Eric and Ty are both brilliant characters, and perfect for each other. I loved how their relationship grew the longer they spent together. The new characters introduced helped to give the story that little bit of oomph to move it along. I love the names of the kids and think the film that inspired them is one of the best around! I was just glad to see this lot having a happier ending than the original ones.

If you are looking for a book that isn’t too deep and a bit out of the ordinary, then I have no hesitation in recommending this one. I would love a follow-up, just to see how everyone is getting along!

Drew has been in captivity a long time, helping keep his friends alive by giving of his own healing energy. Lee is like a whole new world for him, because Lee’s life force bolsters his, and Drew knows he’s found the other half of his soul. Now he has to learn he can’t save everyone if he wants to stay with Lee. Can they find a way to do what they must and still love each other?

Lee was eager to do everything he could to help reclaim those who had been cruelly caged by the Brotherhood. He knew the part he played was small, but he enjoyed helping as much as possible. When he rescues five wolves, on in particular draws him in on a deep level. Can he and Drew save each other?

I found this to be a really emotional and tender story. Drew is a very special werewolf and while it’s heartbreaking at the start in a few places, I adored his character and powers. I felt he and Lee were quite well matched, despite Lee initially not having much of a clue what was going on with Drew. Despite the fact they’re both werewolves in many ways they come from very different worlds and so Lee has a fair bit to learn in quite a short space of time. The depth of his connection and love for Drew, however, help make Lee a fast learner and I adored how soon they were both on the same page.

I was quite curious about the four other wolf shifters who were rescued – and the one who ran away right at the start of the story. A part of me hopes there might be at least a few more stories in this series coming down the line some time. The prologue and epilogue also hint at an upcoming story of a different couple. It felt a little weird that only the very beginning and end of the story showed this pairing but it was certainly a good lure to whet my appetite for the next few stories to come. Despite this story being part of a larger series I felt for the most part it stood very well on its own. I don’t feel readers will need to have read anything else in this paranormal world – nor the series itself – to really enjoy and follow along with the plot and characters – Lee and Drew’s romance in particular.

With some sensual and steamy love scenes and a lot of emotion and hurt/comfort/healing type of plot this was a really intense but lovely short story. I adored Drew and Lee and really enjoyed their story and watching them learn and love each other. I really hope there are a few more stories about the strong cast of secondary characters and will keep a close eye out for any more stories that follow this! Recommended.

Love is trying to catch up to two lonely men. Can they stop long enough to let it?

Running defines Kincaid’s life. It’s not until he loses it that he realizes how isolated he’s become. But even if an injury hadn’t forced him to slow down, the hottie in the yoga studio would have given him pause. In fact, admiring the man each morning is the only thing keeping the spring in his step when it feels like he’s lost everything.

Owen’s busy life as a yoga instructor doesn’t leave him much time to meet guys, let alone date. He’s convinced his passion for helping people is worth the sacrifice, but he’s willing to spare a few moments for the cutie who walks past the studio every morning.

When their lives intersect and romance is set in motion, they stumble off the starting block. But no matter the obstacles in their path, this race won’t be over until they reach the finish… together.

Kincaid knew almost nothing about yoga, except that the handsome dreamboat of an instructor, Owen was insanely flexible and hot as hell to look at. After an injury has Kincaid looking more seriously into picking yoga up to help with his rehabilitation, Kincaid’s eyes are open to a completely different set of exercises and outlook. And Owen is eager to help him out.

This is a fun and modern short story. I loved how skittish Kincaid was to start with – I felt it very realistic considering Kincaid was a die-hard marathon runner, used to pushing through the pain and stretching his body to the limits. The idea of yoga was completely alien to him and while Kincaid remained delightfully open minded, I felt it the author did a good job balancing out this openness with a healthy dose of skepticism. And Owen was a hunky and adorable characters, so I was really well pleased to feel the spark between them and get a good sense of their chemistry.

Readers looking for a heavily erotic story won’t find that here, but I really appreciated how the chemistry between the two men was so intense. The sexual tension between Owen and Kincaid was delicious and grew at a lovely pace, really leading me as a reader along on their journey. I also was pleased that the plot of Kincaid’s injury wasn’t just sidelined for the men’s relationship – but was a solid and strong part of the whole story and carried right through. When Kincaid and Owen finally do consummate their relationship it was delicious and I felt it was well worth the wait.

With sexy characters and a really interesting and relatable plot, this was a great short story that I really enjoyed.

Val got his education on the streets and just wants to be loved. Corey is a Teaching Assistant who wants Val and has since school. Surely nothing can go wrong, right? Wrong! In this fast-paced novella, Val is cursed but it is Corey who ends up in the biggest predicament.

This is the sixth book in the Celestial Mates series and I do wish I had read the others prior to reading this one. I think it would have given me more information about just what is going on. Now, to be fair, this story is understandable and I felt for Val and Corey. It’s just, for me, I would have liked more information about the characters who appear in this and who actually play a rather big role.

Saying that though, this was a very good coffee-break book because it’s a quick and easy read. If you’re looking for a short read for a lunch break, then I recommend Soft Steel.

After years apart, Leo and Gene are finally back together and Leo has managed to talk Gene into coming back to California, even if only for a short time. Can the two men find a way to make a fresh start on their new relationship?

This short story is really a continuation of the first in the series “Going Back”. Readers who don’t mind picking up a story mid-way through shouldn’t find this a problem at all, but I’m personally very glad I’d read the first story shortly before picking this one up or I think I’d have felt quite lost and not understood the immediate past and steps leading Leo and Gene to where this book picks up. There’s also quite a few plot-points – such as the threats Gene has been receiving and a stray teenager, Joseph, that were properly laid out in the previous story and I feel picking up this story cold might be confusing to some readers.

The chemistry and sizzle between Leo and Gene though was strong and really well written to my mind. The two men have quite a history from more than a decade ago and even though they’re both eager to start fresh I genuinely feel that it’s the conflict and compromise between the two men that really makes the romance of this story so strong. Once the various plot elements began working together though I found the pace of the story to be fast and really entertaining and the story just flowed into a smooth, quick read.

With plenty of danger and action, not to mention some seriously hot sex and sizzling chemistry I found this to be a good and quick read. I enjoyed seeing the resolution to the plot and loved the growth in the relationship between Leo and Gene. A good, fun and sexy read.

A very welcome addition to this series!

This is book 4 in the Sin City Uniforms series, and you don’t NEED to have read the other books, but I would recommend you at least read book 2, Copping an Attitude. There are some things that happen in THAT book that have a direct impact on Brett in THIS book. They are all rather good though!

Cole’s reaction to Brett is deep and powerful and vice versa and I loved that Brett fought a great deal against his feelings for Cole. They shared one night, just a “be there for each other” type thing, after a particularly difficult day for them both but very VERY quickly, it turns into more.

They have crazy hot chemistry, right from the beginning. Cole brings some things into Brett’s bed that he never tried or thought to try before, and I did enjoy Brett learning as much as Cole did showing him.

There is a scene in this book, that I did not enjoy. I didn’t want to read it, but I understand that is really is part of Cole’s life BEFORE Brett. I just didn’t like, is all!

Both guys have a say, in the third person. Previous characters pop up, but not all of them. And I was glad that Brett could be friends with his ex, even after what he did in book 2.

There is some overlap towards the end of this book and book 5, Negotiating Love and having read that book already, I knew what was going on, but it was great to read said bits from Cole’s point of view.

I am enjoying this series, all earning 4 and 5 star ratings from me, but to be honest, this was probably my least favourite of the bunch. Still, I read it in one sitting, and I DID enjoy it for the most part.

Gotta love being kept on your toes til the end!

This is book one in the Texas Heroes series, I have already read book two and I don’t think reading out of order made any difference, except having spoilers from book one in book two.

I really enjoyed the way the tale tangled itself around Danny and Jake, the way I was kept on my toes with the whodunnit. I didn’t actually put the pieces together fast enough and all was revealed before I did! Loved that! The revenge that is Jake’s driving force isn’t fully laid out immediately in the book, but the blurb gives it away. I liked that very quickly it took a step back behind Danny’s safety.

I’m not giving anything away by mentioning Danny’s abusive father, it’s in the blurb, but that man is a nasty piece of work!

I didn’t think it was as explicit as book two, and it’s not really needed but the level of violence is much higher and quite graphic in places. It is needed, I think, to get the point across.

Both men have a say, in the third person, and both voices is clear and distinctive, showing their very different upbringings.

I like the way Ms Anastasi spins her tales, be one to watch I think. I found some M/F books this author writes too, and might try them!  4 good, solid stars.

Ollie Tomilson had gotten used to being the odd one out—a kid in the system, a lone human in the werewolf pack and a man who is always just temporarily visiting in a town where people put down deep roots.

While Patrick and Ollie seem different in many ways, what unites them is that neither fits into the Harrington Hills mold. But maybe—just maybe—they can find what they are searching for in each other.

If you are an Alpha shifter, then being thrown out of your own pack and going to a new one, even if choosing that pack was your choice, it’s still going to sting a bit! He is human and had his own issues growing up among shifters. Together, these two need to figure out just what is going on, and if they can move forward or not.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Harrington Hills series so far, this book included. The characters are all wonderful, with their own foibles and idiosyncrasies that keep it interesting. I did find I missed the wisdom of the Alpha Pair this time around though. Patrick and Ollie were sorting things out by themselves, and that was fine. I just missed the warmth and comfort the Alpha Pair provide, but that’s just me.

The pacing of this book was smooth, and there were no errors that I noticed. Harrington Hills is a cozy place, and nothing in this book jarred from that. There is character development both individually and together. With small cameos from previous characters, this was a welcomed addition to the series and definitely recommended by me.

After flunking the first class of Werewelsh, Seiji knows he will need help in passing it the next time around. Nicholas agrees to tutor Seiji and they each end up leaning a lot more than expected.

This is an interesting and intensely plotted short story. Readers looking for a complicated paranormal world with loads of different elements will likely find this exactly what they’re looking for. I felt a little overwhelmed trying to keep a handle on the various paranormal entities, plus various packs, leaders and different rules and leadership styles mentioned. It felt a little complicated as there were a number of different styles and systems that all interacted together. It could have been more difficult for me, personally, as I’m not used to stories and worlds that juggle so many different moving parts like this, but I feel it will be excellent for readers who enjoy complexly plotted worlds and intricate interactions like this.

I really enjoyed Seiji and Nicholas’ characters. I wasn’t certain at first if they were well suited – Seiji being a little introverted and repressed due to his pack’s intolerance and Nicholas being a far more open and free spirited type of character. But I was pleased to see the two men brought out the best in each other, Nicholas showing Seiji that exploring his sexuality was a good thing and Seiji helping to give a bit of calmness and direction to Nicholas. I really felt like the two men complimented each other in all sorts of areas and I was pleased to watch their relationship flourish and deepen to something more than a summer fling.

I was also pleased that even though Seiji and Nicholas became intimate fairly early on in the story, their relationship deepened and grew more serious quite slowly. This gave them both a chance to overcome their personal differences and two vastly different upbringings. I enjoyed seeing them both come to find a middle road and it made their relationship and the strength of their feelings for each other a lot more realistic and believable to me.

With a strongly plotted and complicated paranormal world and two interesting main characters with plenty of hot and explicit sex this is a good short story that I feel will appeal to many readers.
