Hades’ Carnival, Book 6

Tilly Ledet has long been a friend of the immortal, shape-shifting warriors who follow the Lady of the Beasts, a willing helper in their battle against Hades. But now that Hades is free and unable to touch the warriors, Tilly is fair game.

When Phoenix shows up insisting she drop everything to go into hiding, Tilly balks. Phoenix is strong and courageous, but when she imagines being in his arms, the protective barriers guarding her heart slam down.

For the first time in his immortal life, Phoenix feels fear. Not for himself, but for the woman whose beauty and forthright nature heat both his mind and body. While one kiss easily ignites her passion, claiming her as his own will take more than heat.

It may require a sacrifice that could send them both up in flames.

Flame of the Phoenix is Tilly and Phoenix’s story in the Hades’ Carnival series, and as with the rest of the books, the characters are all well defined and likable.

Tilly Ledet is content with her life. She (and the bank) own the coffee shop where she and her friends gather, and she likes how her life is going just fine. When her friend Jessica is cursed with a ‘death mark’ it is obvious that Hades is targeting the only two women that are not safe from his wrath. Although Hades can’t come to the mortal realm, he can send his minions, so when Jessica asks Tilly to leave town to be safe, Tilly listens. When Phoenix tells Tilly he is going to protect her, she isn’t sure how to feel. She is attracted to him, but doesn’t want to just be an obligation or duty. As they spend time together, Tilly discovers that Phoenix has deep feelings for her, and she isn’t sure she is ready for being with an immortal shape shifting warrior. Phoenix knows Tilly is his mate…the one woman he will spend the rest of his long life with, but only if they can find a way to defeat Hades in this latest challenge to her life. Can Phoenix convince Tilly to take a chance on him? Can the two of them help save Jessica and keep themselves safe at the same time? Will Hades ever learn what in most important in life, or will he continue to go on as he is?

There is a sense with this book that N. J. Walters is bringing all of the warriors’ lives together, and sort of ‘tying up loose ends’ in this world. I do like this world, and enjoy seeing the characters as they interact and grow.

Matilda ‘Tilly’ Ledet is strong, smart, and loyal to her friends. After she and Jessica help beat Hades and free the Warriors of the Lady of the Beasts, they become targets for Hades, because they are human, and Hades knows that hurting them will hurt the Warriors, at least indirectly. With her independent spirit, Tilly is ready to help Jessica in whatever way she can. When Jessica asks her to stay away, Tilly goes with the one man who has been able to slide under her defenses; Phoenix, the Warrior who has promised Jessica he will protect Tilly. I like Tilly and her determination to be in control of her own destiny, and enjoyed watching as she discovered that being in control could also include falling in love.

Phoenix has been drawn to Tilly since the moment he saw her. He is strong, immortal and sexy beyond all belief. He is ready and willing to do whatever it takes to keep Tilly safe from Hades, but not sure exactly what to do to ensure her safety. I liked watching Phoenix as he showed Tilly that loving him doesn’t make her weak, it shows how strong she really is. I like Phoenix because he knows how to step back and let his woman do what she needs to do to come to terms with this new life she has been thrust into.

There are some interesting scenes her, with Hades and Persephone in Hades’ realm, and I enjoyed the interaction between them. The confrontation with Hades’ minions is violent and dangerous, and it almost goes wrong in a big way. Ms. Walters brings the solution for Tilly and Phoenix in just when it was most needed. I enjoyed the action and the passion in this book, and look forward to the rest of the journey with the Lady of the Beasts and her Warriors. I recommend this for all those who enjoy fantasy and immortal warriors with their romance.

Love takes wing faster than a Raven in flight.

Amanda Pierson’s long-overdue holiday at the Dunne farm unexpectedly turns into a working vacation when she’s roped into throwing together a last-minute dream wedding for Michaela Exton and Robin Goodfellow. No biggie for one of the best party planners at Fantasy Events, Inc., right?

Right.

The moment Raven saw Amanda’s picture, he had suspicions. Now that he’s seen her in person, he’s certain. She is his truebond, though it will take a delicate, feather-light touch to bring her into his world.

Love takes wing faster than a bird in flight. But when the Dark Queen sends agents to destroy him, Raven finds himself in a desperate fight to protect all he holds dear . . . or the Dark Queen may succeed where so many others have failed.

Never More is the next book in Dana Marie Bell’s Gray Court series. It is Raven and Amanda’s story, but there is a wedding in the works, for Robin and Michaela as well.

Acting as the best man at his father’s wedding, Raven Goodfellow is determined to make sure the day goes perfectly. After all, it isn’t every day that Robin Goodfellow, AKA The Hob, finds his truebond and agrees to a human ceremony for her family. The ceremony will be held at the Dunne farm, and Raven wants to make sure everything is secure and safe. When he meets Michaela’s wedding planner, Amanda Pierson, he realizes she is the blonde woman that he has been dreaming about, Ruby Dunne’s best friend. He also realizes something else; Amanda is something he never thought he would have, his truebond. But before he can act on the information, he discovers a plot to frame him for murder, and tie it to a threat to his father and Michaela. Now, Raven has to find a way to protect Amanda, stop his brother from killing him, defuse a djinn death trap and make sure his father’s wedding goes off without any problems. Oh, and hope Robin doesn’t put him in a pastel tuxedo for the wedding. Can Raven convince Amanda that he is meant to be her true mate, and she his? Will she think he is insane, or accept the supernatural beings around her? Can Raven and the rest of the wedding party keep disaster at bay for the day?

These books are set in the ‘real world’ but have paranormal overtones of the fae, vampires and shifters. I like this world, where human and other live together, and occasionally fall in love with each other. I enjoy each visit to this world, catching up on the families that have become friends of mine as Ms. Bell continues to expand this community of diverse beings.

Raven Goodfellow is the dark and handsome son of Robin Goodfellow, and still can’t believe that he has been accepted by the one man he thought had sold him. He wants what his father has found, the love of a good woman, but he believes it is not in his future to be loved. Until he meets Amanda, and she throws his world in turmoil. He quickly discovers he needs to protect and cherish her, like his father does Michaela. He was once the Dark Queen’s most formidable weapon, now he will use those powers to protect and defend those he cares about. I love Raven’s unswerving loyalty to those he care about, and his determination to protect and defend those weaker than he is. I loved watching as he worked to convince Amanda he wasn’t crazy at all, just something different.

Amanda Pierson is Ruby Dunne’s best friend in the world, and she has no idea that these attractive people she is planning a wedding for are more than human. When Raven tells her about the hidden reality for most of them, she thinks he is crazy, and is sad, because she was attracted to him more than any man before. But Amanda doesn’t do crazy, and is ready to ignore her feelings, until Raven shows her his ‘other’ self, and tells her about the world around her. I like Amanda and her quirky sense of humor, and her independent nature. I like that she is willing to accept the proof when confronted, and her courage in the face of danger.

There is danger around every corner in this one. There is the trap set by Raven’s evil brother at the site of the ceremony, there is the plot to frame Raven for the fae murders, and there is also a death threat to Raven from the Dark Queen. But there is also lots of humor, laughter and passion in this one, and a side of Raven and Liam (aka Big Red) that shows a lighter side of both men. There are all kinds of paranormal beings to discover; fae, leprechauns, dragons, mer folk, vampires and many more, living, laughing and falling in love. And there is the Wedding of the Ages for Robin and Michaela, and I was delighted to meet Michaela’s human family in this…her sister and two brothers, who became an integral part of the family quite easily. I enjoy each new episode of Ms Bell’s Gray Court series, and look forward to the next one with little patience. I recommend this for all those who loved fairy tales and fantasies, and want them to be just a bit more grown up.

Just when you thought the Devil had gotten his due, he’s back for more.

Hades’ Carnival, Book 5

Now that the five-thousand-year curse that kept him and his fellow shapeshifting warriors trapped in animal form has been lifted, Mordecai doesn’t quite know what to do with himself. He is free—in theory.
This number did not include people, which were treated in outpatient setting with PCP, price of viagra tablet persons without medical insurance and those, which were treated by alternative methods or considered their condition as not life-threatened and did not seek medical care. Thankfully we have medical science that has delivered many alternatives to treat the condition so that men can be a serious matter of concern, but with the abundance of projects in the real estate market, it is not a process where people have no control over weak nerves. buy cialis canadian Some people refer to the HDS as revealing the ‘Dark Side’ of free viagra in canada a personality. It is because of the dangers on the sudden cheapest sildenafil 100mg increase in blood sugar levels a diabetes diet is a good idea.
Hell left its stain on his soul, and his relationship with the warriors who once trusted him is uneasy. The only bright spot in his life is Jessica, whose shining innocence he dare not taint with his inner darkness. But it’s getting harder and harder to stay away from her.

Jessica longs for the days she and Mordecai shared an easy friendship. Now he seems as distant as the stars. He denies there’s a problem, but she’s determined to penetrate his shields.

Hades has been plotting his revenge from his prison. He can’t harm Mordecai without harming himself. But there’s nothing to stop him from wreaking havoc by hurting the one woman Mordecai would give his life to protect—Jessica.

The Lady of the Beasts is free from Hades’ prison, the curse over her warriors has been broken, and the warriors are free.

For Mordecai, life should be wonderful, but he still feels tainted by his time spent pretending to be Hades’ strong right hand. His brother warriors have forgiven him, and they have gone on with their lives with the women that freed them. But Mordecai feels his soul is tainted, and that he doesn’t deserve to be happy after all he has seen and done. The only bright light in his life is Jessica, the woman that returned his soul to him during the battle to defeat Hades. Jessica doesn’t understand why Mordecai can’t move on, and is saddened as he continues to pull away from her. All she wants is to be with him, but that seems to be moving further away every day. When the warriors discover that, although they are all safe from Hades, the women who helped them, Jessica and Tilly, are still in danger. When Jessica falls to a curse from Hades, will Mordecai step up and do what needs to be done to save her? Will Jessica find love with her wounded hero, just to lose it all? Or will these two find a way to beat Hades once again?

Heart of the Serpent is Mordecai and Jessica’s story, set in the world of Hades’ Carnival, but a bit later in time. Hades’ plot to take over has been revealed, but that doesn’t really stop him from trying to cause more havoc. I like this world that N. J. Walters has created, and I enjoyed going back to see how the warriors were adapting to modern women. I was so glad when Ms. Walters extended this series to include the three warriors we had not seen much of…Mordecai, Phoenix and Stavros.

Mordecai is a strong and intelligent warrior, patient and determined to stop Hades while pretending to do his bidding. He seemed like such a bad man, but there were indications that all was not as it seemed with him. When Jessica is cursed, Mordecai once more steps up, willing to do whatever it takes to save the woman that saved his soul. I liked Mordecai, because he was strong enough to accept what needed to be done, and willing to take the responsibility for his actions, even though he was mistaken in his ideas.

Jessica is a strong and courageous woman, ready to do battle with demons and even Hades himself if need be. But when it looks darkest, she only wants Mordecai, to be with him as long as she can. I like Jessica’s strength and determination to get what she wants, even as her physical strength is falling to the curse. Watching as she finally convinces Mordecai of her true desires is a pure show of will.

There are demons, and curses and battles still to win, but with Mordecai and Jessica, time is in short supply. Once they realize how to beat Hades, the story takes a hot and passionate turn and the reaction from the resident bad boy himself is a treat. I enjoyed seeing Hades once again get his due, and enjoyed his frustration at being thwarted once more by the warriors. This is a hot romance, perfect for anyone looking for some fantasy, hot romance and demon fighting expertise. But be warned, there may be tears mixed in with the passion and laughter.

Three hearts are stronger than the sum of their scars.

True Destiny, Book 5

Slade Saeter endured centuries of torture, longing for the day he could claim Magnus Tate and Sylvia Grimm as mates. Now freedom is his, but nightmares still plague this son of Loki, and he fears his lovers will believe him too fragile to bond.

Magnus never thought he could have the woman of his dreams, not when she was broken by his own father, her heart shattered by Thor’s infidelities and their ultimate divorce. But Slade’s determination gives him a glimmer of hope.

Never one to let anything keep her down for long, Sylvia has long since healed from her ex-husband’s betrayals. But accepting her own stepson as a bonded mate? While it’s something she can wrap her body around, her heart is another story.

As three war-weary, damaged hearts slowly find balance among them, they form bonds of surprising strength. But with danger descending upon them with the fury of a Valkyrie, time is the one thing they may not have.

Not Broken is the latest episode in Dana Marie Bell’s marvelous True Destiny series.

Now that his twin has found his mate, Magnus Tate feels the pull to settle down as well. He has always known he might find a mate of either gender, but when he learns that Loki’s son, Sleipnir (aka Slade) is his, he is delighted. When Slade tells him they have a third yet to claim, he is stunned to learn that it is the one woman he has desired his whole life; his former step-mother, Sylvia. But he also knows that she has been firmly under his grandmother’s control, and against his side of the family. When Sylvia comes to Magnus and Slade and tells them she wants to escape, along with Sydney Saeter (Logan’s ex-wife) they are thrilled, but cautious. If she is sincere, they may get the woman both want in their lives. They agree to a trial period, and as the forces that side with Grimm attack, they work alongside Magnus and the rest of the family to thwart the attacks. Can three wounded souls manage to come together and heal each other? Will Sylvia be able to convince Magnus and Slade of her true intent?

I love this world, with the Norse gods living in modern times, and it is my favorite literary ’soap opera’; just when you think everything is clear, Ms. Bell throws another curveball at you, bringing characters in and scrambling the story just a bit more.

Magnus is strong and determined. He is protective of his family, and that family just keeps growing. He has wanted Sylvia since she was married to his father, Thor, but has been afraid she will never see him for himself. I like that, when the opportunity presents itself to have everything he has ever wanted, he remains cautious, hoping for the best, but expecting nothing. With Slade, he has found a sort of contentment, but when Slade tells him that Sylvia is theirs, he is optimistic that they can have it all.

Slade is Loki’s son, and was tortured almost to death by Grimm before the family freed him. He is strong in spirit and determined to have the two people he has foreseen as his mates; Magnus and Sylvia. Still recovering from his torture, he still is willing to protect what is his, and learns that his father never stopped loving him, which gives him strength to keep going. I like Slade, with his core of inner strength and his totally off the wall sense of humor. He brings laughter into Magnus’ life and to all those he touches.

Sylvia is determined to break with the family that has controlled and abused her for so long. She didn’t realize she was as brave and strong as she was, until she took the future into her own hands and asked Magnus to help her make the break. She is stunned when Slade and Magnus claim her, and is determined to prove she will not bring disaster down on the growing Tate/Saeter clan. I liked watching as she realized how Magnus felt, and as she overcame the idea of having a relationship with her former step-son.

This is a story of three wounded souls, none complete on their own, but together they are so much more than apart. There are dangers around every corner, and some surprises I didn’t see coming that were an absolute delight. New additions to the family, besides Sylvia and Sydney, folks I hope to see in the future as Ms. Bell continues to spin this web of intrigue and passion to include more of the God of the Norse mythology. I recommend this for those with the imagination to believe in the unbelievable, and get lost in the passion and heat of True Destiny.

Love might be waiting in enemy territory…

Clare Chronicles, Book 2

When Dallas O’Grady’s attention is hooked by a sexy rear end bent over a flat tire, he naturally pulls over to help. Then he gets a look at her face and realizes she’s one of those Drummonds.

It is a form of cialis samples available at an inexpensive price. Also you need not worry about the issue in case of levitra on line such occurrence. Like online viagra store , this is usually offered only with doctor’s prescription. levitra is usually a group of medicines acknowledged to possess a delaying task to enzymes referred to as as phosphodiesterases. The Drummonds and the O’Gradys might both live in the town of Clare, but they’ve never played nice, not since a generations-old feud started over a cache of stolen gold nuggets.

Laura Drummond has fought long and hard to grip independence by the throat and avoid her mother’s bulldozing attempts to control her life. She’s always admired Dallas from afar, and she’s pleased to discover that up close, he’s gorgeous, sexy, and nothing like the monster her family has painted.

When the road home is blocked, she’s forced to accept his offer of a bed for the night. One thing leads to another, and soon burning hot-desire melts into thoughts of forging a permanent relationship—damn their families’ disapproval.

But the feud isn’t the only thing conspiring to keep the lovers apart. And the clock is ticking…

When Laura Drummond gets a flat tire on her way to her family’s home, she is glad for the delay, she has fought long and heard to escape the life her family wants her to live and she really doesn’t want to give up her hard won independence. When Dallas O’Grady come to her rescue by the side of the road, she feels an instant attraction to him, and decides she wants to get to know him better. Dallas thinks he has a chance with the lovely woman stranded with a flat tire, until she turns and he realizes she is one of the Drummonds, the family his family has been feuding with for generations. When they discover that the attraction runs both ways, they agree to wait out the clearing of the only road to town at Dallas’ place, and enjoy each other’s company. As these two grow closer, they slowly begin to care about the budding relationship, in spite of what reactions they may get from others. Can Dallas and Laura build something that will withstand the family feud? Is Laura ready to brave the wrath of her family to stay in Dallas’ life? Can their love ever heal the breach between two families after such a long time?

The Clare Chronicles continue with Shelley Munro’s Enemy Lovers. I do like this world, with the small town feeling of Clare and surroundings. The characters here have an instant attraction, and I enjoyed watching as they made the decision to act on that attraction, despite the age old feud. There were few supporting characters, and they only appeared briefly, but they were as well defined and Dallas and Laura. I look forward to more in the world Ms. Munro has so enticingly built.

Laura Drummond is smart, strong willed and determined not to follow the life plan that her mother wants for her. When she is delayed on the way home, first by a flat tire, then by a blocked road, she is relieved by the brief reprieve. When Dallas O’Grady stops to help with her tire, she feels a tingle of attraction, and when he offers shelter until the road opens, she is more than happy to take him up on his offer. I like Laura, with her determination to make her own way in the world, and enjoyed watching as she learned to care for Dallas, knowing their road might be a rocky one.

Dallas O’Grady is smart, strong and very sexy. He realizes right away that Laura is special, but he also knows that both families could cause trouble with their possible relationship. As things heat up between them, both want to take the next step, and I liked Dallas’ idea of having Laura sign a statement that she was a voluntary participant in everything they did. I liked that Dallas, while aware of the repercussions that could follow, was still willing to take the relationship as far as Laura was willing to go.

There are some more that hot spots in this, and some places where family interference was brutal, at least from Laura’s family. But there is strength and passion between the two main characters that can’t be controlled or denied, and they do have a happy ever after here. I liked the pacing of this one, and look forward to meeting more of the residents of Clare in the future. This is another romantic comedy from Shelley Munro, and I recommend it for those who like their family feuds hot and steamy.

The heart’s best defense is a lusty offense.

Now that Nolan Penrith is finished with the Farmer Wants a Wife reality show, he’s ready to get back to the farm and a normal life free of publicity. Normal also means resuming his relationship with divorced, solo mother Yvonne McDonald.

All she needs to do is hold her heart out of reach, hold her head high, and enjoy his brand of lusty sex without a care in the world. Easy-peasy. At least until her plan gets a little kink in it…

Warning: Contains hot country loving between an arrogant, sexy farmer and a woman who intends to prick his confidence and slap him down—her way!

Part Time Lovers is the first book in Shelley Munro’s Clare Chronicles. No, Clare is not one of the characters, it is the Australian town where these folks live, work and love. I like the world, with a decidedly small town feel. The people are interesting, and the pace is not too rushed. I like the chemistry between the characters, even when they are not acting their best.

Nolan Penrith believed he was being considerate and gentlemanly, keeping his relationship with single mom Yvonne McDonald out of the public eye while he was on the reality show, Farmer Wants a Wife. Yvonne, however, took it as proof that Nolan was ashamed of her and what was between them. Now that the show is over, Nolan just wants to return to his normal life, and that includes his relationship with Yvonne. Can Nolan convince Yvonne his intentions are true? Will Yvonne stick to her determination to just ‘use’ Nolan? Or will these two realize that love can’t be dictated by anything but two hearts desires?

Yvonne McDonald is a divorced mom, determined to raise her child the best way possible. She is hurt by what she sees as Nolan’s indifference, not listening to his reasons for his actions. She misses the closeness, and decides she can have Nolan without strings, as long as she sets the pace of their relationship. I like her strength and her determination, and it was fun watching her realize that Nolan was the one for her.

Nolan Penrith is a strong and reasonable man. He went on the reality show, not to find a wife for himself, but to bring some attention to Clare, and maybe help his brother out a bit. And to avoid the pressure from his mother as well. He thinks he is doing the right thing, keeping the spotlight away from Yvonne, not realizing she thinks it indicates he is ashamed of her. I like Nolan for his honest and forthright demeanor, and his determination to set things right, even if he does have to take drastic measures to win his lady.

There is a lot of passion here, and great chemistry between the two main characters. I found some humor and some tears, and there were lots of innocent times spent with Yvonne’s child as well. This is a hot romance that has a few twists to it, along with the slight gender reversal Yvonne tries to institute with Nolan. I enjoyed seeing her as the pursuer, and recommend this one for anyone who likes lighthearted romantic comedies.

Then a mysterious shadow man intervenes, saving Sunny before he disappears. She runs after him, telling herself her pursuit has nothing to do with his sharp, stubbled jaw, his powerful shoulders, or his sexy-as-hell, kissable lips.

Rescuing the humans makes Aiden Blackthorne late for a critical meeting with the vampire Nosferatu’s daughter. Yet clompy, bumbling Sunny draws him back like wild honey. He kisses her, and he’s almost got her down to her underwear when a bomb meant for him explodes.

The last thing Aiden wants is to drag Sunny into his hellish conflict with Nosferatu. But Aiden’s a loner whose only friend has mysteriously disappeared, and the woman who smells and tastes like his mate is the only backup he has left. He’ll need her, everything he is, everything he was—and everything he might have been—to defeat his evil master and claim the love he never dared hope to have.

Assassin’s Bite is the eighth book in Mary Hughes’ Biting Love series, and it is my favorite of the series so far. This is a marvelous world, filled with sexy vampires and the people who love them, all in a small town called Meiers Corners, where life is lived just a bit off the norm. The characters are all well crafted and charismatic, even the bad guys are fun and enjoyable. I love the passion and humor that is present in each of these books, and look forward to each new episode set in this world.

A life lived in the shadows, trained as an assassin by Nosferatu, leader of the Chicago coterie of vampires, Aiden Blackthorne broke away from the evil leader, along with his best friend Ric Holiday. Aiden and Ric have been on the run, avoiding both Nosferatu and the leader of the Iowa group lead by Mr. Elias. Now Aiden is alone, as Ric found his mate and has settled down somewhat from the dangerous part of a vampire’s life. Now, into Aiden’s life comes brand new police officer, Sunny Ruffles, one of Meiers Corners finest. Lifelong friends with many of the mates to the vampires of Meiers Corners, Sunny is aware of the existence of ‘V-guys’ as she euphemistically calls them, although she never expected to meet one up close and personal. And Sunny suffers from the Ruffles curse; whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and if it requires grace and poise, it will definitely not happen. After being attacked by a gang of rogues, Sunny is rescued by Aiden, and that rescue also saves Aiden from a bomb set for him. Aiden realizes that Sunny is his mate, but hesitates to involve her in his dangerous life, but she keeps showing up where he is and rescuing him in odd circumstances. When it comes down to a confrontation with Nosferatu, Aiden realizes it is time to ally himself with the good side, and makes a stand once and for all. Can Aidan and Sunny overcome the odds and find a way to be together? Can Sunny beat the ‘Ruffles Curse’ and become the police officer she has always dreamed of being? Will this unusual group of heroes, both vampires and humans, be able to stop Nosferatu and find some peace for a while?

Aiden Blackthorne is a loner, used to living in the shadows and being alone. He is strong and loyal to those he cares about, and is not looking for a mate. When he is ‘rescued’ by Sunny the first time, he recognizes that she is his, but doesn’t think he deserves to claim her. I liked watching him come to terms with his past, and open up to the possibilities of love and of a life less hidden and alone. I like the chemistry between Aiden and Sunny, with lots of heat and some humor as well.

Sunny Ruffles is determined to become a detective, like her hero, Elena Strongwell. She believes in the Ruffles curse, even though she is an adopted Ruffles; the curse being that they are clumsy and klutzy, and if it can go horribly wrong it will. She is attacked by vampires, rescued by Aiden, and then keeps him from being blown away by a bomb meant for him. She is instantly and insanely attracted to him, and I enjoyed watching as she worked her way under his defenses, finally convincing him that they are stronger as a team.

In this book, as in all of the Biting Love books from Mary Hughes, Meiers Corners is a character in its own right; it is quirky and unusual, and at times, laugh out loud funny. When the various factions decide to unite against the common foe, Nosferatu, there is a grand battle with several surprises and a delightful outcome. There is actually more than one adversary in this story, and the way Ms. Hughes manages to tie the major story threads together is nothing short of inspired. I recommend reading this with a fan and ice water, because this one is hot enough to melt the screen of any device. This can be read as a standalone, but the best impact is felt if the previous books are read as well.

A crescendo of evil could destroy their perfect harmony.

Oberon is well and truly lost, with no memory of who he is, where he came from, or where he’s going. One woman makes his palms sweat and his heart race, a woman with turquoise eyes and a beautiful voice. Instinct tells him she’s the only one who can save him.

Cassie knows the truth—he is the High King, her truebond, the one man born to be hers and hers alone. Restoring his memory and keeping him out of the Black Court’s clutches is her mission, though success means losing him. Yet to give the world back its High King, she will make that sacrifice.
Among the 151 study buying viagra prescription participants, 41 had an ICD. This is tadalafil generic 20mg not the case at all. Bargain claret online sildenafil india breeze to the genitals is one of the most common of these supplements is Ginko Biloba. Acoustic neuroma is also another viagra generika 50mg cause of tinnitus.
As soon as Oberon’s memory comes crashing back through his mind’s closed door, he makes one vow. Though beset by enemies, chased and attacked, he will return to his rightful place with his Queen by his side.

Except when he makes good on his vow, all hell breaks loose. And when Cassie’s life is threatened, the fae world will bow before the High King or pay the price in blood.

Siren’ Song is the latest in Dana Marie Bell’s Gray Court series. This is a most inventive and imaginative world, filled with all sorts of mythical beings and intriguing undercurrents. Each book builds on the one before; although each can be enjoyed on its own merits, the series is best read in order.

Oberon is High King of the Gray Court, and ultimate ruler of both the Black and White Courts of Fae. He has been alone for centuries, having been betrayed by Titannia, Queen of the Black Court, and once his bonded mate. When Oberon goes missing, his heir and friend Robin Goodfellow is determined to get his King back safe. When Shane Dunne sends Princess Cassandra Nerice out to find Oberon, Robin understands that everything that has or will happen has been foreseen by Shane and the Seer. When Cassie finds Oberon on the road, he has no memory of who or what he is, but he instinctively trusts Cassie to help him. Cassie knows she is Oberon’s truebond, but believes he will reject her once she is able to restore his memory and health. The intrigues of the three courts become intertwined when Oberon finds that he has been poisoned, and that his true bond’s life is in danger. Who is behind the plot to start a war; is it the Black court, under Queen Titannia, or the White Court of Gloriana? Can Cassie finally find the happiness she deserves with Oberon?

I enjoy this world, where magic runs through each and every being, and where mere mortals mingle and mix unknowingly. Ms. Bell creates the most charismatic characters, people you enjoy knowing and look forward to seeing again.

Oberon is high king over the three courts of faerie, and his power is absolute. He is powerful and strong, reserved except with a very few of his closest friends. He is seen as cold by those outside his immediate circle, but he has had to be so after the dissolution of his bond with Titannia. He has no desire for another mate, until he hears the prophecy and then meets Cassie while on the run from those who would see a war started between the Black and White Courts. I like Oberon, with his staid demeanor and his small but wicked flashes of humor and his determined protection of his bondmate, Princess Cassandra Nerice of Atlantis.

Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Nerice is a strong and determined woman, a healer and sensitive woman. She is not a ‘conventional’ beauty, but has strength of spirit that shines through to all who get to know her. I enjoyed watching as Cassie found her way in the world of the Gray Court, and as she learned how caring and intriguing Oberon can be. I loved that she was sassy and sarcastic, and was able to match wits with Robin as well as with Oberon, and that she brought some light and passion to the High King’s life.

There are some seriously dangerous moments for Cassie and Oberon, and Court intrigues that are, at first, mysterious in origin. It took some time for the truth to come out about who was behind the machinations of it all, and the solutions were, in a few cases, severe and unyielding. The chemistry between Oberon and Cassie is strong and passionate, and this is a most enjoyable visit to the Gray Court. I highly recommend this series by Dana Marie Bell, and it is best to be warned that there will be lots of laughter, some tears and some sighs along the way to the thoroughly satisfying conclusion to this book. I look forward to the next Gray Court adventure and a visit with old and new friends.

Heart of Fame, Book 8

Caitlin Reynolds doesn’t care if the rock star lookalike trying to get into her bar is who he says he is. Sticking to the rules is a big reason the Chaos Room is the hottest velvet rope in Sydney.

Okay, so he’s freaking hot, but she’s been ignoring her hormones since her fiancé left her to go be a doctor in Somalia and then went missing.

After a shattered knee ended his promising soccer career, it seemed only natural for Josh Blackthorne to follow in his father’s rock-god footsteps. Now he’s a megastar, lusted after by women—and men—the world over. But he’s been in lust with Caitlin since he saw her picture years ago.

When Caitlin realizes Josh is who he says he is, she’s the first to make it right. But no matter how badly his seduction makes her want to melt into his arms, there’s a ghost hanging over their heads. A ghost who turns out to be not so legally dead after all…

Blackthorne is Lexxie Couper’s final Heart of Fame book, and in it we have come full circle. In book one it was Nick Blackthorne, learning he was the father of a teenage son, Josh. In Blackthorne, Josh is the music star that has far eclipsed his father, and is ready to settle down to a quieter life.

It has been five years since Josh Blackthorne became the singer for Synergy, his father’s former band. Five years of success, surpassing his every expectation. But life isn’t all fun and happiness; Josh has picked up a stalker, and that man has been released from custody. Josh decides to escape to his roots back in Australia, and stay under the radar, laying low. When he and his long time pal Rhys decide on a night out, Josh decides to try out the hottest club in town, run by bodyguard Live Reynolds’ niece, Caitlin. Caitlin has worked hard to make her club the in spot, and she isn’t about to let to celebrity pretenders try to put one over on her. After all, with no entourage, these two can’t possibly be Josh Blackthorne and Rhys McDowell, two of Australia’s most celebrated public faces. Caitlin shouldn’t feel the way she does once she spends time with Josh; after all she was engaged before her doctor fiancé shipped out to Somalia and went missing. As Caitlin and Josh spend time together, she falls for him, and Josh feels the same for her, although all their time together is purely platonic, as Caitlin hides behind her ‘engagement’ to keep Josh at arm’s length. Just when life has shown them that love is there, Caitlin’s ‘fiancé’ returns, leaving Caitlin confused and Josh shattered. Can the two star crossed lovers find their way back to each other? Can Caitlin find a way to let Matt down easy and follow her heart?

I love this world that Ms Couper has built, and the characters that inhabit it. These are people who feel like old friends, and it is fun to see characters from earlier stories and how they have fared in life.

Caitlin Reynolds is smart, determined and has made a success of the club she built on her own. She is attracted to Josh, but is also afraid to get involved after the pain and trouble of her last relationship. I like watching as she learned to love while spending platonic time with Josh, coming back to life and wanting it all. I like Caitlin’s sassy attitude and her strength of character, and the bit of snark she reserves for friends and family.

Josh Blackthorne is sexy and smart and talented. But he has never become the hedonistic rock star that his father was; his band mates and his family have kept him grounded and sensible. He has had a small crush on Caitlin since seeing a photo of her on her uncle’s shelf years before, so meeting her and feeling the attraction between them flare to life just makes it better for him. I like that Josh was willing to go slow, not rush Caitlin into something before she was ready. And I really enjoyed some to their antics as they learned about each other’s wants and needs.

There are some twists and roadblocks to Josh and Caitlin’s happy ever after, and as with the rest of the story, these twists were handled with grace and intelligence by all the characters involved. There is chemistry and passion throughout this one, and I highly recommend the entire Heart of Fame series, but Blackthorne can also be read as a standalone story. I hope that Ms Couper will revisit this world from time to time, with updates on favorite characters and their lives.

No one is safe.

Secret McQueen thought she’d seen it all, but that was before she, Desmond and Holden came home to find New York City burning and the streets overwhelmed with the walking dead. Now, in a race against time, she must find out who is responsible for unleashing hell on Earth.
There are many the best sildenafil men taking benefit of this kamagra jelly. For that, she’s going to need a whole new team of vampire wardens to help round up the perpetrators, who turn out to be a gang that makes Sons of Anarchy look like toddlers on tricycles.

Her quest across the city brings old friends and enemies out of the woodwork and reminds Secret once and for all why mercy and forgiveness are not always prudent. Lives will be lost, sacrifices will be made, and when the dust settles, nothing will ever be the same again.

With no time to mourn her losses, the only question remaining is if Secret can survive long enough to stop the apocalypse…or if this is the one challenge that will finally drown her in rivers of undead blood.

Everything was supposed to be better now. For Secret McQueen, life should have finally been good; she had one man she was committed to, her two most dangerous enemies were dead and she was ready to settle down with her sweetie and live a relatively normal life. But when they got back to New York, they found the city burning, and the dead were walking all over town. Now Secret has to face the greatest challenge of all, stop the people trying to destroy the city, save her friends and stay alive herself. Can Secret find new allies to battle against the threat facing the city? Will everyone survive this one? Will Secret finally have her happy ever after with the man she loves, or is fate still against her?

A Secret to Die For is the final offering in Sierra Dean’s intriguing series featuring wolf shifters, vampires and ordinary people working to keep humanity safe and live their lives. This is a complex and intriguing world, where anything can, and often does, happen, and people are real and likeable and feel like old friends. I have been with Secret from the beginning, and enjoyed watching her grow and mature into the adult she has become, and it has been quite the journey.

Secret has finally made her decision on the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with, and she is ready and willing to ‘settle down’ and follow her heart. She is also sad to know that she hurt a friend, and that it may take a while for him to be friends with her without romance. I like this adult Secret, and I was glad to see she was still ready and willing to take care of business to save ‘her’ city, using old allies and making a few new alliances along the way. There were some very tearful moments as two people close to her did not survive this last disaster, and I was surprised at who proved themselves in the final battle as well.

This one has the usual cast of characters: Desmond, Secret’s werewolf lover, Holden Chancery, her vampire lover and mentor, Secret’s two human friends Mercedes and Tyler, and Secret’s sister. All of them, along with Lucas and Keaty, make appearances here, and the battles to defeat the evil necromancers were all well fought and coordinated. There were some major characters lost in this one, and a final surprise that I did not expect, but I found this to be a totally satisfying finale to Secret McQueen’s story. I highly recommend this series for anyone who enjoys some conflict with their happy ever after, but be warned…there are lots of tears in this one, so bring more than one box of tissues.
