What is “normal”?

When Brandon Kenner shows up at Kasey Ralston’s garage with a 1970 Chevelle SS 454, Kasey is smitten by both the man and his car. But Kasey is hiding an embarrassing secret: his love for old muscle cars goes beyond what most would consider normal. His unusual fetish has kept Kasey isolated—estranged from his family and even distant from his coworkers.

In fact, he finds Kasey intriguing, and he’s determined to have him for himself.

Everything about Brandon revs Kasey’s engine, and he’s more than willing to get down and dirty with the charming man. What worries Kasey is what will happen after. Is there any chance of a future for them? In the past, expecting anything long-term has only led to heartbreak. But Kasey can’t help hoping that, despite Kasey’s fetish, Brandon will be the exception.

Kasey likes to keep his head down at work. A mechanic, specializing in muscle cars, he’s found once too often to be the butt of his “friends’” jokes. So he likes to stay invisible. Enter Brandon, a new client who himself reluctant to leave his baby in the hands of a stranger without checking the mechanics knowledge. Insisting on speaking personally to Kasey, the two hit it off immediately. Can they come to a mutually satisfying arrangement?

I have to confess, I’m not particularly a car person. I don’t dislike them – but I’m far from a motor-head. Even so, I found myself really enjoying this story. I loved how much Kasey adored his cars, and how they made him so horny. I particularly enjoyed how the author conveyed Kasey and Brandon’s appreciation of the muscle car so well, that I wanted to keep reading, to relish them enjoying the ride. I find when an author can make you appreciate something you’re not necessarily keen on, that’s the mark of excellent writing. I thought this story had that in spades.

This story was an interesting mixture of humour, lighthearted fun and sizzling sex. Personally, I didn’t feel any of it was particularly kinky or outrageous. While I can appreciate that Kasey feels his intense attraction to cars was a little abnormal, it really felt to me like he’d built it up in his head to be way more than it was. Getting off on (and in) older style, classic muscles cars really wasn’t that nutty to my mind. But Kasey thought it was weird, unnatural and unhealthy, which felt a little over the top to me. I feel it helped that his sexual pleasure from the car wasn’t written in a dirty or offensive manner, so I found it fun and light – rather than a deep, dark, embarrassing secret. I was surprised to find myself far more interested in Brandon and his cars, along with Kasey and his fetish, rather than the actual plot of Kasey reconnecting with his brother. I’m not sure if that mini-plot was just a little too loosely written – not pushed forward enough – or whether it was an after-thought not fully fleshed into the story, but that aspect of the plot just didn’t feel solid or given the same importance as the cars and growing relationship between Kasey and Brandon to my mind.

I really appreciated the pace of the romantic relationship between the two men. I feel the author did a great job, introducing us to Kasey (and his predilections) first, then slowly showing Brandon and Kasey coming together. Despite the shorter length of the story I was pleased with the pacing. Slow enough to be believable but sexy and hot enough to earn its erotic title.

I feel this story will really appeal to most readers, particularly those wanting a gentle M/M story or car enthusiasts. I found it fun, sexy and totally enjoyable. Recommended.

Dealing with a sexy yet stubborn sheriff, a matchmaking sister, and a terrifying blind date, Cam must somehow track down a killer, all while keeping the cats around him fed with his gourmet cat treats.

Cameron thought he’d left crime scenes and murder investigations behind him in his previous life. The two men, however, continually bumped into each other and they both became more annoyed each time until they each realised they’d have far more success working together than in opposition.

I really enjoyed this book. I found it had an extremely strong mystery plot – the vast majority of the story was Jake and Cameron trying to solve the murder. Their relationship progresses very slowly, starting initially as them being quite antagonistic toward each other and butting heads with sparks flying. I loved the pacing, slow enough to really see and experience how Jake and Cameron slowly turned to each other and watching their relationship flourish. The murder mystery plot was also excellent to my mind. While I admit I guessed some of it fairly early on, there were plenty of red herrings and fake-clues which made me question my assumptions. Solidly written, it kept me totally hooked right to the end.

While there were more than a few steamy kisses, readers should be aware that there wasn’t really anything exceptionally erotic in my view. There is a single, brief M/M sex scene between Jake and Cameron right near the end of the story. While the bedroom door is definitely left open it’s not particularly explicit and the whole scene is quite brief, albeit deliciously written. Readers used to heavy erotic romances might not feel as if this is a “full on” erotic romance, and particularly readers interested only in the sexy, steamy side of a M/M relationship might find that this plot-focused story doesn’t tick the right box for them.

Personally I loved this book – a real, proper mystery story with a lovely hint of sexiness and a good, well-worked M/M relationship. I really enjoyed this and will happily read more by this author.

With things heating up between Jack and Lucky all over London from public restrooms to five-star hotels, Jack lures the wild assassin into their sensual web. This is either gonna be the beginnings of a spicy, feisty threesome… or a triple homicide.

Jack’s having a tough time. He’s been “promoted” into a new assignment with the most violent criminals. His lover, Lucky, is on the other side of the world and has been for almost a year. And then Jack’s shot. Nothing seems to be working out for him. Forced into some R and R he heads to London to try and sort things out with Lucky. Can they both manage to stay safe long enough to reignite their relationship?

This is a smoking hot, steamily sexy story. While the predominant relationship is between Lucky and Jack, through a funny and somewhat complicated series of events they indulge in two different threesomes during this short story. I found this to be quite fast-paced, which I found surprisingly enjoyable. Like a speeding train, events unfold one after another like dominoes falling. I thought this was both excellent and difficult. I liked it because needing to know what happened next kept me turning the pages, completely addicted. The only real down side to this was I felt a little like I just couldn’t catch my breath and enjoy each moment.

Lucky and Jack’s relationship has a few rough patches in this story. I was quite nervous for them in a few places but was delighted that things always got resolved – usually with a lot of very hot sex! One thing I really loved was how the author somehow managed to make something that sounds absolutely insane not just actually occur, but make sense. I can’t imagine any other situation where a specific threesome could occur. Somehow Lucky and Jack (and clearly the author!) make the absurd completely possible and damn hot at the same time.

A fun, fast romp, this is an awesome short story and one I enjoyed.

Will it hamper or help the two take down Silas?

This story has a great premise. It has a good plot but the story reads more like an outline and did not have much character development, making it a dry read. In the beginning, Dune comes off as arrogant and mean but we start to see another side of him; it was only a start. I would have enjoyed seeing more of the softer side of him. Mason is a scared young man. The two are good for each other and make a nice couple. As the two begin to figure out just where their feelings will take them Dune begins to set things into motion against Silas. It was nice to see the true hero that Dune is.

Mason and Dune’s story moves rather quickly and there are not a lot of details. It would have been nice to add some more substance to the story. It has an interesting plot and good characters that could have been developed into something more. Despite all that, I still found nuggets to enjoy and I liked Dune and Mason.

Thomas is the new law clerk and is thoroughly intimidated by the boss, Clark Sterling. Only when Thomas accidently discovers Clark watching some porn on his computer, Clark really looks at Tommy and the chemistry between them is undeniable. Can the two men make things work out together?

I really enjoyed the characters in this story. While Thomas is an eager, young man I enjoyed how he wasn’t too naïve or innocent. And Clark was a deliciously complex character – bold, self assured and confidant in most respects, but after a very nasty break-up he showed vulnerability and hesitation at the oddest times privately and when it came to the romantic relationship growing between he and Thomas. I found this added a lovely layer of complexity between the two men and one I found interesting and really refreshing to read.

While I really enjoyed the pace of the relationship flourishing between Thomas and Clark, the small amount of plot seemed a little jarring – almost like it had been added a few times throughout the story practically as a second thought. I feel the pacing would have been much better had the plot/conflict either been shown in more depth (quite a bit of it occurred “off screen”) or just ditched all-together. Instead, occurring only in short bursts with long stretches of relationship-stuff happening in between, it felt a little half-hearted and I couldn’t work up much enthusiasm for it as anything other than the mandatory “misunderstanding and argument” aspect of their relationship. I feel this could have definitely been handled better.

I loved the sex between Thomas and Clark. It was prolific, sexy and I thought their chemistry and growing care for each other really was a pleasure to read. While I didn’t feel there was anything kinky or envelope pushing, as a romantic M/M story I thought this ticked all the right boxes in the bedroom and should appeal to a wide range of readers.

With excellent characters and a great, steamy romance, I found this to be a lovely M/M story.

Riley is pretty sure Mike is unique. Whether that’s good or bad is still up for debate, although he does have to admit that the sexy man’s persistence in the face of adversity and embarrassing situations is oddly endearing. Riley believes love takes time to grow, but maybe for Mike he’ll make an exception…even if Mike staunchly declares that he doesn’t like cats.

I found this to be a lovely, funny short story. Equal parts humourous and sexy, I found myself deeply entertained and enthralled by Mike and Riley. I really enjoyed both Mike and Riley’s characters, but it was some of the secondary characters that really made this story different and so amusing. Like Charlie, the four year old, sticky fingered destroyer, or any one of Riley’s ten siblings. I loved how the author managed to infuse not just humour and realism into so many varied characters, but also made it not come across to me as campy or trying too hard.

In many ways this story has it all – hot and sexy guys, crazy families, destructive children and of course long-haired, home-bred cats. If you’re looking for a light, funny and sizzling hot M/M romance I feel this ticks plenty of the boxes. No hard-core erotica or kinky play here, just lots of laughs, plenty of fun characters and Mike and Riley falling deeply in love together.

I really enjoyed this short story and can happily recommend it.

After escaping his kidnapper, Griffin allows his roommate and best friend Teddy to call his brother, Roane, for help. Roane is a shifter and a member of Team Paladin and knows they can protect Teddy and Griffin. Twist and Jack have been in a committed relationship for five years, but when Griffin walks through the door of their bar, both men are instantly attracted. Can Griffin be exactly what they’ve both been searching for?

I found this to be a really interesting short story. As one would guess, Doctor Pain is not all about happiness, rainbows and glitter, and I was surprised – but pleased – that the author didn’t shy away from showing the reader exactly how nasty Doctor Pain is. While I don’t feel that the more gorey and torture-ish scenes were wallowed in or glorified, neither were they ignored or tucked away. We see Doctor Pain harming others in short doses and I personally feel it adds to the sense of very real danger that Griffin and anyone associated with him is in. Readers should be aware that a few of the scenes are graphic – though I personally don’t feel they are any more graphic than a regular paperback thriller would be nowadays. For readers wanting some spicy romance and not a thriller, this might sour them on the mood so I feel it worth highlighting.

I really enjoyed the many characters in this story. Jack, Griffin and Twist were all complicated, multi-layered characters that I found a joy to read about and watch grow together. There’s plenty of supporting characters, from Teddy, Roane and other members of the shifter Team Paladin. And all the while Doctor Pain hovered around the edges of the story, an interesting – and creepy – villain. While Griffin didn’t jump immediately into bed with Twist and Jack, I was surprised that a mere day after escaping a week of torture Griffin was willing to cuddle, lean on and become vulnerable with two strangers. From a plot point of view it was explained quite thoroughly, but it just didn’t feel realistic to me and I needed to suspend my disbelief and just push through that. Since I was enjoying most other aspects of the story this wasn’t hard, but I don’t feel all readers will swallow that very sudden change quite so easily. I was impressed that other signs (nightmares, body-shyness etc) were all part of the trauma Griffin showed – these all struck me as far more believable. After a week of being in each other’s company I could understand Griffin relaxing and trusting the team – so the initial/immediate trust with Jack and Twist was a small bump in an otherwise interesting progression of the story.

The sex and “we’re shifters” talk was well paced. I also liked seeing the overall story arc (that of the small town being bought by the team and bringing it back to life piece by piece) move forward. I was a little disappointed that the plot felt not only predictable but also there was a part of the ending clearly left hanging. I’m hopeful it will be picked up (with Teddy and Dallas) in the next book, but it did leave this story feeling somewhat unfinished to my mind. I also had a chuckle about a man called Teddy mating a Bear-shifter – even if that pun isn’t intended it made me laugh!

A good story and one I can easily recommend.

Beau thought Aaron was dead to him… Imagine his surprise when his former lover slinks into his tattoo shop.

Eight months ago, vampire Beaudelaire Delacourte had it all. As a tattoo artist, he used his special ink and spells to permanently tattoo other immortals and spent countless hours feeding and indulging in BDSM with his human lover, Aaron. Then he asked to turn Aaron so his lover could join him permanently, but Aaron refused, not willing to give up his humanity. Since then, Beau has kept his head down and stayed in his shop, only interacting with his clients who all come for his special brand of ink.

While cost cialis viagra is manufactured by a huge pharmaceutical company who invests a large amount upon research and developmental of their products and also on the marketing. But the experience is richer, more thoughtful, gentle to meet order cialis the requirements of the woman. When Aaron shows up on his doorstep, half-dead and apologizing, Beau is shocked to learn that his boy was turned at the local vampire club by Stephan, another vampire. Not only was Aaron turned, but his chest was torn open, his fangs were broken and he was left in an alley to die. Spurred by the need to see Beau one last time, Aaron has been hiding in an abandoned building until he found the strength to make it to Beau’s shop.

Beau takes his boy in again, promising that Aaron will earn his place back in Beau’s bed, and vowing that he will take revenge on Stephan. Unbeknownst to Beau, Aaron is only the first in a long line of humans who Stephan has created then turned out to fend for themselves. As Beau discovers that this is only one of the old rules that Stephan has broken, he and Aaron are drawn into a web of intrigue that can only end in someone’s death.

Beau and Aaron had broken up when Beau offered his lover immortality and Aaron refused. That was months ago, and when Aaron stumbled back into Beau’s tattoo parlour, Beau was shocked. Not only had Aaron been viciously changed, but Aaron’s fangs had been broken and the man cast aside and left for dead. Can Beau reclaim his ex lover and can the two men find their way back to each other?

I found this a fresh take on the more traditional style of vampires. While much of the world and mythology is similar to the normal style everyone knows, I loved how the book itself focused strongly on Aaron learning the ropes of vampirism. Beau takes on the role of mentor and it was interesting to effectively learn alongside Aaron. Elements of the BDSM lifestyle were closely woven in with more common vampire lore – feeding and avoiding sunlight/lasers etc. And I was delighted by the slightly rough edge Beau had. No sparkly vampires or lacy, flouncy silk shirts here!

At a few points early in the book I worried that Aaron was slightly too dependent upon Beau. While I loved how Mr Michael explained very thoroughly how weak, young and new Aaron was – so this dependency really made sense and was completely logical, Aaron’s level of reliance on Beau was deeply submissive. I have to admit though I really enjoyed watching Aaron flourish and grow strong – not just as a vampire, but also as a man and in his relationship with Beau. The pacing was near perfect for me. Slow, gradual and both men needed to work hard and earn it all. This made the whole story a real delight to me and one I know I will thoroughly enjoy reading many times to come.

This is the first of a series, and I really enjoyed the paranormal world Mr Michael has created. There were a number of very strong secondary characters who I presume will be showcased in future books. Aaron and Beau’s relationship was primary throughout the entire book and while they did find a semi-regular human man to feed from (Geoff – I dearly hope his book is one of the upcoming ones) and the feeding was fairly sexual (the M/M/M listed above) this is not a traditional ménage or a committed part to Aaron and Beau’s relationship. Aaron and Beau care for Geoff, enjoy him and feed from him, but they’re not a threesome in a relationship way. Personally, I’m hoping this leaves the door open for Geoff’s own story. Similarly – I’d love to read a story about Beau’s two siblings.

A new and lovely look on the traditional vampire story. I really enjoyed this and am eagerly awaiting new stories in this series. Highly Recommended.

Day must convince Saw that he’s not cursed and that together, they can face any challenge that comes their way—in both their professional and personal partnerships.

Master Day has taken over the managerial duties of the front desk at the Iron Eagle Gym. His first order of business is to hire himself an assistant as there’s an awful lot of work to be done each day. Sawyer loves his job, and strong feelings grow between Day and Saw – but Sawyer is convinced he’s jinxed. Can Day convince him just how good they can be together?

I found this to be a wonderful book. While I have read the two previous installments in the Iron Eagle Gym series, this book can absolutely be written as a stand alone. A few of the previous characters make cameos, but effectively the entire story is based around Damien and Sawyer and their relationship. Nothing at all is lost by picking this book up and reading it by itself.

I was initially dubious at Sawyer’s belief that he’s cursed and his resistance both to working officially at the gym and entering into a relationship with Day. The author, however, not only made it realistic enough I found it believable, but Mr. Michael infused the characters with so many layers and such a strong writing style that I found myself compelled to turn the pages late into the night. I loved the balance of Sawyer, he is calm and perfectly independent, self-contained, but at the same time very firm and almost stubborn in his beliefs. It’s clear and easy to see things from Sawyer’s perspective too. After losing his Master and having a run of bad luck with jobs worrying about messing other things up isn’t much of a stretch.

Added onto all this, I loved the slower pace Day and Saw took with their relationship. While jumping immediately into bed and hard, kinky sex is all well and good, in this set up I feel it would have been ludicrous. I loved Day for his patience – and not just a “biding his time” sort of thing, but making a genuine effort to get to know Saw, to understanding his opinions and lifestyle and the world he’d created for himself and then Day gently easing himself into it. This made the whole story so much more romantic to me, it showed depth and caring and just a sensibleness that made my heart thump. And when we finally get to the kinky sex – phew! It’s well worth the wait and a hundred times hotter for all the build up. Indeed, that first kiss shared between the men had me sighing happily like a teenager.

Readers wanting a bit of spice with their sex and a mountain of romance, along with truly deep and complex characters should love this as much as I did. A wonderful story with rich characterization and an interesting plotline. Recommended.

What Ash isn’t prepared for is Jaxon, the new librarian in Quorn. Jaxon is calm, gentle, kind, and a rock for Ash’s battered psyche. Ash finds himself falling for the handsome newcomer, even as his mind and memories of the past torment him.

When he has the idea for a mobile library to bring books and entertainment to remote communities in the far north, Ash is delighted that Jaxon is with him every step of the way. But though the library, called Book, Line, and Sinker, takes off, Ash’s past continues to plague him. Can Jaxon’s love be enough to keep them together until Ash is strong enough to stand on his own?

Ash was finally home – back in the Flinders Ranges in Australia. After Army tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan he was more than ready to return to his quiet, sleepy little home town. Jaxon is the local librarian and a calm, friendly newcomer. Can Ash find some peace with Jaxon?

I found this a wonderful story. The pace initially felt a little slow to me – but after a few chapters I managed to sink into it and could even appreciate the more gradual unfolding of the characters and plot. Ash in particular is quite a complex character to my mind and being able to really get to know him before the romance and plot kicked in had me completely hooked.

I especially loved how while Ash did show signs of PTSD and was clearly a changed man from his tours in the Army, it wasn’t some dramatic, over-the-top type of thing. Indeed, the small nature of his twitches made them vastly more believable to me. A dustcloud down the road sending him mentally back to the desert. Being jarred by buildings in his old hometown no longer holding the same businesses. Nightmares. These sorts of small disjointed things made everything so much more believable to me. Ash can function, appears to be mostly coping, but he’s still changed and in his own way struggling. I found myself really sympathizing with him and eager to discover just how deep his wounds ran – then find out how he’d recover and move on from them.

Sadly, I wasn’t too sure on how gay-friendly a small, outback Australian country town would be to two gay men – one an ex-Army man to boot. While I struggled to find that aspect of the story realistic, it truly was a small fault. I was happy to overlook it in the interest of discovering how Ash and Jaxon got on together. I really found the story to be heartwarming and for the most part a lovely long, slow, sweet fall into love for both men. The sex was hot and descriptive and unlike many erotic romances Ash and Jaxon didn’t just immediately jump into bed. I found that refreshing and very cool. The book-bus idea was something I found awesome – and such a clever idea I actually was tempted to go do a google search and find out whether it was really happening or not!

For a slow paced, deliciously romantic M/M story this certainly hit the spot for me. I loved the descriptions and story revolving strongly around a small Australian country town. Add in a bunch of strong secondary characters – all interesting and vibrant in their own rights – and this story felt to me like it had something for every reader. Recommended.
