When Sophie takes a housekeeping job at Pendelton Manor to escape the grief of losing her only child, she has no way of knowing that she is walking into an orgy. The inhabitants of Pendelton Manor are completely open about their sexual habits, and when Sophie walks in on it, she is dumbfounded, but also aroused. A mix of old style Gothic mystery and a full on sexscapade, this book was a scorching hot read.

At first, my initial response to the story was that it reminded me of the old Victoria Holt mysteries with a brooding murderer lurking about. Add in sex at every single turn and you have something that would make even the most adventurous person blush. Adrian and the rest of the family are openly sexual in front of everyone in the house, hence the turnover in housekeepers. It is a bit shocking to find yourself in the midst of an orgy when you are trying to clean.

While I enjoyed the plot, dialogue and Sophie’s sexual awakening, I did feel that the sex was over the top. The author did a great job with each scene, but there were so many, I felt my eyes glazing over on a couple of occasions where I wanted to find out about the murderer or what happened to the cat. Also, the personal dynamics between Adrian, the oldest brother and owner of the manse and Sophie was the main focus, but I wanted more from their interactions. There was a repeated reference about the grief of both Adrian and Sophie that felt a little like an echo.

Overall, the story was great and the sex was smoking hot. Menage action at every turn with some one on one with Adrian and Sophie that scorched my e-reader made this a great read, but again, I would have liked a few more mystery elements.

If you have a fondness for Gothic style mysteries with a flair for wild sex parties than dip your toes in this one.

Well written and quite hot, Just Vamps made me laugh, cry out in surprise and squirm in my chair more than once. As occurs with most anthologies, some stories are better than others but overall the book is a good read for any vampire lover.

Chatting with a Vampire by Thayer King: This story was nice and sweet with a rushed end, but it still managed to bring a smile to my face.

Blood for Blood by Robin Badillo: One of my favorites from the lot, this story had an intense romance between its main characters and an action packed backstory to boot. I would have enjoyed reading a stand-alone book with these characters and vampire clans.

Haunted by Melissa Hosack: Another one of my favorites! The chemistry between Liam and Kyla was present from the start and I kept cheering for them to find their HEA. Included as a third partner for Liam and Kyla, I didn’t quite feel  the love between him and Kyla and found him a nuisance that kept getting in the way of the real romance between the witch and the vampire. I had the impression that the author had only included him to make the story a ménage and thus more interesting. Nonetheless, Haunted was fun and hot and had some great dialogue.

Once Upon a Fantasy by Hennessee Andrews: Who hasn’t dreamt about a fantasy man becoming real? A bold, surprising and sexy story.

Fly by Night by Vanessa Devereaux: This story started out great: intrigue, a sister rivalry, a mysterious man. Unfortunately, little by little it deflated. The dialogue became stilted and the connection between the main characters forced.

Fangs for the Memory by Rebecca Brochu: When it began, I thought it was going to be the traditional girl meets vamp in a bar, but the author pleasantly surprised me with a more traditional, albeit hot story. I must admit, however, that Dashiell did come on a little too strong for my taste.

Eternally Theirs by Lani Rhea: Hot, hot, hot, from the very beginning. Very well described and tantalizing, this ménage story could easily have a book all for itself, if for no other reason just to discover why Melissa had three incredibly sexy vamps all for herself. The plot was well constructed and the sex incredibly hot between the coven of five.

Living the Dream by Doris O’Connor: The title of this story says it all. A male-female- male ménage with hot sex and a lovely back story to boot. A pleasure to read.

The Last Hallow’s Eve by Jean Maxwell: Ms. Maxwell manages to make this story scary at the same time as sexy and heart warming.

13 Raven Road by Misty Burke: This story builds up nicely, explodes with some awesome and fun sex, and ends with a much calmer note making it a nice read.

The Red Dress by Ella Grey: A cute, well-written story with heart-warming characters, end the anthology with an “awww” note.

He, along with his FBI cousin, Mike, and undercover agent Marisa are working together to put Lamar away and find the missing girls. Marisa becomes sexually aggressive when hypnotized which Darren had to tone down.  This caused complications for Marisa because she is, by nature, anything but docile.

Redemption For the Hypnotist made this reader see how easily it is to take control over another persons mind and turn them into whatever you want them to be. In this case, Darren Braid’s specialty was turning women into uninhibited sexual slaves. I could not imagine someone being able to take that much control away from another person and that’s why this story was so intriguing.

“Whispers in the Dark” starts with the hero, Louis Beekman, on the plane to Louisiana. He had just inherited Love Alley, a mansion that served as a brothel two-hundred years ago. As Louis falls asleep on the plane, he’s assaulted by erotic dreams of a dark haired woman. From that very first sex scene to the very last one, the pages melted from the scorching hotness of the words on them.

The heroine of this story is Cory Lavalle, a small town psychic with a skill that comes and goes and couldn’t be controlled. She doesn’t make much on her gift but when the voices speak, they have something to tell, and they tell her a lot at Love Alley.

Louis doesn’t believe in ghosts but when his tools travel off on their own accord, the power goes in and out whenever it chooses to, and when a roll of toilet paper falls and rolls toward him when he needs it most, he decides that maybe there’s something inside his house. He summons Cory to help him with his problem but he doesn’t expect her to be causing a strained problem in his pants.

Louis was a real man. Normally, when reading erotic romance, or romance in general, I’m forced to put up with overly macho or overly feminine men who don’t seem realistic to me. I didn’t have that problem with this book. He spoke like a man, thought like a man, even drank like a man. His fascination with sex and the sexy vixen twin spirits added comic relief to the story. Near the end when Cory asked him for a magnifying glass and his first thought was that maybe his junk became magically small actually made me laugh out loud. I love this guy! And I could totally see why Cory fell in love with him, too.

Cory was the perfect heroine for our sexy hero. She was one of those women who wasn’t phased by Louis. She didn’t take his nonsense. Their banter was realistic and made me smile throughout the whole book.

Besides Cory and Louis, there are some entertaining supporting characters as well. Honey was a serial wife who was obsessed with sex and her own perfectly implanted boobs. Upon laying her eyes on Louis she vowed to get into his bed and maybe even snag him as husband number 100 or whatever. Unfortunately for her, Louis wanted nothing to do with her. At first, she started out as a bit of an antagonist but upon the introduction to Maurice, she decided to lust after him instead and left our hero alone. Although I never warmed up to Honey, I still found some entertainment in her.

My favorite element of the book was the ghost story. A haunted brothel could only mean whispered voices about anal sex, Ouija boards talking about breasts, and of course there are those blonde twins Louis so wanted to play with.

All in all, it was a great book with great characters and a downright unforgettable hero. I hated to say goodbye to those characters at the end but I’m also motivated to check out other books by these two lovely authors.

First person narration always draws me into a story and this one not only drew me in but kept me entertained for the entire story. It’s told through the heroine’s eyes and begins with a little intrigue and then turns into a very sexy read. The Hourglass is not only the title of this book but the instrument used to count down how long the hero will ‘punish’ the heroine for breaking into his library. Punish really isn’t a good word for what he does to her. Let’s just say I wish I was the one being punished because Ms. Weller did a wonderful job teasing me and putting me on the edge of my seat wondering what he was going to do next and whether the hourglass run out before he got a chance to do it.

The scene in the library is just the beginning of this entertaining read. It’s short on dialogue but I think it made it all the more unique. Ms. Weller gave the heroine a wonderful voice that could have only been told through first person narration. If you’re looking for an erotic romance this might or might not be for you. However, if you like erotica with a touch of romance, this will is a must read.

I highly recommend this one and I’ll be looking for more stories by this author.

Through Ms. Fox’s way with words I felt every moment of fear, yearning and pent up desire of the characters as if it were my own. Oh, how I wished Salvatore was not so proper or Lumina was not so impulsive! But the moments of happiness were also mine to relish. A forbidden kiss! A mirrored room! And one naughty, naughty Salvatore!

If you want to read something deliciously hot and naughty, with imperfect characters sure to leave an imprint in your heart, then Lumina is the book for you.

Although it was expressed that both women loved the same man, I felt there was also a truly deep emotional connection between the women. At the heart of the novella, this was a love story between two women, and the man was there mainly to supply his manly body parts.

I enjoyed this story very much and didn’t want it to end. It was an emotional read with great character development, a good plot, and amazing sex. The book carried me on a sensual and amazing journey right up to the last chapter. Without giving away the ending I’ll simply say it wasn’t what I expected or desired. After I finished the book, I actually checked out the author’s website and blog just to see if there was any mention of a sequel for “What the Mistress Did”. Sadly, I didn’t find any plans for a second book. I really wish there would be a followup, as I’m dying to know what happens next.

All in all, this book contained out of this world sexiness, two heroines that were both very fun reads, a love story that came alive through the pages, and a rather realistic ending. This unique story was memorable and I recommend it to other historical erotic romance fans.

Though their relationship was initially forged as a way of helping one another to reach an ultimate goal, hearts get involved and even with gun shots and NASCAR faux pas love blooms between him and Alison.

This is a cute story that kept me enthralled the entire time and I had a very hard time putting it down until I saw how it ended, even though HEAs are common in the romance field this one kept you guessing until the end if it was going to happen or not. Susan Ashworthy is an author to watch out for, her wit and way with words will take her far and gather a following quickly.
