I will look forward to more stories featuring this infamous, Ladies Book of Pleasure.

On the run from Hunters and losing his fight against the poison, Dyami is in a race against time to convince Summer her power could change the course of the war…and that his fate is in her hands.

A rock star with a secret!

Dyami or Dy for short is not just any normal rock star drummer. He’s a wolf. A wolf in a lot of pain. He’s willing to do anything to distract himself and his wolf from the poison in his body. However, when he sees Summer, his mate, inside the tattoo shop… Everything changes.

Summer was a restless tattoo artist who moved from place to place looking for something until she arrived in town. She immediately felt at home when she arrived. But when she met the local famous drummer at her tattoo shop she felt something else entirely. Too bad her boyfriend picked that moment to walk in. This is the day her life did a 360 turn.

The first thing in my mind when I finished reading Spell Weaver was that I have to read more. It was a very good book but the only problem I had was that there seemed to be a lot of missing background info. Between the plot, the characters and the chemistry between Dy and Summer I almost forgot about the background info. It was that good but in the end it still wasn’t quite complete since there were unanswered questions.

Considering this is the fourth book in this series I think it might be understandable. The questions I had could have been answered in the first three books. Just in case, I would suggest that readers start the series from the beginning.

In my opinion Spell Weaver is a descriptive read that will engage each of the readers in an urban fantasy world that will draw them back to this series time and again.

Sometimes, the dead are best left in peace.

Jessica Backman has been called to help a strange family living on a haunted island in Charleston Harbor. And why is Jessica the only one who can plumb its dark depths?

Island of the Forbidden serves up a chilling mystery that is made for an episode of paranormal reality television.

What evil lurks beneath the facade of the well known Ormsby mansion; a mansion with a history though out Charleston Harbor for its haunting family massacre? Jessica Backman and Eddie Home have been summons by the new owners to investigate strange happenings on the Ormsby Island. and they will soon discover the horrific events that will leave readers with goose-bumps.

Jessica seems to be running from her past when she hesitates to return Eddie or her Aunt Eve phone calls. I am not sure if there was a novel before this one, but the relationship between Jessica and Eddie feels like they had a shaky past working as a team before. There is a lot of reference to a previous event but only hints of it, no details as to what actually happened that made them so stand-offish towards each other. For something that was mentioned quite a bit I found it strange that the full details of what happened was not revealed some time during this read.

The book did seem to have a few slow parts of just watching and discussing what the EBs (energy beings) were doing. The island is known for having a horrific past, so of course Jessica did her research on the island history and what happened there but they didn’t seem to have devised an immediate plan of action to take. Then, unbeknownst to Jessica and Eddie, psychic medium Nina D’Arcangela shows up at the house. The additional people being invited brings about a different view of the owners agenda. Not knowing who to trust, Jessica and Eddie decide to leave the island, but the EBs doesn’t like this idea and will insure that Jessica and Eddie stay to get justice for the Last Kids. Once Nina and the team starts stirring up the EBs emotions, this is when the action picks up and Jessica and Eddie’s investigation starts to move along. This was my favorite part of the book. The way the author tells the story with such details and the characters all in motion delivers such an explosive ending.

The plot was well developed and written in a chilling manner. The author has a talent for writing that flows and tells a story of interest, along with building a creative story with high levels of hair-raising eerie feelings that comes along with reading such sinister subject matter. Eddie’s ability to see the dead around him left me with a ‘somebody’s watching me’ feeling. The cold temperature of the island and how the EBs drew Jessica’s power left me with chills.

Island of the Forbidden is a paranormal read that I would recommend.

Simply unforgettable…and wildly dangerous.

Manhattan Ten, Book 4

Angelina Márquez’s perfect memory recall makes her ideally suited to manage the Manhattan Ten superhero crew, a task that sometimes borders on insanity. Still, the price of being everything to everyone is high.

A recruiting trip to UCLA does nothing to cure her chronic insomnia. Intel indicates someone in the L.A. Pack may be harboring anti-super sentiment. On top of that, she’s sent to retrieve a straight-out-of-the-jungle panther shifter being detained at LAX.

Tequani was looking forward to visiting his hero brother, but when civilization unexpectedly brings out his claws, he’s court-ordered to stick with Angel while his paws are on U.S. soil. He’s fully prepared to be bored out of his skull—except Angel’s talents and beauty fill the vacant places in his soul.

Angel can’t seem to stop Quan from burning himself into her mind, right down to the exact dimensions of his abdominals. But when they fall into a trap, survival means pooling every one of their talents. A move that could balance their souls…or throw their hearts into dangerous chaos.

A wild panther shifter loose in the LAX!

Angelina is the babysitter or the manager for the Manhattan Ten with total recall ability. Meaning she never forgets a thing. There is a super hero group for every area like New Orleans and such. And Angelina AKA Angel manages the Manhattan group. They save the humans from paranormal threats.

A hero recruitment program in UCLA goes haywire when she’s sent to retrieve a wild panther shifter in the airport but also has to figure out who is siding with the anti-supers.

This is my first time to read a Manhattan Ten book,  so I was surprised to find I totally fell in love with the characters. I’m not only talking about the main characters. This was written in a way that the appropriate reaction is shown for the appropriate character.

Angel is a strong iron-willed woman with a skill that could put a damper on some aspects of a relationship. So I was curious to see the development of the chemistry she had with Quan, the wild panther shifter she rescued in the airport.

Quan is a panther shifter who has literally lived in the jungle until he thought he needed a change and tried to travel without a Visa. He not only gets tangled in conspiracy and but he finds his mate.

Since this is the fourth book I think that Ms. Dodge did a good job providing a lot of background info but I would still say that there was some that was missing. However, for me the highlight was the relationship between Quan and Angel right up until the climax.

The plot was foggy for me at first. The past played such a big role in this but in the end I understood what was going on. I still had some questions that went unanswered. I would suggest for the readers to start from the beginning. This doesn’t mean that this could never be read as a standalone, but to really understand the plot I suggest starting from the first book in this series.

There’s a lot going on in this short story and readers who want action with a heaping helping of the paranormal should check this out for a quick read.

But Janie knows more than most that a rock star can never be more than a fantasy. When she runs into Cole again, can he convince her that what they have is real, and true love never dies?

I enjoyed this book. It was a second chance at love romance that pulled me into the story right from the beginning.

While this book was a light read for me, it covered some serious material that really packed an emotional punch. Cole Kennrick, bad boy rock and roller, is back to claim the woman he lost but never stopped loving. It’s been years since his addictive lifestyle of sex, drugs, and rock and roll ultimately cost him his marriage to Janie, the love of his life. Now it’s six years clean and sober and Cole wants another chance. Janie still loves Cole, but she is afraid to trust him again. Their road back to happiness is a bumpy and sometimes painful one that made this such a good read.

It was a romantic story that flirted with a light BDSM element. While it had a lot of steamy sex scenes, the author kept them secondary to the plot which was about getting love right the second time around. It’s about redemption and learning to trust again. Love and trust can be hard for any couple, but these two had years heartache and loss to overcome. Then came the inevitable train wreck that had me majorly ticked at Janie for a while.

This book was well written and had an easy flow. It was short, but had very charasmatic characters that made up for the length of the story. Yes, I fell hard for Cole. The bad boys get to me every time, and since there is always one character that captures my heart, this time it was Cole. It was also an emotional read as Cole and Janie had a reckoning of sorts.

All in all, I liked this book. It was a good read for this happy reader.

Strong, even pacing encouraged me to read this whole thing in one sitting. The first scene plops the reader down into an adventure that is already taking place. It was up to me to put all of the pieces together as everything unfolded. The heavy focus on the plot was a good match for the themes and overall tone of this tale.

There is a pretty large cast of characters here considering that this is a short story. While all of them play important roles and I wouldn’t want to see anyone taken away, it took me a long time to figure out who was who. It would have been really helpful if the narrator had quickly introduced all of the characters in the first scene so that I could have spent more time enjoying the plot itself.

One of the things I look for in horror is a really scary villain. It’s difficult to discuss the antagonist without giving away spoilers, but Mr. Faherty has found a good balance between describing what I should fear and allowing my imagination to fill in some of the details on its own. It’s often more frightening to not know everything, after all!

Cult of the Black Jaguar is not for the faint of heart, but definitely give it a try if you like your horror on the bloody side.

People living in small towns can be great at keeping secrets, so it should come as no surprise to Lil Ron that his questions about the past aren’t always welcomed. If only he knew who was willing to talk.

It took me a little while to realize how much I liked the dialogue in this piece. Every character has a unique voice, and I was soon able to identify who was speaking simply by paying attention to how they strung their words together. Mr. Rolfe was so good at this that he could have almost written all of the dialogue without ever mentioning who was speaking.

There were many shifts between narrators. This was confusing at times for me, especially since the cast of characters is large for a story of this length. I had trouble keeping track of how everyone was connected. The premise itself was strong, but I couldn’t help but to wonder if it would have worked better as a full-length novel so that there would have been more time to explore Sweet Kate’s life and death in greater detail.

The plot twists in this tale kept me on my toes. While I was able to figure out many of them ahead of time, Mr. Rolfe still surprised me on one or two occasions. What I enjoyed the most about them was how subtle the clues were about what was about to happen. I had to pay very close attention to what was happening in order to make accurate guesses about what might be around the next corner.

I’d recommend Abram’s Bridge to anyone who enjoys contemporary paranormal fiction.

Nothing about Reese’s big day goes according to plan. She walks down the aisle to marry one man, and winds up in a Vegas wedding chapel with another. After a hot night with Tony, the only thing Reese regrets is that her new husband doesn’t remember anything about it.

Reese suspects the marriage is going to end badly, especially when Tony offers her a million dollars a month to stay married—who does that? But walking away from him turns out to be harder than she’d thought. Especially as she starts to know the man behind the wallet.

This book was an enjoyable read. It is book two in The Billionaire Bargains Series, and was very well done. It was romantic and sexy, and had an entertaining plot that caught my attention right away.

Super rich Tony Steele has wanted Reese for a long time. One wedding day confession later and these two friends tie the knot in Vegas. Then they realize that they don’t actually know each other all that well. While Tony is used to fixing everything with money, he soon finds out that it’s not that easy with Reese. She demands more than money from Tony. She needs him to actually get involved, and he realizes a few things about himself along the way.

I connected with the couple. I felt their relationship was real, the conflict was that they had to work on some things. It made it more believable to me as the reader. The next thing was how well I liked the characters themselves. Reese had a good heart, while Tony lived large. To tell the truth, I fell hard for Tony right from the beginning, but it took me longer for Reese. Now for the juicy part which for me is always the love scenes. These two had no problem in that department. They had chemistry that sizzled, and sex scenes that burned up the pages.

All in all, this was a good story that I enjoyed reading. It was well written, had an easy flowing plot, and characters that were likeable. I would recommend it.
