If you love Ms. Brooke’s Desire series, you’re sure to feel the same about her Dakota Heat series. Her Dakota Men is the first book in this new series and I know I fell in love with the characters from the first pages.

Stacy Daniels has a problem that I would love to have myself. She grew up with the Dakota boys and has loved them from the time she was small. Stacy left the ranch to escape her abusive father and returns for his funeral to find things have changed. He seemed to be the kindest and most serious of the brothers. His tenderness when Stacy was crying on their ride, his gentleness as he held her and the care that he took with Stacy as he made love to her all had me wanting Wolfe for myself. Cash and Travis both cared for Stacy and showed it in their actions as well, but not as tenderly.

Ms. Brooke has a fantastic ability to write ménage and her love for the genre shows in every story. I can’t wait for the next book in the Dakota Heat series.

I found Winning Virgin Love to be a fascinating story about a very complex family and their unusual way of discovering their loved ones. The story gets very complicated and many story lines unfold in this second book of the Winning Virgin Series.

I loved the character of Almonzo, who is the older twin of Orlando from the Winning Virgin Blood book. Almonzo saw his perfect mate, Tabitha, at the end of book one. Tabitha, is the little sister of Natasha, Orlando’s mate. Almonzo takes his role as future head of the Spenser family seriously. I saw how he tried to work out another second for Tabitha when the elders had made their determination. When Richart stepped in as the additional second, I loved that Almonzo showed his jealousy of the man he picked. I found Almonzo to be very loving and gentle to those he cares about. Tabitha is a very complex character. I could see the love she had for Almonzo in everything she did, but she fought loving him because I think she did not believe she was deserving of his love. Natasha held Almonzo at bay for three months before he forced he hand. She tried everything she could to get him to not want her. Tabitha played an important part in the development of a poison to be used against vampires but she is also a key to helping the elders determine what had happened that they did not yet know. I found her to be a likable character when she let loose with all her secrets.

Darian Sabbat is a minor character who is made out to be a bad guy in the story. I believe he was a misunderstood character who cared about Tabitha in his own way and I do not think he is as evil as the story leads me to believe. There were many more detailed characters in the story. The entire Spenser clan and their love of Tabitha and each other are thoroughly written about in this second book. I saw how the family members watch out for and protect each other throughout the story.

Once again, I am left hanging with some things I wanted to know but I believe they will be cleared up in the third installment of this fascinating series that I highly recommend reading.

I liked Chase, Slade and Devin Davis. They are three extremely hot cowboys who run their ranch and a side business along with a private club. The men are responsible (Chase), level-headed (Slade) and easy going (Devin) for the most part. I loved that Chase took over the responsibility of raising not only his brothers but also Patton after his parents died. All the men love Patton and always show their love for her . They are the owners and top Masters of the Cattleman’s Club along with trainers for Masters and slaves or pets. This assured them of income in order to provide Patton with everything they could give her and to pay for her schooling. The men do not want Patton in their lifestyle as they think she deserves better than them. I like that they always had a contingency plan.

Patton is harder to like. I felt that she came across at times as a spoiled brat. She lied about school, her business, her piercings and her motorcycle, just to name a few. I understood that Patton wanted to be with the Davis brothers as more than their sister — I know that I would have also! — but it took a while for me to warm up to her. Cole played a key part in Patton’s schemes to get the Davis brothers to open their minds to her way of thinking.

I really liked this story. There are so many things that go on, one minute I was laughing, the next I was shivering with anticipation. The only part of the story I did not like was that there was no resolution to the fire in this book. I hope the next book will be about Hailey and Cole and any loose ends from this book will be tied up in the next. Though there were several grammatical and editing errors in the book, I tried not to let them distract me from this very sexy read.

And be forewarned, I had the fire department standing by to make sure neither I nor my computer burst into flames while reading this scorching hot book.
