This author was a new-to-me author, but this won’t be the last of Marty Rayne’s books I read. At first, I wasn’t sure I’d like the book. The characters, primarily Kyle, have a lot of emotional baggage. But instead of being ultra-emotionally heavy, this book is a good balance of kink and feelings. The writing is tight and I found once I started the book, I couldn’t put it down.

As I said, there is lots of emotion in this book. It’s no surprise. Kyle lived through a soul-beating time and the memories still haunt him. He’s scarred and scared, but in Nate’s willing hands, he can heal. I liked that Kyle had issues. It made him more realistic and I rooted for him to find closure and to move past his yesterdays. Dakota has had a rough life, but his experiences shaped who he became. Those same experiences are essential to Nate and Kyle.

Oh, and did I mention the love scenes? I’m still fanning myself. Whew. The devotion between Kyle and Nate is palpable and when Dakota enters the mix….watch out.

What is not to love about these characters? Constantine’s determination shows in everything he does including caring for his mates. Christian seems to be the level-headed one in the relationship. The scenes were so explosive not only did the characters pass out, but I needed a rest after reading a few of them.

I have read stories by Stormy Glenn and Joyee Flynn but never one they co-authored. I have to say this is the best of stories. I did not have the pleasure of reading the two previous Delta Wolf stories but I will be going back to read them ASAP and reading every Delta Wolf story that comes after this. You need to do yourself a favor and buy this story immediately — you will not be disappointed.

I think the secrecy presented at the beginning of this story gives it an exciting little twist. Kyler has no idea who these two guys are in his room but he quickly recognizes one thing — they want more than just a few dollars. They want his body and he is helpless to do anything about it. As a reader I was both appalled and exhilarated all at once so I can imagine how Kyler felt.

From the moment the book started you knew the relationships would work. The attraction and bond was clear, even during Monte and Doc’s first encounter. Plus the sex was spectacular. I would like to have seen a little more action between all three men together but that is just me being greedy. While it can sometimes be difficult to write about a ménage – particularly when it includes three men – the author did not seem to have any problem.

I would recommend this story to anyone looking for an exciting ménage featuring some spectacular characters.
