I was in the mood for dragon and got more than my fill in this story were dragon meet dragon slayer. Ja’Darien may not be a slayer in this situation. Kerkira has one up on him since he recognizes him as his mate. But a relationship between a dragon and dragon slayer would never work; or would it?

Short stories for me in the past have been perplexing. I just cannot seem to get into the plot as much as I would like in such a short amount of time. Except in this story the plot was so action packed I fell right into place. With only seventeen pages it is an art to make a complete storyline, but author KyAnn Water’s did just that. I think the author could have easily turned this short story into a full novel and it would have been just as enjoyable.

Kerkira brings a new meaning to chasing tale. His tail is an interesting additive to sex play. If more men had tails they would not need us women, so I am thankful they do not have Kerkira’s abilities, but it did make for an interesting read…especially if you don’t mind feeling a little flustered. I was first introduced to the hero, Officer Wolf Savage. Despite his name, he’s not all that mean. His character certainly could be but for this story I got to see the dominant crème puff inside. The only time I get to see the softie inside him is when he interacts with the heroine. Protect and Serve: Savage Wolf is a hot and entertaining read. It’s a short story condensed with the elements romance readers look for when they need that short shot of woo-hoo on the wild side. The best part is that I had a fun time reading this story. Wolf and Natalie are so good together and even their happily ever after fit them to a tee. How can you beat that?

Add to that complication, the fact that Sebastian’s lover is immortal and jaded by centuries of one night stands, and I’m pretty sure you will understand the dilemma he faces in Love Immortal. Ms. Addams combines vampires and smoking hot manlove in this historical romance, sure to keep the reader turning pages far into the night.

The characters in this book were well written and I was able to sympathize with their emotions and actions. At first I was ready to give a verbal smack down to Laurent for his cavalier attitude toward love, but soon changed my mind as the plot progressed and more of his reasoning was revealed. Sebastian, the submissive character, was endearing and made me want to bundle him up in a warm blanket and give him lots of comfort food. The ability to bring out the anger and protectiveness in me seems to be Ms. Addams specialty, and I appreciated her effort as it enhanced the realism of the story.

Love Immortal is definitely not your mama’s romance book; it’s better. The story ended rather abruptly, but adequately summed up the drama climaxing right before The End. There were a few grammatical and spelling errors, but they did not detract too much from the flow of the book.

If you are searching for an authentic-feeling historical novel, filled with angst, lost love, and second chances then you will enjoy reading this book. The first in the Mysterious Moonlight series, I look forward to reading more of Ms. Addams works. What’s not to like about a romance writing Viking vampire? I guess it could be the folks he hangs around with or the fact that once a person knows about vampires they can never leave. But would they really want to?

The book is told from the Dekker’s first person point of view and Kierra’s first person point of view, alternating between chapters.

There is a lot that goes on in this book. There are old rivalries and betrayals, political power plays and innocence lost. Kierra’s life is completely altered when a villain from Dekker’s past shows up and raises the ante by kidnapping her. It’s the pivotal moment when their budding romance gets accelerated to the point of no return. I liked that both the hero and heroine liked each other before the conflict started because it made it plausible for what came afterwards.

Dekker is a man of many talents and years. I thought it was really hot when the author had Kierra read something that Dekker wrote. I bet that was a lot of fun. I also appreciated the fact that Ms. Black had the hero advancing and changing with the times. Although the back and forth between the first person POVs seemed a bit disjointed, I thought the dialogue flowed smoothly and I liked the conflict. I also enjoyed Segrun, Dekker’s sister, and thought the author did an awesome job of describing hers and her companions’ entrance at one point in the story. That was super cool.

I sort of wished that both Kierra’s and Dekker’s characters were a bit more developed than they were but the author gave me enough to enjoy the story and I certainly did have a good time reading this book.

Viking Seduction: Blood Slave is a fascinating look into a seductive and highly addicting world of vampires and their relationships with humans. I enjoyed the world building and I think both Nate and Segrun show true potential for strong characters in future books. For those readers who enjoy it like I do, there’s plenty of bite action making this book a hot read. Try it and see.

She’s had to fend for herself for so long that I would’ve expected her to want to be more independent and perhaps a little more headstrong and defiant. While having Cooper step in and try to right some of the wrongs that have happened to Laney is very heroic; the problem is that he treats her too often like a child and her brothers do the same. His domination of her just seemed to me like a different type of abuse than from the one that she previously suffered. The characters, separately, do have some redeeming qualities, but as a couple, they are just a little too unreal.

The story itself can be at times quite depressing but the mystery surrounding some unusual events is what kept my attention. I really wanted to know “whodunit” and more importantly why. While I wouldn’t recommend this story for readers looking for a quick and light shifter read, I would recommend to those looking for a story with lots of steamy sex and plenty of tender moments.

One person he never thought he’d have a chance with is the blonde hottie he fantasized about. Segrun is a Viking warrior turned vampiress. What a wonderful character she is and when Grady finally gets a chance to understand what her life has been like it’s a pivotal shift in their relationship. Segrun comes across originally as a tough as nails user of men, but when Grady earns her trust readers find out she is even more interesting that they might have imagined.

Another aspect that is well written was the hot and literally furious love scenes between the hero and heroine. Talk about wild and no holds barred – nothing boring about these two. The author placed each frenetic and scorching scene where they’d have the most value in forwarding the plot while vastly entertaining the reader at the same time. There was a good balance between the story and the heated skin scenes and I appreciate the author’s talent.

The secondary characters were interesting and valuable to both the hero and heroine and based upon how the story ended, I suspect there will be another book about one of them, hopefully soon.

Yes, there is a happily ever after and the byplay between Segrun and Grady made it fun. In fact I loved how the two verbally sparred with each other – it was great dialogue. And although the story ended happy for them, the author introduced a political wrinkle that will surely test the strength and loyalty of the friendships made during the course of this tale. To say that I’m interested in what comes next is an understatement. Viking Seduction: Blood Hunter rocked and I can’t wait to find out what new excitement this talented author has in store for readers.

The physical attraction between Madria and Antonius was certainly hot, but it almost felt like the book’s plot was mainly about their having sex, and that their dilemma was merely a subplot. Ms. Nour has an excellent descriptive ability. Her idea behind the story is enticing, and makes for an interesting read.

I wanted to know what happen to both “villains” in this story, but instead I had to settle for only one.

There is no actual forced scene within this story, but it is discussed both in internal dialogue and character dialogue so I felt it needed to be mentioned. Angel is living far from the glamour life and violence, drugs and hooking are a regular part of her life, so if these things make you squeamish you may want to take that into consideration.

Not only were the main characters in this story entertaining, but so were the secondary characters. Two characters that I couldn’t get enough of were Abby and Kaleb. I have a feeling that Kaleb is a docile house cat hiding behind a jungle cat coat. Abby is just a sweetie I wanted to embrace in a giant huge and never let go. If you ask me she was the cleverest character in the story. She always seemed to know what to do and when to do it.

The author set herself up nicely for a sequel if she decides to make this a series, and if it is anything like the first story I am sure she will have continued success.
