Ten years after a terrible car accident left carpenter Andy Johnson dead, Steven Billings has yet to move on. Though he’s put aside his art to run his family’s foundation—just like his parents always wanted—Steven has never been able to put Andy and the love they shared behind him.

And after a long, agonizing recovery—alone—Andy has come to hate Steven, believing Steven abandoned him when things got tough. When a chance encounter at a bar throws them back together again, it’s like the dead have come back to life and the past has come back to haunt them both.

Even though ten years has passed since a car accident killed Steven’s lover Andy, Steven hasn’t really moved on. He’s left his art behind and – just like his family wanted – joined in with the family business, but Steven remains alone, still mourning his lost lover. Only a chance encounter in a bar throws both Steven – and Andy’s – lives upside down, as Andy thought Steven had abandoned him, and Steven genuinely believed Andy had died. Can these two men rebuild their shattered lives and find a new way forward?

I found this to be a really emotional but strongly written short story. While the angst of Steven finding out his lover, Andy, wasn’t dead but he’d been betrayed into thinking so and mourning for a very long time is a lot to read I was pleased the author hammered all that out pretty much at the beginning of the story. There’s a lot of emotions and hurt for Andy and Steven both to come to grips with and I feel this could have really dragged the story as a whole down. I was so pleased when that wasn’t the case. Yes, there’s a lot of emotion and some angst and a few hurt and angry words, but this part of the story wasn’t extended longer than it needed to be and I feel it was really well handled – enough to be realistic and relatable, but not enough to be overly dramatic or feel like it was dwelled on.

I was grateful when Andy and Steven began to rebuild their relationship together. They both certainly still have scars and there’s a lot of work needed to be done, but it was clear they still deeply cared for each other and them both trying again was a lovely thing to read. I feel readers who enjoy this style of story will find it a quick and wonderful read, full of quite deep emotions and with two interesting, modern and very well drawn characters.

Steamy and wonderful, this was a lovely read and one I’ll enjoy again in the future.

This is another novella with a fast pace, but this time, most of the story is there. I still wonder why Porthos treated him the way he did, and why the broken shell seemed so significant. There is enough around those points though, to give the reader a full story. I would love to hear more about John and Minos.

This was very well written with some very steamy scenes, designed to melt your Kindle. If you are looking for a quick, hot, read, then this is definitely one for you.

What happens when a besieged and rather small dragon comes to a vampire and says, “I need your help”? Or when that vampire comes to a werewolf and says, “I have a job for you”? The vampire goes and builds a resort for things that go bump in the night, deep in the Cascade Mountains. Riding the wave of Julia Talbot’s Bloodrose series, the multi-author Cereus: The Building features paranormal romance Sean Michael, Julia Talbot and BA Tortuga.

Julia Talbot’s It’s Elemental features construction contractor Chayton, a werewolf who thinks demon decorator Kenny is a little fussy, and a lot hot. They argue about everything from feng shui to sex. Will they be able to resolve their differences?

The Third Course, by BA Tortuga, tells the story of Marco and Stephan, werecats, pridemates, and chefs who meet their match in head-bartender, Faelan, who just happens to be a growly, sexy Top.

Finally, Sean Michael’s Smoke and Gold follows the head dominant of the club, Zee, who’s dealing with trying to get his playrooms just so and trying to figure out maddening dragon, Daniel, at the same time. Who can resist loving a dragon?

While this book is comprised of three separate novellas it’s quite clear the authors collaborated closely on their work. Woven into their individual stories were small snippets and cameo’s of the main characters from the other stories and so while definitely separate stories there was a cohesion and smoothness to the book as a whole that I really loved.

Readers looking for a slightly different, more complicated series of stories featuring a whole bunch of various paranormal characters in an interesting setting should find this book excellent value (three for the price of one!) and an engrossing read, just like I did.

It’s Elemental by Julia Talbot

Werewolf Chayton is approached by his friend and offered the construction job of building a very special resort specially catered to all the various paranormal creatures that could just a very private and luxurious getaway. But the Demon decorator, Kenny, is quite particular about all manner of things and the sparks fly between Kenny and Chayton.

I was a little nervous about this story at first – I often find stories where the conflict and tension mainly revolves around the two main characters butting heads really struggles to balance the sexual chemistry and attraction with the arguments and differences of opinions. I couldn’t have been more wrong in the case of this story. I adored how while Chayton and Kenny were both very strong characters and exceptional at their own work, they were both secure enough in themselves to at least listen – and usually compromise and meet each other part way. I thought the author did an amazing job balancing having some conflict and sparks between Chayton and Kenny and still unfold a believable and sizzling hot sexual chemistry between the two.

The capsules also soft viagra increase testosterone levels in the body which causes testosterone to turn into a different hormone called DHT.
I also really enjoyed the smooth, easy banter between Chayton and Kenny. While it was clear from the start they were two different characters there was a sort of curiosity and open-mindedness between them both that just naturally led (in my opinion) to them wanting to know more, explore deeper, about each other. From there along with the zing of attraction between the two men it was only a short hop into bed and the development of a far deeper and more lasting relationship. I found this entire story fun and engrossing from start to finish and I was hooked from about the second page in. An awesome way to start this book and, I hope, the series.

The Third Course by BA Tortuga

Marco and Stephen are chefs – and both werecats in the same pride. They both find themselves drawn to head bartender Faelan who is a very growly and sexy Top.

I was utterly delighted by how much I enjoyed the banter between Marco and Stephen. All too often I find the troublesome type of behaviour to come across to me as bratty and annoying, but Marco and Stephen so obviously cared deeply for each other and there was always just that hint of laughter and amusement in their banter their actions made me laugh, not roll my eyes. It was also extremely clear to me right from the start that Faelan wasn’t just a good addition to their mix, but much needed to keep both Marco and Stephen from getting out of control and driving everyone else utterly bonkers.

I was really impressed how the author balanced these three characters so well together and how they each had their own very unique and individual aspects. Often in a threesome story one of the characters lags a little behind to my mind – is either overshadows or too close to an “add on” but that totally wasn’t the case here. While Marco and Stephen absolutely had a well defined and solid relationship already in place at the start, I could see how – even as happy as they were – there really seemed to be something lacking in the control department between them. Faelan was perfect for that and he really seemed a perfect fit which I just loved cos it made the whole progression from couple to threesome seem so natural and realistic. The sex was also smoking hot and really explicit – so erotica readers should find this aspect of the story really satisfying as well.

A great story with interesting characters and a wonderful threesome dynamic that I really enjoyed.

Smoke and Gold by Sean Michael

As the head Dominant, Zee is busy and on edge, trying to get all the playrooms ready for their eventual use. But a maddening dragon, Daniel, is just too much for Zee to resist, even with all the work he should be doing.

The chemistry between Zee and Daniel is pretty explosive right from the very first page. I’m usually not a fan of dragon stories so I was hesitant about this one but I was left really impressed and quite eager to read more. Daniel is not what I would think of as a typical dragon-shifter character. While Zee and Daniel are both strong, independent and dominant in their own fashion I really enjoyed how they interacted together. Daniel is not submissive in the style Zee is used to and while Zee is most certainly a strong Dominant, he’s flexible and can adapt in ways I don’t think Daniel had experienced previous to their meeting. So this was clearly a new and intriguing dynamic for both characters and I loved watching it unfurl.

Kinky and hot the sex was explosive between these two men and I feel the story will be very satisfying for readers looking for something along these lines. While nothing in their relationship is outrageously new it still felt fresh, realistic and not cliched to me so I really enjoyed the whole story and was engrossed from start to finish.

I really enjoyed all three of these stories and am looking forward to reading the next installment – Cereus: Opening.

After many years alone Zeus is not just lonely, but tired of his relationships failing. Determined to walk among the humans and try just once more, he comes down to Vegas and decides to try his luck and find a lasting lover. Stone was a statue performance artist and although at first he’s dubious about wanting to spend time chatting with Zeus the man intrigues him and so he gives in. Can they each find what they want from the other?

This is a fast paced M/M romance that is different and interesting. I was a little surprised Zeus didn’t seem as egotistical and overbearing as he is often portrayed. This sort of made sense seeing as he is one of the two heroes – but the different outlook on the Greek god threw me for a little while. I grew attached to Stone much more quickly, partly because I had no pre-conceived notions about him but also as a human and quite modern he felt a lot more relatable to me. I was impressed and intrigued how Zeus and Stone interacted and how their characters came to know each other.

I was pleased that while this story has plenty of steamy sex there was an intense and detailed plot as well. Zeus has some personal stuff to work through but Stone’s life – his work and his sister in particular – make two very interesting sub-plots as well. Readers who enjoy a steamy romance but plenty of plot as well should be particularly pleased with this quick read. I felt the author did a great job both with the pacing and balance between relationship and plot.

While there is mention of previous books in this series I haven’t read many of them and could still follow along with everything quite well – I feel this book stands well on it’s own and the others don’t need to be read for this to be fully enjoyed.

Hot and with two interesting characters and a lot of solid plot – this was a good and quick read.

Life is never going to be the same for either man, but together, they just might find that their new normal includes a happy ending for all.

Duffy and Brad had been lovers many years ago but life had taken them in different directions – Brad to the Army and Duffy through college. Duffy loves his work as a manny – getting to help the kids one-on-one and helping to raise them and is surprised when chance leads him to going for a new Mannie’s Inc job and finding Brad, his six year old daughter Tori and infant twins to be his new clients. Seriously injured in an IED blast almost a year ago, Brad was still recovering and after the death of Tori and the twins’ mother struggling to find his feet and set up a new home for the three children was overwhelming to say the least. Can Brad, Duffy and the kids find a new normal?

I really enjoyed this contemporary story. While I’m a big fan of Sean Michael’s work this is the first Mannies Inc story that I’ve read and I really enjoyed it. Brad and Duffy were interesting and strong characters who I almost instantly connected and empathized with. Brad is trying his best in a stressful and unusual situation and Duffy is eager to help but has certainly been thrown into the deep end. Watching the two men try and find stable and common ground, along with their bubbling chemistry, was delicious and wonderful. I also adored Tori who was cute and a definite character without being too stereotypical as a young child. I loved how she seemed to fit roughly in with her age and she certainly had flaws and wonderful aspects to her character which made her feel really realistic and enjoyable to me.

I was also really pleased Brad’s parents were caring and supportive. This story focused the tension and conflict mainly around the complicated situation Brad and Duffy find themselves in along with the stress of having an instant-family which I felt was great and even though most of the plot was simply the new family trying to find their rhythm and day-to-day schedule I thought this was ample conflict and more would have been unnecessary.

Readers who enjoy a slow-burn to their romance should find this story really suits their needs. While there are a few smoking hot sex scenes between the two men I loved how the pace moved naturally and slowly, almost sweet in many places since a hot and sexy romance wasn’t on either Brad or Duffy’s agenda. The relationship was based on the new family, supporting and helping the children and each other and so this gave the whole story an air of sweetness and a true family dynamic which I absolutely loved.

I feel this story should appeal to a wide range of readers and left me feeling happy and good. A great read.

Any other time, FBI Agent James Solomon is all business. Until he meets a man he can’t get out of his head. He doesn’t have time for dalliances, he has a murder to investigate. But will he be able to keep Leo out of his head long enough to find the culprit?

James Solomon is good at his job and it appears that he even enjoys what he does. He’s precise and observant, picking up on things that others might miss. He’s also pretty fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the early interactions between him and his partner, Lisa Gibson. They worked well together and seemed to almost feed off each other’s strong points. So, when, approximately halfway through the book, James does something incredibly stupid, I had to pause for a moment. I found it a bit out of character for someone so dedicated to his job, so good at it that a higher-ranking agent points out how good he is, to do something that would potentially end his career. The temptation to do what he did made complete sense. But to act on it? That really threw me out of the story. Thankfully, I was engaged enough in the mystery to put James’ poor choices aside long enough to finish the story.

That aside, the mystery was solid and although you have an idea of who committed the act early on, their reasonings for it were a surprise. I also liked James, despite his bad choices. His calls with his sister were sweet, even if he wasn’t prepared to fully engage her when she called. Also, the strained relationship with his father added a bit of humanity to his character that gave me reason to empathize with him. I’d really enjoy a sequel to see ho everything shakes out for James, his family, Lisa, and Leo. In the meantime, I’m going to see what else the author has on offer.

Sammy intrigues him from the get-go, and when Dre realizes that Sammy can get him the manga he’s been hunting for months—not to mention that he refuses a wish he offered him—the sexy demon decides to get to know this fascinating man better. Much better.

I have to admit I loved this plot and all the wonderful characters with all their different personalities. Also, most of the Demon lore that many authors use in their stories is not present. In fact, I don’t think there is a single one from other books I have read.

Sammy is a wonderful, quirky character that everyone who meets him can’t help but love. Unfortunately, he is incredibly shy, seen as a geek and has a bad habit of spewing strange facts when he is nervous, so his dating life is rather pathetic. His parents’ love had kept him going but he lost them a few years ago in a car crash and still mourns them. I love how he takes everything paranormal in stride, not seeming to mind the strange things that happen around him.

Dre is another wonderful, well developed character who does everything in his power to make Sammy happy. He also loves and enjoys the company of his family. When Dre is able to pay more attention to Sammy, they are almost instantly attracted to each other. Dre was struck by Sammy’s boyish, innocent face with bi-colored eyes.

I really enjoyed watching them go on several dates, going anywhere Sammy’s heart desired. In fact, their first date was to Rome where they went to Dre’s favorite restaurant which is owned by a witch and she makes it obvious that she approves of their relationship. Dre is able to create a hole that allows them to go wherever he wants in an instant. It was cute as they had a contest at each place they visited. Whoever could name the strangest facts won.

There is only one thing I wish could have been changed. The romance took a rather long time to develop. I loved these characters and couldn’t wait for them to express their love on a deeper level.

I adore the fun and adventure that goes along with the obvious connection between these two characters. A wonderful paranormal romance with lots of funny moments and geek trivia thrown around.

I really enjoyed this slow-paced and romantic holiday romance. I loved the buildup between Oliver and Noah – the fact they didn’t just eye each other off in the train, fall instantly in lust and jump into bed. Oliver was shy and very lonely and Noah might have been successful in his career but he wanted to be liked for himself and not his bank balance. I was pleased that each man was realistic, relatable and the author gave me enough time to get to know them both independently to want them to come together and see how they could form a relationship together.

I felt the conflict in the story was a little cliched but enough of the surrounding sub-plot, who Oliver and Noah both really were and their deep and genuine attraction to each other, managed to carry the story through this roughness. Readers looking for a fresh or unique story-line won’t find that here, but I was really pleased both Oliver and Noah’s characters were interesting and relatable. The sex between the two men was equal parts tender and hot, and I was really impressed that the author didn’t rush to have them jump into bed or fall in insta-lust.

With a good pace, strong characters and a lovely Christmassy setting this story had a lot going for it and overall I really enjoyed it.

Ezra had so many questions about Malik and the sexual tension that thrummed between them, so during a drinking game just between the two of them he finally asks Malik and the answer that he was in completely open relationship both surprised and enticed Ezra. Can something come from the incredible tension between all three of them?

I found this to be an interesting and complex story that I really enjoyed. Through more than the first half of the story it was quite clear that Ezra and Malik were attracted to each other, and that Malik and his girlfriend Portia cared about each other but weren’t interested in being exclusive. And while I didn’t really get sold on there being the potential for anything long-term between Ezra and Portia there was clearly some chemistry and romantic tension between them as well. The complexities of these relationships and the way they were evolving was gripping and I was pleased the author kept the story revolved strongly around this. There was ample tension as well between Malik/Ezra as a “will they won’t they” sexual chemistry and I felt it worked really well and was unique enough I eagerly continued to turn the pages waiting to see what happened next.

There is only the one sex scene between the two men and while the quantity might not suit all erotica readers I feel the constantly sizzling chemistry makes up for a lot of that lack. And when Malik and Ezra finally do hit the sheets – man oh man it is well, well worth the wait. Smoking hot and extremely satisfying.

I thought this story was excellent in how realistic it was and also how modern I could see it being. This isn’t a cliched or stereotypical style of story and I found that so refreshing. While sure, I was lost a few times and I wondered a lot if this would become a M/M/F style of menage (it flirts closely with that – but ultimately doesn’t fulfil that in this story) this really is just a story about three people who are linked in various complicated ways trying to all sort out an equilibrium where they can all be happy and have their needs met. For that – and for the excellent writing unwinding all those complications, this is an excellent story.

Different and fresh, readers looking for a story somewhat outside the box should find this happy and satisfying. I enjoyed the slower pace and while I don’t feel this will be hot or explicit enough for all erotica readers I thoroughly enjoyed it.

FINALLY!!!! You have no idea how I’ve wanted this book. Not because it’s the end of a simply amazing series but because I finally find out if Marshall and Arcas get together! Woot!! Not only that but Thomas and Kern get together again.

Oh, my heart. I think it jumped out of my chest a few times reading this. I love the camaraderie between all the characters. Manx is outstanding and I love them even when they’re grouchy. After all, you would be if you’d eaten what they had. My heart broke for Thomas and Kern and then I cheered for them. I cried for Marshall and Arcas and then cheered for them too. Are you getting a clear picture about this book?

It is hot, sexy, intense and full of excellence. The finale was a fitting climax to the overall story arc without taking anything away from Marshall and Arcas.

Absolutely superb and the whole series is recommended by me. Different stories for different characters, blended together to give you sheer perfection. Loved every single word. So what’s next???
