Michelle Houston writes intriguing shifter stories. Not only does she twist the boundaries, she makes new ones that are fabulous. In her stories, the shifters can’t heal by shifting. That makes it worse. I loved it because it made her book unique. I also loved that Scott cared for not only the little baby bunnies, but all animals. He’s a genuine, all-around hero.

My only quibble? I wanted to know more about Cris. He’s intriguing. How’d he get there and what’s his story? I loved having Scott’s side of the relationship, but being a nosy-nelly, I wanted Cris’s side as well. Still, this is a short story and it works. In fact, I found myself not wanting the story to end.
