New to town, werewolf Dark can’t believe there’s a restaurant called The Vegan Werewolf. Even harder to swallow is the fact that the place smells amazing. The food, however, is easy to get down – it’s some of the best he’s ever had and that’s saying a lot as it’s, unbelievably, vegan. What’s also not hard to swallow is Erik, the sweet Chef of the restaurant, and Dark picks him up after the place closes.

Erik’s got a secret, though, one he keeps hidden deep down inside and Dark threatens to bring all the things Erik has buried to the surface.

Can Dark convince Erik that there’s more to life than being a vegan? And that, just maybe, wolves do mate for life?

Dark has only just wandered into town and is testing out all the new sights, scents and scenes. Following his nose, he ends up in front of a small restaurant with the most amazing smells emanating from it. He’s floored by the name – The Vegan Werewolf – but despite his deep skepticism he enters anyway. Anything smelling that good can’t be too bad – even if he knows he hates vegan food. Dark will soon find it’s more than the food here that his mouth waters for.

I absolutely, positively adored this super short story. I was quite skeptical myself – such a short story (not even 50 pages) and one with a werewolf and a chef didn’t sound like one of the best stories I’d read in months. I was utterly wrong – this story is likely one of my top 5 reads so far this year, and I’ve never been happier to be so delightfully surprised. I adored Dark’s character – he’s a werewolf and knows himself, warts and all. This doesn’t, however, stop him from trying something new or being open to possibilities. Despite the fact he knows he hates Vegan food, the smells he encounters – and his hungry stomach – press his hand to trying something completely outside his comfort food. And I loved how he could poke fun at himself as much as everything else – “What’s navarattan when it’s at home?”. I laughed like a loon at half the witty banter and adored the fact that Dark – and the author – clearly enjoyed this little story as a lighter piece and just rolled with it all.

Erik was a lovely contrast to this, slender, Vegan and denying his wolfish side. My only regret (and the reason I needed to deduct that half star) was because I really, really wish the author had been given enough space/word count to delve at least a little into why Erik felt the need to control his own restaurant and deny himself his wolf-half and go Vegan. Erik explains to Dark that he couldn’t handle killing other animals and eating meat despite his wolf, but Dark seemed to think there was something deeper in Erik’s past pressing this and that tiny plot point was left dangling and I don’t feel it was resolved fully. Everything else about this story was amazing – the sex glorious and passionate and instinctive, Erik and Dark both enjoying each other and unable to resist even before they came to know each other fully.

Readers looking for a blisteringly hot, super short and fun read with werewolves, delicious food, amazing scents and some laugh-out-loud funny moments should find this story and wonderful as I did. Highly Recommended.

Dolly Gallagher arrives in Loving, Montana to start over. And to be close to her aunt, the only family she has left. When she sees Luke, feelings she believed buried begin to blossom. But they need to stay professional, since she chooses Luke’s company to contract on her new bookshop. Working together makes Dolly realize she’s ready for love, but Luke is running scared. They’ll end up alone again, unless they can both open to love.

And they may be in the cold unless the Montana Matchmakers help them keep the warmth of love!

Luke had helped his elderly neighbor in a number of her matchmaking schemes but he had no interest in being set up himself. As long as he was comfortable and working well he was satisfied with his life. Dolly had come to town to spend some time with her elderly aunt and start up her own business – needing to get a handle on her life. Neither Dolly nor Luke were looking for romance, but the two elderly matchmakers in their lives are determined to see them together and happily settled.

With loads of old-school charm, I found this to be a really sweet and lovely romance story. Both Dolly and Luke have histories and hurts, their own private reasons for not wanting to jump into a romance with both feet. Yet the persistent and gentle prodding of Dolly’s Aunt and Luke’s neighbor has them each slowly edging towards a delicate trust and slow blossoming of a sweet and delightful romance. Readers who enjoy a small-town style of story and a slower pace should find this an exceptional story.

I loved how the author really delved into both Dolly and Luke’s characters. They are both multi-layered, realistic and interesting people and I loved having the time and space in the story to get to know them both. There are the usual problems with small towns (small minded people, gossip and the general nastiness inherent in humans) but I was pleased the author made this realistic and not too over the top, and also it was clearly a device used to show Luke and Dolly how they could find solidarity together and overcome these regular, ordinary problems together. The plot was mostly character-centric – Luke resolving some of his past issues, Dolly trying to forge her own future and the both of them trying to work out how they fit together and how they could both better themselves individually and as a couple, together.

Sweet but romantic with plenty of character-based plot and twists I found this a wonderful full length story and a great read. With loads of plot, a strong cast of secondary characters and a delightful small town feel this is an excellent story and one I really enjoyed.

Champagne knows as soon as he sees the ad online – a Boy ISO (in search of) a Strict Daddy – that something just clicked and was very, very right. He answers immediately, rushing to the home address planning on blistering the ass of a very reckless young man, only to come face to face with Stephen. But Stephen has a rocky past and isn’t in the lifestyle anymore, but Champ simply isn’t willing to take no for an answer and possibly lose the only man who can complete him.

This is a lovely, sexy and smoking hot full length story. I really enjoyed Stephen’s character in particular, the brief hints have from his past experience really helped me feel connected to him and a strong empathy for him being reluctant and burned. While Champ gets under Stephen’s skin (and into his pants!) fairly quickly I did like how they didn’t just jump immediately into the sack – as that wouldn’t have felt very realistic with Stephen’s reluctance and history.

I have to admit I haven’t read any of this author’s dragon books before this one (I’m not a massive paranormal fan and dragon’s don’t do a lot for me usually), but I actually enjoyed the slightly different aspect to the paranormal that this author gave the story. Things like Champ could hear the “singing” in Stephen’s head once they started connecting and bonding, or like how Champ could see the dreams Stephen had while sleeping – slightly unusual (for me, at least) but definitely paranormal elements to the story that I found interesting and kinda cool. There were also further hints throughout the story of Champ and his two best friends’ dragon “hoarde” and various magical elements that I felt added an interesting depth to the story.

Stephen’s flatmate, Marcus, and Champ’s two best friends also make a threesome in a sort of sub-plot that I felt helped round out the story well and made the book more than just about Stephen and Champ and their relationship and sexy escapades. I particularly liked how at a few points Champ felt the need to touch base with his two bff’s and just check that he was on the right path. This made him feel more human and relatable to me and I thought it was lovely to see this very slightly vulnerable side to him.

With plenty of hot sex, a few hints of BDSM elements and some complicated and excellent secondary characters this was a lovely long read and a multi-faceted story that I really enjoyed.

Just before Steven left, this Dom and sub officially got married, but they never got a honeymoon and now they need to rediscover how they fit together. Can Steven and Lawson regain what they’ve been missing for the last two years and reconnect for Christmas?

It might be Christmas-time, but Lawson is keeping as busy as he possibly can, volunteering at anything he can get his hands on. With his husband, Steven, working as an army field nurse through the holiday season Lawson desperately wants to keep the loneliness without his husband at bay. Despite being together for years and getting married shortly before Steven went on tour, the two years they’ve been apart feels like an age. When Steven comes home for good, can they rediscover each other and begin their “new” marriage together again?

Mildly kinky and full of loving and explicit sex, this is one heck of a steamy romance story to keep you turning the pages and thinking of decadent, cold Christmas evenings. With some spanking and mild BDSM (body piercings, toys and restraints) this is hot enough that I feel most erotica readers should find the bedroom antics satisfying – but not kinky enough to push the envelope or make many readers uncomfortable. Best of all, Steven and Lawson are both clearly and deeply in love with each other – the two year enforced separation making them burn for each other and making their reunion all the more sweet from their time apart.

While most of the first half of the story is the two men becoming *cough* acquainted *cough* with each other again, I was really pleased the second half of the book showed us a bit more of each man’s personality and let us see some of the intricacies of their relationship. I enjoyed that the author let us see more than just the sex to their personalities – things like them volunteering at the local community centre, shopping for groceries together and reconnecting through all the mundane, every-day aspects of living together that neither of them had needed to do for so long. It kept the story feeling real, grounded and believable to me. It helped me feel more connected to both Steven and Lawson and helped me see just how they could fit and work and love together in the “real world” and that made this story far more romantic, emotional and relatable to me.

With loads of steamy sex, a lovely and enjoyable romantic relationship and the joy of two people who adore each other finally being able to live happily and a normal life together this was a pleasure to read.

This time though Alex has been gone longer than ever before, and when he finally is able to return home he’s shocked to find Bruce all geared up and heading to work as a bartender in a local leather club. Confused and unsure, can Alex and Bruce reconnect and find their way back together?

I enjoyed this sexy short story. I immediately felt a lot of empathy for Alex, who seemed more than a little burned out by his undercover work. I was pleased he’d taken retirement and was considering his options and willing to keep an open mind and try different things to return properly home – body and mind. I was also glad that after the first phone call between Alex and Bruce it was pretty clear Bruce still dearly loved Alex, but that the strain of Alex’s job and the enforced separations and stress weighed heavily on their relationship. I loved how realistic and relatable this whole relationship and scenario was and was hooked from the first chapter.

The BDSM in this story is exceptionally mild – just a bit of rimming and light spanking – readers looking for something heavier on the kink side of things sexually should look at other stories by Sean Michael. There’s a strong undertone of the BDSM lifestyle but Alex and Bruce really are only just dipping their toe in, to see if certain parts of the lifestyle would help them let Alex shed his previous personas and fully come home. I enjoyed that most of the plot revolved around Bruce and Alex re-learning how they fit together as a couple and in their home life.

This struggle for Alex of not just physically coming home – but mentally, emotionally and spiritually as well – was something that really resonated with me and grabbed at my heart. It isn’t a traditional storyline that I truly feel like the author did an amazing job with this. I really felt for Alex and adored how patient but still strong Bruce was fielding all the various tics and pitfalls. I would have really enjoyed it had this story been longer – which is one of the deepest compliments you can give a book sometimes. I didn’t want to leave Bruce and Alex and was sad when the story wrapped up. I was certainly relieved that the men reconnected well together and clearly were fully committed both to each other and their marriage – so it was absolutely a happy ending, but I really enjoyed this story and was sad for it to draw to a close.

Steamy and sexy this is a lovely, emotional and well written short story that I greatly enjoyed.

But David is determined to hunt their attacker down and Jenson quickly realizes he wants to give David everything he can. In “Absinthe” Barthe and Rene have a complicated history together, but can circumstances finally sway in their favor before it’s too late?

I really enjoyed these two short stories. Sexy and fun they’re a lovely quick read with plenty of heat and just a dollop of humour to them. I really enjoyed the energy of Moonshine. I loved Jenson and his still – and adored how Jenson stuck to his roots and was proud of his heritage but wasn’t a hick or hillbilly. I enjoyed the sense of dichomy the story gave with Jenson knowing a lot about his lycanthropy and being a wolf and David being very new to it all. Even though David was a total rookie and Jenson helped him ease over those first few hurdles the two men felt very evenly matched. This was a “student and teacher” sort of thing but it was clear that they were equals and both had plenty to bring to their fledgling relationship. This was a great short story.

Absinthe is absolutely a stand-alone story but I enjoyed it a lot more since there are a few links between Moonshine and Absinthe so I definitely enjoyed it more reading the two together. Rene and Barthe have had a rocky time of things. When Barthe had told the much younger Rene to go out into the world, explore and live a little it had cost him a lot to offer his mate the freedom to grow up. When Rene had taken Barthe at his word and left – for years – Barthe had spent every moment regretting his actions. Even though I found this history between the two wolves to be difficult I was pleased this was all explained in a few pages right at the start of the story. The short length of the story meant we could see the ending.

Rene and Barthe have both certainly learned important lessons and the sex between them is smoking hot and slightly kinky (spankings and being bound – light BDSM mostly). Readers looking for a hot paranormal short story should find both these stories sexy and fun and enjoyable quick reads.

This short story was an absolute delight. It’s a reprint (this story can also be found in the anthology “Welcome To Love”) but good enough I’m pleased to have gotten it as a standalone as well. Drake is burned out and I feel really needs to find himself again. Scott is far more stable and after losing his lover a few years earlier to cancer is ready to at least try to open his heart back up again. I loved how the two men didn’t simply jump into bed with each other – but slowly edged their way together instead. Having not seen each other since high school, even though they knew each other at heart they’d both done a lot of growing and changing in the years since they’d been good friends; so it made sense they took a little time to feel their way out to one another.

The sex was deliciously hot and I adored the emotional connection that both men relished growing together. While Drake and Scott definitely weren’t shy about sharing their bodies or becoming steamily intimate it was the relief and rest Scott and his small farm gave Drake and the human connection Drake gave Scott which really made this relationship sing to me. The men connected well sexually – but they each gave the other something else that they really, really needed. This helped make the story so realistic and so wonderfully emotional and romantic to my eyes. This was deeper and more intimate/romantic than just hot sex, this was about friendship and need which blossomed wonderfully to love.

The author did an amazing job with these characters and the circumstances bringing them together. This was a lovely, heart-warming story and one I know I’ll enjoy rereading many times in the future. Recommended.

A number of years ago Finn and Jared broke up when Finn couldn’t turn down a job promotion which required he move to a different country. The two men were sad to go their separate ways but each agreed it was the best option for them both. But now Finn is back for good and determined he and Jared rekindle their Dom/sub relationship once again.

I enjoyed this seriously steamy short story. I was pleased that both Finn and Jared had the sizzle to their chemistry as it made their quick rekindling a lot more believable given their past history. While the two men fall pretty quickly back into bed with each other I thought it was quite clear each had grown and learned during the six year lag in their relationship and I couldn’t help but feel it likely made their new, fresh start all the better.

Finn and Jared both enjoy a bit of kink and while a bad experience had kept Jared out of the lifestyle for a while they both eagerly jumped right back in. Readers used to erotic romances shouldn’t find anything too hardcore in this lovely short story – a bit of bondage and restraints, some spanking and toys – but overall I found there was just enough spice and heat to keep the rekindling of Jared and Finn finding each other again to go bubbling along nicely.

Readers looking for a happy, slightly Christmassy and very lightly kinky read should find this ticks all the boxes. I was really pleased both Finn and Jared had a good chemistry and a solid shared history which made their quickness reconnecting not totally feel like insta-lust. While there wasn’t much plot I personally found that the growing and reconnecting between the two men acted as a solid vehicle to drive the sexual connection and bedroom antics.

Sexy and fun, this was a good quick read and one I enjoyed.

I found the small cast of secondary characters both amusing and really well drawn. I feel the small town setting really worked well and offered a host of other equally enjoyable stories. This is an author I’ve read before – and enjoyed just as much as I did this go around. Indeed, it’s rapidly getting to the stage where I’ll likely give anything by this author a try because I’m almost guaranteed a humorous and enjoyable, quick read with characters I can get addicted to and a good, solid place with the plotting and romance.

I enjoyed the push-pull between Zane and Grant and felt their relationship grew along logical and believable lines. I particularly loved the chemistry between the two men and felt that the author did an amazing job letting both men be themselves while also slowly knitting them together to form the family they will become. I was thrilled when the eventual about-face that Grant needed to realise and I thought the author made it feel natural and relatable – and not a dramatic storm-in-a-teacup or blown out into an unnecessarily dramatic climax.

Fun and sexy, with two awesome heroes and a few solid secondary characters this is a great, quick read.
