Christopher Hughes is new to the small New England town of Lancaster, New Hampshire. He’s been hired to save an old library from closing, but his obstacles include not only fighting for state funding, but a Selectman who wants to tear the building down in favor of a shopping center.

Working in close proximity has both men falling hard for each other, and also provides Christopher an opportunity to learn about Miles’s passion for baking. As it turns out, Miles’s skills in the kitchen may end up being the key to saving the library—but only if his bread can rise to the occasion.

Christopher had been in Lancaster only a short time and was having trouble finding a job until the library suddenly needed some help. Thrilled, Christopher has no idea just how much work he’s in for. With the funding to the library being threatened and unsavory people wanting to raze the site for the land value, Christopher knows he needs all the help he can get.

I really loved this short story. Despite the small number of pages I found the characters – Christopher and Miles in particular, but even the small cast of secondary characters – all vibrant and realistic, logically and well drawn. I found in just a few sentences the author managed to convey each character with their own sense of self and particularly with Christopher I found their voices just spoke to me and I was eager to ride along and see what happened next.

The plot isn’t particularly convoluted, but rehabbing and modernizing an older, small town library was something I feel most readers can both identify with and envisage. This helped me focus even more on the characters and enjoy their interactions, because all the other plot going on was logical and I didn’t need to think about it too much.

The romance between Christopher and Miles bloomed slow enough that I found it believable – but was fast enough that they made proper head way in the short story. There is only one very brief scene of intimacy but the chemistry and attraction between Christopher and Miles fairly sings from the pages so I feel only readers looking for a highly explicit and strongly erotic take will feel this is a little too tame for their tastes.

Fun and lighthearted with a really good, small-town feeling I loved this story and am eager to try more from the series.

I already knew I loved the books of Bailey Bradford. Ms. Bradford is one of my go-to authors. This book? It didn’t disappoint. Right away, I fell in love with the characters and had to know more. The story flowed well and I was tugged me right in. The characters came to life for me and I needed to know more.

Kerry is a sweet man and I loved how he’s portrayed–as a tender man. He is a natural bottom and it was nice to see him come out of himself for Andy. They’re a good pair.

Andy is sweet, too, but he’s got a history and he’s a bit damaged. I liked that he wasn’t perfect, even if he’s a calendar man and supposed to appear perfect. Seeing him with Kerry was hot.

The instant attraction Michael feels toward his new Dominant, Mr. Johns only grows stronger each day. Spending time together in the dungeon is always a fun, unique, and unpredictable experience. Only Mr. Johns can take him to places he’s never known existed. The pleasures of pain and the highs of sub-space were once unimaginable, but now Mr. Johns truly owns him body and soul.

For Michael the most startling emotion is the fear he feels when he’s earned a punishment. Although punishment is meant to be feared, Michael is more afraid of being dismissed. He’s certain each mistake is a step closer to being sent away. No punishment could ever hurt as much as Mr. Johns giving up on him.

Is it possible for Mr. Johns to have any real feelings for Michael, or is has Michael set himself up to be hurt worse than ever before?

Michael was certain he wanted to be a full-time submissive in a committed relationship. When he’s taken in by Mr. Johns there is a lot to learn in a very short time-frame. Each of them willingly go into a contract together, but what happens when their willingness deepens to stronger emotions and they each want more?

I found this to be an interesting and quite deeply plotted BDSM story. I was intrigued – but surprised – when early on in the story as Michael and Mr. Johns went into the complexities of their contract together the details were listed and included. I’ve read a number of BDSM stories and while quite a few of them include contracts. I personally found it unusual – though insightful – for the terms and conditions to actually be presented to the reader could follow along precisely instead of having it alluded to or described vaguely. The sex is hot and fairly kinky. Michael and Mr. Johns are both clearly excited by each other and interested – but I certainly felt this story erred more on the side of erotic – rather than romance. The two men have feelings for each other and care about each other, but for quite some time into the story they are working out the boundaries and their feelings for each other – so I didn’t feel this was a strongly romance story, not in the more usual sense.

While it’s made crystal clear that Michael is willingly entering the relationship, at time I felt – particularly in the beginning – that Michael was merely going along with some things simply to not cause waves or problems. He wanted the relationship and was attracted and curious by Mr. Johns, but there was a lot of official stuff (ie contracts, rules, paperwork etc) sorted out right at the very beginning and while I never once felt Michael wanted to back out or change his mind, I did feel a flutter of worry a time or two that Michael had questions or hadn’t completely assimilated everything that was happening. And it all did occur very fast. Mr. Johns multiple times checked that Michael was on board – this was not a feeling or belief that as Dominant Mr. Johns was taking advantage or pushing Michael too far too fast, but I did think in a few places maybe Michael wasn’t as certain as he thought he was. I felt this added a good bit of tension into the plot and story itself, but it made me nervous at the same time. I’m not certain all readers will enjoy the speed with which Michael and Mr. Johns get together and solidify their contract together.

This story seemed extremely realistic to me – almost like a sneak-peek at what a real-life, contracted life as a submissive in a formal BDSM relationship would be like. While there is certainly tenderness and strong emotions between Michael and Mr. Johns this wasn’t what I could consider a traditional romance story in that many of the minute details of a BDSM relationship were carefully gone over and explained in detail.

An interesting and, for me, an eye-opening insight into a more formalized, contracted BDSM relationship, this is a great story and one I feel will appeal to many readers interested in the BDSM lifestyle.

Alivia is an innocent, in more ways than the obvious, but she doesn’t remain that way for long. Ronan and Noah balance each other out perfectly, and they have a very honest relationship, which is always a good thing.

But when the cottage the witch is bound to is set on fire, Harris and Grant face a terrible decision. For the only way the witch can be free is by eating one of their hearts…

Orphanages always have a bad reputation in stories, and this one is no exception. Grant and Harris have been lifelong friends, but have only just built up the courage to tell each other how they really feel. Grant is the brawn of the two, whilst Harris is the brains. This isn’t me just saying that – it’s what they say themselves! Throw a mad witch into the mix, and anything is possible.

This was only a quick read, but there was plenty of detail in there – from the viciousness of Mr D, to the loneliness of the witch, to the fumbling feelings between our two MC’s. The pacing is smooth, and there were no plot holes to fall through. The descriptions are vivid enough that you can see what is going on, and who is doing what.

This was a great take on Hansel and Gretel, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the ending and the epilogue. Definitely worth a read, and absolutely recommended by me.

The problem is compounded by the ghost of a murdered man who tugs at my heartstrings. Is he real, or just a figment of my imagination?

Josiah had barely been a teenager when he fought in the Civil War. After returning home wounded and losing everything, he had he eked out a quiet life until he was murdered. Even though he knew how to take on a physical form, Josiah had no interest in doing so. After Matson had finally shaken off the dust of his small home-town he’d never done more than briefly visit his family, tired of hiding his true feelings in the small, bigoted township. When his Granny left him her house Matson came home to decide what he should do with the property. Can Matson and Josiah find their way together and each find their happy ending?

This is a slightly different and rather interesting story. I was pleased that the author changed perspectives between Josiah and Matson each chapter – as this helped me really understand and appreciate where both characters were coming from throughout the story. While Josiah is a ghost – and a man from a historical time – in many ways he felt modern enough to be relatable to. I really enjoyed how the author explained how Josiah watched Matson grow up and how Josiah’s feelings slowly evolved, this really helped sell me to the romance and emotions between the two men – particularly from Josiah’s perspective.

I feel this story will appeal not just to readers who enjoy erotic M/M stories but also readers who like small-town romances and more historical novels. This short story was a good blend in my opinion and could suit a wide range of readers.

For the most part the growing romance between Josiah and Matson, and the paranormal/ghostly aspect of Josiah’s situation is the conflict and plot of the story, though there is a small detour highlighting the bigotry of the small-minded townsfolk trying to block Matson from being able to go forward with his idea of a Bed and Breakfast. With so many elements going on I feel the story might have been stronger had only one or two aspects been included in this short story – and not left everything feeling so crammed. With historical and contemporary components, paranormal and ghostly/After Life aspects all vying for attention with the B&B plotline and Matson and Josiah’s romance – the story felt quite busy and a little like everything was skimmed over to make room for everything else. I feel readers should also be aware that the short epilogue contains a strong teaser/hint for the next book in the series.

I was pleased that the paranormal aspects of Josiah’s after-life were well explained, and the sex between Josiah and Matson is smoking hot and quite explicit. I also enjoyed seeing Matson and Josiah set up the basis for turning Matson’s Granny’s house into the B&B. With plenty going on and a few smoking hot sex scenes I feel this short story will appeal to a lot of different readers.

I’ve never read Katerina Ross before today and I’m glad I remedied that situation. To say this is a hot story is putting it mildly. Really. This story threatens to melt your kindle. I know it’s a short story, but I didn’t want to put the story down once I started. I had to know how things played out.

I was sucked right into the story, but I have to add this caveat. This story involves exhibitionism and extreme spanking. If degradation play isn’t for you, then this might not be the right short story. It’s tastefully written, but some readers might not want to dip their toe into this kind of BDSM play, even in a story.

Meet Larry Boots, a young man with a special job. He takes care of criminals that have slipped through the law.

Although this has a lot of dark areas there are also plenty of funny moments involving his mother, Greta, who is a 70-year-old hippie. There are also humorous moments with his poodle dogs.

What really struck me was how well the author portrayed a blind person. As it turns out, Ken is a teacher for the blind. He had lost his sight in a car accident and I know how hard it is to adjust to a whole new way of life. The characterization of Larry is so well done, and he takes the high moral ground not letting the disability affect him. Their conversation was rather stilted, but who’s isn’t when you first meet a new person? It was obvious at their first meeting there were sparks between them. Their relationship develops slowly and has realistic problems. On the first date Larry takes him to the zoo thinking that Ken would enjoy the sounds and scents of the animals. It was so sweet seeing Ken’s reaction, full of wonder and happiness. They end up in bed together and have better sex then most men they had been with. There are lots of facets to this story, but I’ll let you read it to get the full effect.

I would recommend this book to anyone. The characters are so well described that you feel part of the family. Being visually impaired myself I was impressed how realistically Ken was portrayed. Although Larry kills people, I can’t find it in me to be disgusted because he was just doing his job. With a wonderful relationship which helps both men’s life, Larry learns to let go of the rage for his brother and Ken learns to be more confident in himself.

This book is a fun and thought-provoking work that many would enjoy.

Kelly likes his quiet life – warm and comfortable and filled with books, exactly how he wants it. When his best friend, Max, convinces Kelly to take a job cataloguing the library of his dreams, Kelly simply can’t resist. And after unknowingly drinking a love potion Max slipped him, Kelly is surprised when Dregan Stone’s books aren’t the only thing he can’t resist.

I really enjoyed this short story. Kelly and Dregan were fun and interesting characters I felt connected to very quickly. Kelly is a fairly typical human guy, and while Dregan (much as his name suggests) is a dragon-shifter he’s still a book-obsessed, family and clan-orientated independent guy who I could easily see myself chatting to over a hot cup of tea. Despite the short length of the story I was pleased the author spent a bit of time in the beginning allowing us as readers to see a bit of Dregan and Kelly’s personalities by themselves as they slowly interacted with one another. This helped the romance between them firstly feel more realistic, but also allowed me as a reader see that this wasn’t just a potion-fueled lust thing – or worse, something fake or temporary. I could see how Dregan and Kelly meshed together as people and how they shared a number of interests together.

I’m not sure if the author meant to give this story a hint of “Beauty and the Best” to it. It very well just could be me – and that ginormous library – but there were a few points where I wondered if the author was subtly giving a nod to the Beast in particular. I was a little surprised how quickly Kelly accepted Dregan and all the paranormal secrets revolving around him. Considering the short length of the story I fully appreciate how going back and forth between disbelief or denial might have eaten too much into the story, but I couldn’t help but feel Kelly was just a shade too accepting and unsurprised by some pretty huge paranormal aspects to Dregan and his world.

With two very interesting characters, a library to drool over and some fun and sexy romance between the two men overall I found this to be a light and enjoyable, quick read. I found the author’s voice mostly realistic and can easily see myself enjoying this quick read again in the future.
