Mystic’s All Night Café—where the city’s supernatural world meet for the best coffee, tea, and pastries.

Blind for the past five years, Tessa Dubois has become a recluse, comfortable only in the home she shares with her son. When he gives her to a slave trader to pay a debt she had no idea about, she finds herself in a dark, menacing world with no one to ground her.

Jefferson Carstairs had just about given up finding his destined mate. Then he joins the council in raiding an abandoned airport warehouse where a solitary figure on the makeshift stage calls to both his man and wolf.

Will Tessa be able to survive outside the comfortable environment of her own home? Will Jefferson and his army of shifters be able to find Sonny and the rest of the traffickers? Can Tessa allow herself to love after so many years alone?

Tessa had been shocked when she accidently overheard her son, Theo, selling her to a stranger to help cover the debt he owed. Tessa was blind, but determined to not let her new situation break her down. When the auction of kidnapped women had ended in bloodshed, Tessa is surprised when she meets Jefferson. There is an instant calm and sexual chemistry between them. Will they each be able to fit comfortably into the new life they’ve discovered?

Grab a lovely large drink, settle down somewhere comfortable and disconnect your brain. I found this to be a deliciously sexy paranormal story with a very fast-moving pace and a fairly light hand to the story telling. Readers looking for a convoluted plot or a whole bunch of realism probably won’t find this fun story quite to their tastes, but rather this is a steamy “insta-lust” sort of quick read that is an enjoyable way to pass a lazy weekend.

While this is the third book in the “Mystic’s All Night Café” series it can absolutely be read as a stand alone. Tessa’s character and situation is explained right off at the start, and after the trafficking auction goes pear shaped Jefferson’s character is also introduced. Indeed the Café itself doesn’t appear until properly within the story – so readers who haven’t read the previous two installments don’t have to worry at all. I really feel they’ll be able to grasp the story from the first page.

There were a number of sub-plots swirling around this short story and I enjoyed some of the interesting developments shown about how the supernatural world works. There was also some fairly standard conflict between Tessa and another shifter who felt she was better suited to Jackson, as well as the original plotline about Tessa and her son – so I felt there was plenty going on in the story, especially when you added all the chemistry and sexy shenanigans between Tessa and Jefferson.

Fun, sexy and quick paced, this was a lovely short story and I found it an enjoyable read.

After a near fatal rodeo injury, Asher McCard is determined he’ll ride again and compete, especially now he’s decided that cowboys are modern day gladiators. His fiancée, Charlotte, doesn’t agree and she breaks their long engagement. As he gets back in the saddle, Asher is out to win back Charlotte as well as his manhood. When he learns she’s carrying his child, it’s not enough to change his mind but when the first rodeo of the season proves deadly for another rider, it’s a game changer for Asher. His priorities shift toward marriage and family if Charlotte will agree.

He wants her, but she’s afraid to give him a second chance.

This is the first book I’ve read by Ms Sontheimer Murphy and I’m glad I did. I got right into this story and the writing flowed well. I finished this in an afternoon and it was time well spent.

Asher loves being a rodeo rider and he’s determined to be great again. Charlotte, his ex-fiancée, isn’t sure she’s willing to be with a man who puts his life in danger. I had to know what would happen next for this couple. I liked their stubbornness because it was so realistic. I could identify with both characters.

If you’re looking for a sexy afternoon read, then this is the one you should try.

When he’s not putting out fires with New York’s bravest, Jake Cross performs as Bree Encroute, a drag queen in a Hell’s Kitchen revue. He keeps his two worlds separate by design, yet is having a hard time separating himself from Brad.

After walking away from the homophobia at his old firehouse, Brad Talbott is finally free to be himself … and in search of a house where he’ll fit in. But no matter how many floater shifts he works, he keeps coming back to Jake.

For months, Jake and Brad’s arrangement has been purely physical. But as spring gives way to summer, the two men start to bare themselves to each other in new ways.

Jake and Brad hit it off almost instantly but as fire fighters they each have very busy professional lives and at first neither are keen to give up much of their busy private time either. But as their hook ups become more meaningful and they each start to share more of more of their private selves things begin to get more complicated. Can they help each other create something amazing together?

I found this to be a really interesting and emotional read. I was a little surprised that the storyline jumped around a bit – particularly at the start. More than a few times I had to stop, go back and reread a few pages because I hadn’t understood something properly. This somewhat choppy style of writing made it hard to be to follow the story in a few places, but I really felt this evened out toward the middle and end of the story so I was quite glad to have grasped it all.

I adored both Jake and Brad’s characters though and really felt their connection and the romance blossoming between them. I empathized strongly with Jake – and recovering from his world turning upside down after having people he loved and trusted turn their backs when he came out. I also greatly enjoyed the patience and love Brad showed Jake as they each tried to build something together. This was a really emotional and strongly written story I liked and feel it would be a lovely, quick and satisfying read for many who enjoy a realistic sort of story.

With two interesting, vibrant and realistic characters really shining through the story Jake and Brad made this a lovely and enjoyable read. There was a dash of colour and fun with Jake’s side hustle as a drag queen and enough tender emotions as the two men grew closer and learned to trust themselves and each other to really make this a delightful story. I’d definitely be willing to try more by this author.

Alice plans to spend the holidays in a tropical paradise. But her car breaks down en route and she seeks haven in a quaint local hotel.

Trapped forever in his writing room, the ghost formerly known as Clayton Grayson wants only to finish his last novel. His typewriter is still sitting on his desk, a stack of blank white paper beside it.

Alice is the first person who can see anything Clayton Grayson attempts to type. If he’s going to finish his book, he needs to convince her to stay long enough to help him.

The more Alice learns about the author the more she is drawn to him. And as he works with Alice, Clayton realizes he wants more than one last book.

Some stories demand to be told.

The world building was quite well done. In my experience, this can be something that’s overlooked in erotic fiction, so I was thrilled to have such clear descriptions not only of the inn that Alice was reluctantly staying in but of the habits of the people who worked there and how the rumours that the building was haunted affected how guests and employees interacted with certain rooms. Knowing all of this information was critical for understanding later scenes, so I was glad to see how much attention was paid to it.

I would have liked to see more character development in this tale, especially when it came to Clayton. For example, I wish he’d gone into deeper detail about what his life was like when he was alive and how he died. They both seemed to be such important parts of his identity that I was surprised they weren’t explored in depth. This was the only thing holding me back from giving a five-star rating.

The chemistry between Clayton and Alice was perfect. Not only did they have a great deal in common as far as their interests and values went, but their personalities also complemented each other nicely as well. He seemed to be a little more extroverted than she was, and she seemed a bit more diligent than he’d been when he was alive. Their strengths brought out the best in each other as they got to know one another better. I loved these characters as individuals and as a couple.

Ghost Writer was a satisfying read that made me yearn for a sequel.

Katya: Some people call me an ice princess. There’s a reason for that. I survived the massacre of my entire family. When the Kotov Bratva took me in, I swore I’d do anything for my daughter and my new family. Aleksander is off-limits. He’s also relentless, persuasive, and addictive. I lean into his touches and kisses even though I should be staying away. I’m a survivor. I don’t just open up my heart to anyone but with Aleksander it’s easy. If being with him is so wrong, then why does it feel so right?

Aleksander: I know Katya Kotov inside and out. Under all that ice, lies a passionate and fiery woman I can’t wait to own and possess. I waited, hoping she’d find a better man, a decent man to settle with. But I’m not that generous. I’m a selfish and possessive bastard. Katya’s mine to tame and I’d kill anyone that gets in the way.

A dark, gritty story of love and survival.

I’ve read a few books by Winter Sloane but this was by far the darkest. I knew it would be, being it’s a mafia romance and it didn’t disappoint in the darkness aspect, but it also succeeded in the romance aspect as well. The writing flowed well, with a few errors, but it’s nothing that took away from my enjoyment of the story.

Katya has been wounded by life and the family. I understood her need to be icy to Aleks. She’s trying to stay sane while she’s a survivor. She’s strong and gritty, which is what I liked the best about her. Then there’s Aleks. He’s pushy, alpha and relentless…hence the title. I liked how he instantly took care of her and refused to let her get away.

If you’re looking for a dark story with a lot of romance and intrigue, then this is the book for you. Check it out now!

Christmas is coming and Jordan Potter has no idea what to get the man who has more money than many small countries, and claims he wants nothing for Christmas. With his quilt business growing and still too shy to hire help, Jordan knows he is neglecting his man. When Mac starts disappearing for hours at a time, Jordan wonders if his man is cheating on him.

For Mac Carlyle, Christmas is just another day on the calendar. When he sees Christmas is important to Jordan, he wants to make their first holiday as a couple special. He just doesn’t have a clue how, so he goes to the woman who knows his man best, Nana Georgia who makes an outrageous suggestion.

Is Mac cheating? Can Jordan come up with the perfect Christmas gift for his man? Will Mac finish Jordan’s gift in time?

Comfort food in the form of a short story!

I haven’t been feeling great and unfortunately my down time meant I needed things to do. Why not read? I did and this is one of the first things I picked up to read. I’m so glad I did. Not only was this a cute story, but it made me feel better. Truly.

Mac and Jordan are just plain cute together. They’ve been together a while and are now engaged. They want to get married but aren’t in a hurry. That’s okay. They’re still crazy about each other and it shows on every page. It’s also Christmas and they want to make it special.

I loved how each character dealt with the concept of a Christmas gift with conditions, among them only spending $50 per person. Jordan is a quilter and he makes them for a living. Mac isn’t a quilter at all. I loved the determination in each man to make their gift perfect – and yes, there is a Christmas quilt in this story. I won’t give away any spoilers. There is heat and heart in this little story, too. The angst is high, but that’s what works for the story.

If you’re looking for comfort food in the form of a short story, then this is the one for you. Recommended.

He was supposed to keep his hands off the boss’s daughter, but Lemon calls to him. Not only does he want to protect her, but he also wants to keep her all to himself. Her innocence belongs to him and him alone.

Nate worries if the truth of his identity will finally come out. If it does, he’ll simply make sure she never knows the truth.

Have the cursed houses struck again?

They shouldn’t be together, but what’s to say that’s a bad thing? Maybe it’s exactly the best thing ever.

I liked this book because it was a great afternoon read. It had lots of steam and chemistry between the characters and pulled me right in.

Lemon has many issues, including men issues. She knows she’s not the stereotypical beautiful woman, but she’s happy making clothes and doing her thing. I liked her confidence and how she interacted with Nate. She gave him a run for his money and he did the same for her. He helped her see she wasn’t just one thing, but many. I liked their scenes together because the heat was off the charts.

This is a solid hot read and good for passing an afternoon. If you’re looking for something hot, with angst and some mystery, then this might be the one you’re looking for. Try it!

Second chance romance? Count me in!

I picked up this story because I love a good second chance romance. This one delivered in a big way. I liked the writing and will happily look for more books by the author.

Dylan and Grace have great chemistry. They’re fun together and I liked seeing them work out their issues. She’s flighty for a good reason and he’s desperate to get her back. I loved that they worked together as doctors, too. It added a nice twist to the story.

He’s a hot firefighter…

Between the demands of his job and his own work ethic, it takes a lot to get Lieutenant Mike Devierse to loosen up and relax. One woman managed it, and Kat’s at his firehouse’s Thanksgiving dinner.

She’s a beautiful masseuse…

In Kat Kominsky’s work at a spa, all the people she meets and massages tend to blur together. There are some standouts, though, and she’s excited to see Mike outside a professional capacity.

As Kat and Mike grow closer, their time together is right out of a fantasy. But will they be able to handle the moment when the reality of each other’s jobs sets in?

Chelle de Notte’s I Don’t Want to Wake Up is a fun and steamy read – a perfect choice for those looking for something quick that’s easy to finish in one sitting. Our hero, Mike fights fires on a daily basis in his job. But will he be able to handle the heat that comes with the budding relationship he has with beautiful masseuse Kat? Only time will tell…

One thing I appreciated in this book (and other romance books of this length) is when the author sets up some off-page event that establishes the relationship and the chemistry. Books that are less than 100 pages often suffer when there’s too much on-page relationship establishment as it takes away time from the action and the meat of the story. This book thankfully avoided that issue. I’m happy to say that there was minimal downtime between the start of the book and when Mike and Kat give into their feelings. Once they stopped fighting it and gave into the tension, it was so much fun to read. I think I have a thing for firefighter romances now after reading this book, but I’m not mad about it.

While Mike’s job as a firefighter does play a big role in this book, I was quite pleasantly surprised to see how the author incorporated Kat’s job as a masseuse into their relationship (and some of the conflicts therein). As Mike puts it, Kat’s job involves “rubbing down scantily clad people of all sexes for hours at a time.” This unsurprisingly inspires some feelings of jealousy in Mike, and while it’s not the first thing you would think of after reading the blurb it worked well with the rest of the plot. I was especially amused when Kat and Mike had conversations with their coworkers (Jason and Kelsey respectively) about how to deal with the other person’s job and the worries that come with it; I think Jason and Kelsey were quite amused too.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I hope readers will enjoy Chelle de Notte’s I Don’t Want to Wake Up as much as I did. If you’re looking for a short and entertaining erotic romance read that’s complete with a happily ever after ending, you’ve come to the right place. I look forward to checking out the other Romance on the Go titles in the future!
