For her this becomes more than fun when she has to choose between the men who taught her so much. All three were into her and were able to work together during the passionate sex they had, but they wanted her to choose one of them. Even with her struggle to choose, this is a HEA. The author ties it all together in the end with a very satisfying conclusion worthy of a romance. This one is for readers who like a little, or a lot, more spice and sexual adventure with their romance.

How do you do that when you have had a brush with the incredible?

Sam is an interesting character. Also known as “Master Demon”, he failed to provide Lexi with a safe virgin D/s experience, so he tries again to stay in her life as plain old Sam, a vanilla style boyfriend. Let’s just say that Lexi isn’t fooled for long and karma can really be a nasty boomerang when you are looking the wrong way.

Although Artemis would have made a good made for any one of the warriors, it is only when they are all together that they are truly complete.

Of course there are many warriors in the Badlands including those sneaky little ninjas. I love those guys even if I’m never quite sure what they are up to and how much of the truth they know. They are fun, even if their concept of a woman’s place is way off, but it will be greatly amusing to see them taken down a peg or two when they meet their mate.

In the battle for love, losing is not an option. Spartans are known as the fiercest of all warriors, but they never fight more fiercely than when protecting the ones they love, even if it is from themselves. Badland Warriors: Spartans takes you deep into the heart of the badlands and the warriors that fight there, unraveling some of the mystery only to find that there are that many more questions left unanswered.

Shara Azod’s Badland Warriors: Vikings takes a new look at an old desire, to create the perfect soldier, or soldiers as the case may be. Swede, Dane, and Nor are genetically engineered Viking warriors, created in a laboratory to protect the population at large and keep the borders between civilization and the Badlands secure. Amy is a soother working in a bar not far from the border. When the four meet it’s love, it’s lust, it’s fate, with a pinch of meddling Elders, and a whole lot of government conspiracies.

The government genetically engineering “perfect soldiers” is not a new concept, but no matter how many times I’ve seen it in movies or read about it in books I’m always left in awe of the hubris of mankind. Nobody ever thinks that when you create these super strong intelligent warriors that they will be smart enough to figure out when you are lying to them; not the scientist that create the soldiers, or the military that wants to exploit them, or the government that wants to control them.

Now you don’t actually meet any of the scientists or government officials in the story, they are more of a shadow agency lurking in the background. I understand that the threat of their presence is more compelling than their actual presence, the unknown is always scarier than if you can put a face to your enemy. But I think it would have been interesting to meet the men and women who created the soldiers, maybe even have one that acknowledges that what they are doing might not be exactly kosher and try to help the warriors find out the truth.

Like the scientists, the Elders are instrumental to the story even if you don’t meet them until the end. They are the leaders of the rag tag band of survivors that are living in the Badlands; they have knowledge, and wisdom, and most importantly are the ones that sent Swede, Dane, and Nor on their little excursion that led them to meet Amy. The impression is given that like most good Elders, these ones are somber and serious most of the time. However they have lived long enough and seen enough atrocities in life to take joy where they find it and they are not above having a laugh at the expense of the warriors. This includes ninjas, and while Vikings traditionally work in threes the ninjas work alone, but as Swede, Dane, and Nor find out this is not always the case, or perhaps it was just another lie that they had been told. While trying to escape with Amy the warriors come across a pair of ninjas, who actually help them to escape rather than stop and/or kill them. The ninjas don’t just help out of the goodness of their hearts, they have questions and want answers. Although the Vikings tell the ninjas how to get into the Badlands so they can find their answers, you never see the ninjas again. I would have liked to know what happened to them, if they ever made it, or if they were double crossing the Vikings to get access and launch a surprise attack.

Despite the close bond that Swede, Dane, and Nor share as well as the circumstances of their “birth”, they each have a distinct personality. Their personality differences are subtle when dealing with each other, because they have such a strong mental bond, but they become more pronounced when dealing with Amy. Of course due to their genetic makeup the differences in the warriors serve only to enhance their ability to work as a team, not detract from it. Despite their differences the one thing they all agree on completely is the need to keep Amy safe. I think it’s great that at various times each of the men envy one of the others for finding just the right words to explain and comfort Amy as they try to get her to safety. They look on with awe as one of them soothes her fears with a touch and the right words, and then moments later they are doing the same thing themselves. Their bond might have happened quickly but their is no doubting the strength of their love and devotion to each other.

Shara Azods Badland Warriors: Vikings is a page turner full of fun and witty turns of phrase that leave you laughing out loud and wanting more. Just remember “In the Badlands you can scream all you want. No one gives a damn.” And why would you want them to? After all, it would get down right annoying having all that good sex constantly interupted.

Her kindness and free spirit are just a couple of the qualities that attract the attention of construction crew mates and best friends Dave, James and Neil. Kayla has no idea just how open-minded and close these guys are but due to an “unforeseen” circumstance she gets the opportunity to experience their relationship up close and in person.

The reader is introduced to the close knit and uninhibited construction crew that one by one have each discovered the loves of their lives and briefly sharing that love with the rest of the crew. One of the particulars about the series that I’ve enjoyed is that there isn’t jealousy between the women who are introduced to the group. You know that they don’t regret the experience of being with the other men but are totally in love with each book’s chosen hero. This holds true with book three as Kayla and Dave realize their own special connection and then enjoy the time they have with James and Neil.

If you have no objection to the M/M interaction you will surely enjoy the love between James and Neil. There is a fourth book in the series already planned and you get a little teaser towards that plot when Dave relates a vivid dream he has while at Kayla’s house. I can’t wait!!

This has been one of my favorite series and each new book is much anticipated. While I can’t wait to see who Ms. Rylon pairs with James and Neil (they have to be a package deal, believe me!) I’ll be a little sad to see the end of the power tool books. When you become that invested in a storyline you know you have discovered a real gem. Pick up a copy of Kayla’s Gift even if you’ve not read the other two the series. I think you’ll be burning up the internet to add them to your TBR list after you realize what a terrific group of stories Ms. Rylon has penned.

Janie doesn’t know why she succumbed to Dall and Cavan and she’s not totally sure why she had to come back, but the fact that she does—on Christmas, no less—is a fun way to celebrate their connection.

The reader is drawn in immediately and the power of the four people in this novella holds you until way past the last page.

These questions as well as the intense sex scenes kept me reading, not wanting to stop. A scorching read that I highly recommend.

This is an entertaining story about a group of people finding love and acceptance and most of all a family with one another in a very unconventional relationship. In this futuristic story, Dr. Emilia Hypatia, takes a job on board the Tamora Bight and finds more than she expected when she meets her crewmates, Caphis Bates, Ford Caliban and the Captain Aaron Lucio. The story exudes sensuality as the four come together in some very passionate scenes as they bond with and get to know Emi better. In addition to the passion, the group also bond outside of the bedroom as they learn more about each other and work together on board their ship.

Caphis, Ford, and Aaron already have a strong bond from being comrades and from their shared experiences over the years and the author demonstrates this through their concern and protectiveness of one another. Caphis and Ford are so close that they have been nicknamed “the twins” because they often say the same thing at the same time, which added some humor to this story. These men are very private individuals and are reluctant to share more with people who aren’t part of their crew. After several rejections, they find it hard to believe that Emi would accept their unusual lifestyle and it is evident in their words and demeanor. Aaron is especially protective of his crew as he doesn’t wish them to be hurt. This causes him to come across as rude and cold at first, but once his reasons are revealed his behavior is understandable.

While the four come together to form a whole thanks to their chemistry and obvious attraction to one another, each character also has a distinct personality and the author did a wonderful job of using Emi to point out these differences in the men. Having lost her parents at a young age, Emi has longed for a family and with the crew of the Tamora Bight, she finds it. However, there are times where she felt a bit left out and I could really sense and feel her anguish as she too feared rejection by these men. The story is told from Emi’s point of view and at first I was a bit confused as to why we only get to see her side of things, but as the story progresses and a huge twist is revealed, it all becomes apparent and I applaud the author’s choice.

As for this unexpected and interesting twist, I won’t spoil it, but it definitely surprised me as I never saw it coming. Yet as I thought about it, I realized that the author dropped subtle little hints throughout the story and I never realized what they were all leading up to. I thought the author did a beautiful job of doing this and it really made the story stand out to me as everything fell into place.

Overall the story is a very emotional one, more so than I initially thought it would be as I read the description. While it does have scorching hot and touching love scenes between all of the main characters, it also has heart as the four bond and form an unconventional relationship. The group becomes so close and emotionally linked that I ached for them toward the end during one of the most emotional and pivotal scenes of the story, however, I don’t want to say too much for fear of spoiling it. I will say that the author did a fabulous job of making me care about these characters and allowing me to experience and feel their pain and emotion with her words. I was drawn into this fascinating world and relationship and loved every minute of it.

Love at First Bight has more than earned a spot among my keepers and I look forward to reading more of what this talented author has to offer.
