Allen Jameson had it all—the perfect house, the perfect partner, the perfect life—until his partner, Gary, died suddenly, leaving him alone in the real world, where life isn’t so pretty and people make mistakes. Now Allen is the owner of Sweet ‘n’ Sassy Cupcake Shop, a cute boutique downtown, where he invents delicious flavors like strawberry and French meringue. Between working long hours and making special orders, Allen barely has time to think.

Then a hunky contractor walks into his shop looking for a treat. Allen and Byron Bannigan are total opposites, but they’re perfect together—salty and sweet like Allen’s signature peanut butter and chocolate ganache cupcakes. But as Allen struggles to juggle his business and his boyfriend, he learns he can only handle so much. He may have to choose between the cupcakes in his store and the cupcake in his bed.

Allen found himself at a loss after the death of his long-term, beloved older partner. To help keep himself busy he decides to use some of the money left to him to open his own tiny little cupcake store. Byron walks in one day, desperate for some sweet treats for his workers and the two men instantly hit it off. Can each of them find what they’re craving?

I really loved this sweet full length story. I found both Allen and B’s characters to be well drawn, complex and deliciously layered. The emotional connection between them is exceptionally written to my mind, and totally believable. There’s no insta-lust here and readers who enjoy a slower pace to their romances should find this as enjoyable as I did. I really loved how the fuller length of the story allowed the pace between the men to be just perfect for me – fast enough it didn’t feel like it dragged the story down, but slow enough that it didn’t feel rushed and there was no immediate jumping into bed.

I also was really pleased, despite the sweetness of the story and the deeply emotional connection between the two men, their path wasn’t unrealistically smooth. Allen’s friends (mostly in connection with his previous partner) were very well meaning, but nosy and a bit of a downer to B and Allen’s fledgling relationship. And there were hiccups along the way with Allen’s business. Conflict and real-world problems that I feel were totally relatable – nothing overly dramatic or unbelievable, but just normal, understandable problems many of us face now and then. I really feel these additional parts gave the story some realism (Allen and B didn’t just exist in a happy bubble of joy and discovery as they came together) but it wasn’t over-the-top and I could see that the two men were able to work together and support each other through life’s usual ups and downs. This also helped really sell me on their long-term potential.

I found the sex between the men to be both hotly explicit but also sweet and tender. Their connection was clear and I had no doubt of their compatibility or their love for each other. Aside from the explicit nature of the sex there is nothing envelope pushing or even remotely kinky to be found here – readers who simply like the bedroom door open and a bit of heat in their romance should find this suits their tastes very well. More importantly, this is an exceptional story showing the depth of emotion and real connection that two men can find together when they discover the right partner.

I found this story to be highly emotional, very sweet and utterly dear. It will be going on my keeper shelf and I know I will adore reading it many times in the future. This is a deliciously sweet story for when you need a good pick-me-up and I can strongly recommend it.

Jasper and Lacy are best friends and despite the difficulties in their lives they have such a good time together it’s impossible for either of them to remain sad for too long. But when Lacy tragically dies Jasper’s world is thrown into chaos. Jasper meets Lacy’s Uncle Rob and despite both their regrets and deep sadness the two men connect on a level neither had ever experienced.

I found this to be a really emotional, deliciously complex and realistic full length story. I was thrilled when I connected and became very quickly invested in Jasper’s character and it helped me sink right into the story. I thought the author was exceptional in his handling of some deep and not easy situations – readers should be aware that while suicide is shown in the story I strongly feel it’s tastefully and well written, not glorifying the situation nor dwelling too deeply on the actual action itself. I can understand though that even with the light and delicate touch from the author this might not suit all readers tastes.

Jasper really struck me as a normal, regular and highly relatable young man. I was nervous at a few of the less-than-ideal choices the young man made, but was pleased the tone and overall writing of the story was hopeful and optimistic. I also really enjoyed how the complexities of the plot slowly unfurled – I was really impressed with how the author managed to slowly lead me along as the reader and soon enough I realised that nothing was really as it seemed; layers covering layers. This made me really excited and intrigued to continue reading long into the night. While a few of the twists in this plot didn’t feel particularly realistic to me I did think they wove together exceptionally well and made the story a real delight to read.

While steamy and sexy, I found the interactions between Jasper and Rob were well-paced (no immediate jumping into bed together, which I wouldn’t have enjoyed considering the circumstances that they met in) and I thoroughly approved of how the plot was not just a second thought or half-baked. This story had a bunch of all the things I love in a longer length book – strong and interesting characters, a complex and well-thought out plot, good pacing and some steamy M/M romance. For me, this book ticked all the best boxes.

Complicated, relatable and really well written, I loved this story and will eagerly be searching out more by this author.

Trauma surgeon Finn Thomason recently relocated from Chicago to Boston, where his focus on medicine leaves him little space for a personal life. Making a commitment to find a better work-life balance, Finn hopes he’ll also find a relationship.

Caught in an evening rainstorm, Luke shelters under a sidewalk awning…and encounters a handsome stranger. The two strike up a conversation and Finn offers to walk Luke under his oversized umbrella. Charmed, Luke accepts and asks Finn out for coffee in thanks.

Luke and Finn quickly grow close, but, as the summer draws to an end, Luke struggles to keep his connection with Finn while Finn tries to come to terms with caring for a man whose attention is pulled in many directions. Both men are scrambling to get it right, but only time will tell if they’ll learn there is more than enough room in their hearts to go around.

Can love be found under an awning in the rain? Of course, it can! That is what happens to our two MC’s in this story.

The thing I loved about this is how it is very lifelike. Yes, I know it’s fiction, and usually I’m right there with you, but this time, seeing them in completely normal circumstances and having honest reactions just made it a great read. Saying that, I did think Finn needed a slight tap when he started going out with someone who he knew liked him! Still, it was perfectly innocent, on his part at least, and luckily both Finn and Luke were grown up enough to talk over any issues, instead of allowing it to build up into a major misunderstanding!

Ella is a major player in this story, and I thought the author did a great job of showing just how confusing life can be for a ten-year-old. Luke did all the right things, but I was glad when Peter managed to work something out with his job.

There is something here for everyone – from steamy moments, to humor, to romance. With a great, contemporary setting, and a cast of fantastic characters, this was a read that I definitely recommend.

Can the two find their way to each other or will they let their happy ever after slip through their fingers?

I enjoyed the way Skye and Luke’s relationship took shape. Skye is new to the lifestyle and still figuring out just what he likes and wants. It was nice to see Skye grow with the help of Luke. He blossoms into a strong submissive who enjoys himself. The two have fun as they figure out their relationship and we clearly see the love that they feel for each other. The two men fit together nicely, and I liked seeing them work through their emotions and find what they are looking for. As we watch Skye and Luke find their way, we are also treated to what is happening at the Retreat.

I enjoyed the interaction of everyone at the Retreat. The camaraderie between all the men was a nice addition to the story. Each of the supporting characters makes themselves known and enhances the story. The author has written a good read that moves along at a good pace and is full of strong characters that grab your attention and have you wanting to return to their world.

A Coastal Carolina Novel The first step is the hardest. After a scandal, New York political reporter Reed Barfield is lying low at the North Carolina coast, writing a story about the seafood industry. But it’s the harbor pilots on the Cape Fear River who capture his interest—men who jump across ten feet of open ocean to grab a rope ladder and guide huge container ships into port. Men like sexy but prickly Justin Vance. After surviving an abusive childhood and a tour in the Navy, Justin isn’t fazed by his dangerous job—it’s certainly easier to face than Reed’s annoying questions. Justin isn’t out at work, and he doesn’t need Reed digging into his personal life or his past. But Reed’s no stranger to using his considerable charm to get what he wants, and as he wears Justin down, they realize they have a lot in common—and that they like spending time together. Moving beyond that, though, will mean Justin confessing his sexuality and learning to trust Reed with his secrets—if Reed even decides to stay. Both men want a future together, but can they find the courage to take the first step?

But his interest is piqued by the habor pilots. These men who jump across open ocean – no safety nets in sight – and grab rope ladders and help guide containers into the port. In particular, prickly Justin captured Reed’s interest like no one ever has. Are these the first steps for both men towards a lasting relationship?

I enjoyed this full length story. I found both Reed and Justin to be interesting characters and they captured my attention from the first chapter. Justin’s character could be described as prickly – but I didn’t find him stand-off-ish at all. I enjoyed that he wasn’t dazzled by Reed’s charm or suave personality. I found Justin to be a down-to-earth, private kind of person and this actually made Justin and Reed’s initial few interactions a lot more interesting than I feel they would have been had the two men been instantly smitten. This also helped add a strong sense of reality to the story for me and I greatly enjoyed that.

I liked how Reed’s back-story – the circumstances that had him out of New York and in a sleepy coastal town in North Carolina – was properly explained quite early on in the story. I also enjoyed the cheekiness of how Reed was meant to be covering an environmental story, but this story about the harbor pilots and the unsung heroes was what really called to him and was the story he felt passionate about. It helped flesh out Reed into more than just a story-hound chasing glory and the next big break and into a more real person, someone who was passionate about their work, but also wanted to tell real stories and shed light onto people who deserve it. I found it easy to get caught up in Reed’s enthusiasm and passion and this helped me get really into the story as a whole.

Readers who like a slow-burning romance should find this story really fits the bill for them. I loved how Reed and Justin had plenty of time to get to know each other and how they (and us!) discovered neither was as simple or quite what the other expected. This slower pace in the men’s romance was lovely and I found it engrossing to read. The sex was hot and emotional between the two men and I felt it really added to the story and wasn’t just thrown in to give the content an explicit rating.

With a strong and interesting plot, a good set of secondary characters and two heroes that I found engaging and deliciously complex this was a great story. I’d happily read more by this author and can recommend this story for most readers.

Deep attraction swirls between them. At the end of the night when they share a kiss, Aiden can’t believe the bliss that enfolds him, but have both men found someone to love just when fate is about to throw Aiden into mortal danger? And what will Santiago risk to aid his newfound love?

Santiago had been alone a long, long time when he noticed the handsome young man at a local bar. Fearful of rejection, Santiago couldn’t work up the courage to go say hello, terrified that his heart would be crushed. Aiden had been single for six months and was away on holiday. When his friends and travel companions egged him on to have a holiday fling, Aiden is uncertain but throws caution to the wind.

This is a lovely, albeit short, story about a holiday romance. Aiden and his friends had come to run with the bulls, but Aiden quickly discovers there are other ways in life to get your heart pounding. A lot of the paranormal aspects behind Santiago’s power and origins is left in mystery. I found myself with a few strong hypothesis’ but they weren’t answered until the end of the book. I expect much of the description of Santiago healing Aiden – and the magic/power behind that – was kept necessarily brief due to the short amount of space in the story. I’m not sure this will sit well with readers looking for a strongly magical/paranormal style of story. While it certainly kept the pace of the story moving along and left plenty of room for Aiden and Santiago’s relationship to be given a good amount of space and detail, I believe I would have enjoyed the story more for the better fleshing out of these paranormal details and found that it helped my understanding of the paranormal world and Santiago’s perspective on it all.

Aiden and Santiago’s relationship moved at a quick but understandable pace. With Aiden on a short timeframe due to this being his vacation much of the usual inhibitions people experience when meeting a new partner were understandably pushed to the side. Despite this quicker-than-usual romance I was still pleased that Aiden and Santiago didn’t just immediately jump each other’s bones. We got to see them interact, talk and eat together and saw them both fall for each other in a more than casual, fling-like way. I enjoyed this more romantic aspect to the story and found it really helped sell me on the two men working together. This made the chemistry and sex between them feel a lot more realistic and I feel the steaminess to the story will appeal to a lot of M/M erotica readers.

Light and sexy, this is a fun M/M story with a few hints of paranormal in it. I was pleased with the happy ending and found the two main characters to be realistic and interesting. A good, quick read.

Something about the eccentric mechanic intrigues him, though, and their easy friendship could become more… if they live long enough to broker peace between humanity and a hostile race while pacifying a crew that thinks Gin belongs in prison.

Ginnovi “Gin” Oshwald is a superb mechanic on earth who lives in a small down. He has a rather strange gift–he can control and destroy electronics with the touch of his hand. Nice, huh? He’s not exactly feeling great, but then his life gets a curve ball when the captain of a starship needs a mechanic for his ship.

Captain Lian Hartford of the star ship Bethany isn’t impressed by Earth. He’s a man of space and not used to wood buildings and real gravity. He tends to push people away from him.

The characters in this story are well developed with their own personalities and histories. Both Gin and Lian have experienced loss. They’re damaged people. Gin is such a sweet man and all of those that meet him feel protective of him. But the captain is not supposed to have a relationship with crew members. Impossible, since there is a connection between him and Gin that can’t be ignored. Lian enjoys how different Gin is from the rest of the crew. His innocence and happy attitude are a breath fresh air.

I also enjoyed the plot development. There are twists and turns I didn’t see coming and the characters really get a chance to develop. I thought the way the two began their intimate relationship was kind of odd and a little awkward, but these guys aren’t average guys or in an average situation, so it worked for them. I loved seeing Gin grow into the man he was supposed to be. The relationship between Lian and Gin is sweet and hot at the same time. The sex scenes were well written without being too much. It drew me in until the end, rooting for Lian and Gin’s relationship.

This is a fun, interesting and well written science fiction novel I would recommend to my friends.

Todd loved his coffee shop business. He got to watch as all sorts of guys hook up and start something new. JD was still deep in the closet and a bit of a workaholic, but the two men hit it off immediately. Can they make a go of the fresh new romance brewing between them?

I found this to be a really fun but super smoking hot full length story. Todd and JD hit it off right away and the chemistry sizzles between them and neither man is shy about jumping the other. I was pleased that Todd didn’t get all alpha-Dominant right from the very start, but rather he eased himself and JD into the more BDSM elements that entered into their relationship. I found this really helped me feel the story was realistic – but also gave me a chance to get to know Todd and JD’s characters a little better before they got their kink on.

A part of me felt that JD trusted Todd a little quicker than I would have expected for a closeted, slightly repressed young man – but while it didn’t strike me, personally, as realistic I could see where the author was coming from in not wanting to drag out the BDSM element to their relationship. The speed and depth of trust between the heroes is totally a matter of the readers personal taste, and while it was a little hasty for me – I bet plenty of other readers will feel it’s paced exactly right.

While most of the story revolves around the two men, there were a few very strongly drawn and interesting secondary characters that I felt helped add to the plot. This gave the store a more three-dimensional feel. Instead of the romance and growing relationship being the only aspect of plot one of JDs colleagues in particular helped give another element – and plenty of conflict too – to the story as a whole and made it feel deeper to me. While the character isn’t a villain in the more traditional sense, he is extremely homophobic and unpleasant (as bad guys are meant to be). Readers looking for happy and light fluff style of story mightn’t find this suits what they’re looking for. That said I really feel this story should appeal to a wide range of readers. There is plenty of steamy sex and a fair bit of kink – nothing too over the top, but enough I’d not be recommending this book to readers who prefer a little less spice and explicitness in their romances.

Sexy and steamy – this is a really good M/M romance with a lovely dose of kink and spice. Great characters and a realistic feel this is a lovely story I greatly enjoyed.

I have to admit, I love a good Antarctica story. I’m a total sucker for these and I couldn’t help myself – I needed to read this. I’m really glad I gave this a go – funny, light and with a number of interesting characters this was a good short read. I really liked how Simon and Asher didn’t just take one glance at each other and hop into bed. That would have been a simple and easy way to get them together since the icy and isolated setting meant neither man was spoiled for choice of romantic partners. So the fact that both men – in their own ways – had to work to connect and even form a relationship meant both that I was more invested in them as a couple but also I appreciated it a lot more when I could see them get to know each other and find their spark together.

Readers looking for an intense and highly erotic M/M might not find this quite suits what they’re after. While there is certainly hot sex, I personally found most of the focus of the book was on the deep and emotional relationship growing and flourishing between the two men. Readers who like a whole load of intimacy and emotional connections with their romance should find this really satisfies. I loved how while Simon had a load of intensely erotic fantasies about the dead-sexy Asher, the reality was even better – a kind, caring and sweet guy who wanted Simon for many reasons and not just for the chemistry burning between them in the bedroom.

Fun, interesting and sexy I found this to be a great book with loads to recommend it. With interesting main and secondary characters, a great and solid plot and plenty of deliciously ice-melting sex this was a good read and an author I shall enjoy checking out again in the near future.
