I felt like I was back in their time. Although I wasn’t totally sure what precise period the book was set—not that it mattered; the story held its own so really I didn’t need to know.

Things happened really fast in this story and it was a bit hard to believe that love or a relationship can form in the matter of a couple days. I’m not saying it’s impossible. I love a good fall-in-love-overnight story, just like this one. It’s just quick. I wanted to see things develop longer, but there is the pesky issue of the lamp and the sand. So really, the issue isn’t one because things happen in the story for a reason.

Overall this was a great read I want to go back and visit again and again. I give Boyfriend in a Bottle 3.5 cherries.

If I had any issues, it was the lack of communication between them, but, and this is the key, their failure to talk is realistic. It was like watching two of my friends who I know should be together, butting heads because they can’t see the obvious — they love each other. It worked perfectly.

I’m referring this story to all my friends. It’s hot, sticky, and a breeze to read. If you want a story that will stay with you, and characters you won’t forget, then you need to read Ex Appeal. I give it 4.5 cherries.
