The fight scenes added extra teeth snarling adventure to the plot and made the whole werewolf scenerio true to werewolf tradition.The author did a great job in incorporating the suspense and answering any questions that arose. I also liked how the author developed Sophia from a shy, fat nerd with a crush and transformed her to be a more dominate and outspoken female. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next installment.

Three, the characters, even as clichéd as they were, are truly likeable. Alexandra is sweet, yet brazen, with issues like any other person. Andrew (Mr.Buff) is sex on legs and anyone’s dream man. He’s rich, powerful, dominant and sexy. He had me sighing through the whole thing. Finally, I feel that Alexandra’s fun and quirky friend, Nina, deserves a special mention, as the story wouldn’t have been the same without her.

Sometimes cliché is good and this is one of those instances. Mr. Buff is a quick, fun read for any time.

The banter back and forth between the main characters, the sex scenes and overall presentation of the book was great. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author. Her ability to pique your interest in the story is considerable and as a serial, it let you see the growth of the characters and the fear that they may not be able to be together.

She takes the time to learn about this new world, and learn from her companions. She is loyal to her new friends and inspires loyalty in all of them as well.

The world building in this book is well done. It was never overwhelming with descriptions as to be boring but it was still conveyed well enough that I could clearly picture it in my head. The villagers and gypsies that the group encounters, the guards and the evil ones intent on stopping her and the different species of people and animals you get to see keep your attention. The presence and use of magic in the book, and Ellie’s struggle to learn it quickly, is a lot of fun. There is also enough mystery left throughout the story that you are just never quite sure who you can trust and who you can’t.

One person that you know from the beginning that can’t be trusted is Morfan, the evil ruler that took the throne from Ellie’s parents. He is very well written. Creepy and clearly evil. Amusingly enough though, throughout the entire book I kept picturing him looking like Jafar from Disney’s Aladdin. There are a few chilling background details of him along with creepy encounters, so it offset my image of Jafar quite handily.

I was very surprised by the ending. I knew it had to be coming up because of the page numbers, but I thought it ended very abruptly. I actually had no idea it was the end until I tried to turn the page and realized there wasn’t any more pages. I felt like there could have been more of a lead-up to let you know it was coming. That should give you an idea of how engrossed in the book I was though. It did leave an open ending for the sequel, so you don’t get resolution of anything at the end, but I was very glad when I noticed it was book one in a series.

A fantastic debut novel from Ms. Newman! If you’re willing to be carried away to another land for a few hours, meet some fun and interesting new characters along with some talking, giant jaguars (among other things) and get caught up in a new battle of good versus evil, then you are in for a treat with Drive Back The Darkness. What an awesome book ! This series gets even more interesting as the author ventures deeper into Norse mythology. After reading the first book, Malice Striker, I couldn’t help contemplating what kind of wondorous journey Ms. Carlo would take the readers on in the next book. Well, I just want to unequivocally state that she did not disappoint with Konnal’s story. It was wonderfully romantic as well as overflowing with action and suspense. And as expected, the heat level was hot enough to scorch your panties off.

Death Blow…a name that strikes fear in the hearts of mortal men. But not even the fierce viking can intimidate a woman who knows she isn’t long for this world. Konall -aka Death Blow- gets more than he anticipated when he buys himself a bride from King Kenneth. As with his brothers wife, his betrothed is goddess born also. Coincidence? I think not. I strongly suspect that sly old King Kenneth has some kind of trick up his sleeve with these arranged marriages.

Nyssa feels neither fear nor lust for any man. Well, she may have lusted after Konnal after she and her brother , who has been transformed into a mountain lion , save his life. But Nyssa has been cursed to a fiery death by a vengeful god. Only a very special man can save her. Konall proves that he is the perfect man for Nyssa when he ingeniously frees her from her curse. Even freed from the curse Nyssa is reluctant to wed Konnal. She believes she has good reasons, but I don’t do spoilers , so you’ll have to read the book to find out the rest of her secrets. I will say that she is every bit as stubborn as Konnal and it sets the stage for a lot of tension both in and out of bed.

I loved this story and can’t wait for Draddor to find his true love in the next book. How could his journey be any more exciting and romantic than his brothers. Something tells me that it just might be. Hopefully, we will discover what happened to Nyssa’s brother, Mus/Ciarran, and meet the lucky lady who will break his curse. Hint…Hint. I’m giving this wonderful gem of a story five flying stars.

The story starts off with a bang. Brokk has just kidnapped the girls and is trying to discover which one of them is the King’s daughter. But it was when she met Brokk’s arrogant demand that they marry with a few of her own demands that I got my first glimpse of her true spirit. Yet, it was the Brokk’s arrogant demeaner that got me curious about what kind of hero the writer had created.

The writer created exciting characters that were vibrant and easy to like. Now, I’ll admit that my first impression of Brokk was all wrong. I thought he was one of those blood thirsty beserkers who was going to break my beloved heroine’s heart. How wrong I was. Brokk was the quintessential alpha hero – strong but caring. While Skatha was the perfect heroine – spunky yet vulnerable. They were perfect for each other in every way. Even in their honesty. After a rocky start to their relationship , Brokk and Skatha were truthful with each other. He told her the truth about the events that brought them together. And despite the reality that it could mean the end for her , Skatha revealed everything about herself. Ms.Carlo created the perfect couple – each with their own physical imperfections and insecurities.

This muti-layered story is very character driven. But the bones of every good romance novel is the HEAT. Ms. Carlo definitely brought the heat with this steamy story. The love scenes were scorching hot and OMG! delicious. The love between the two leads was wildly romantic and they admitted their love early on in the story. Brokk stole a piece of my heart with his unconditional acceptance of Skatha. Even though he over-reacted a bit in his need to protect her it only endeared him to this reader even more.

And now we come to the climactic ending that even I never saw coming. The true villain was revealed with a flurry of surprising twists and turns. I sure didn’t see that one coming. Even more welcome was the bit of humor between Brokk and the Abbess at the end.

Bottom line: Malice Striker is a top notch historical romance . This story grabbed my attention and kept me flipping those pages well into the night. I just couldn’t put it down until the end and it still left me wanting more. Just like that delicious Oreo cookie. LOL! Seriously… it’s a great start to the new series. If you’re looking for a steamy story to loose yourself in for a few hours with characters that you can’t forget ….then this is the book for you. I’m giving Malice Striker five flying stars and my highest recommendation.

The characters in this book were engaging and the chemistry between Callisto and Pietro was sizzling hot. I enjoyed their interaction and being a demon, Pietro was definitely an alpha male. I loved how Pietro would demand but Callisto would turn the tables on him and show him that she could also make demands. It was nice to see that even though he was a demon he had a softer side, more human than demon. The author made the characters bond on a deeper emotional level by having them share stories of their unhappy childhood which appealed to this reader because then the story wasn’t just about sex, and there was lots of hot sex in this story. Seven Sins Inn: Pietro and Callisto was a definite page turner and one I would recommend to anyone looking for an interesting and sizzling tale. This is the first book that I have read by Selena Illyria and I look forward to reading more from her.

You wouldn’t think a man that’s considered a playboy, jumping around from woman to woman, never having a serious relationship, would be a good father, would you? The hero in The Playboy’s Baby, Dillon, learns a few shocking secrets that will be changing his life. He’s suddenly face to face with a woman from his past- Emma. Someone he’d never thought he’d see back in their hometown, but yet, there she was. The way Dillon handles this surprise completely amazed me. He took it well, doing everything he possibly can to make things right. He’s got a lot of things to learn, though, as having a baby around isn’t going to be easy. Most of the town thins he’s a spoiled rich boy, but as readers go further into the story, we are allowed a peel back to Dillon’s inner feelings, and he’s not all that bad. In fact, he’s pretty respectable and admirable.

Emma has had plenty of losses in her life. The only thing close to a family she has is her niece, so going to find Dillon wasn’t the easiest thing for her, but she puts her niece first to make sure she has a father in her life. Dealing with the recent loss of her sister, the only other person that can understand the depth of that loss is Dillon. Two very different people that hold back are about to learn what it is to find true love, despite the ghosts from the past.

This story had all the right things for me.  It was emotional, heartwarming, engaging, and well done. I read it in just a few hours! The author’s voice is fresh and enjoyable, and I found myself emotionally attached to Emma and Dillon, rooting for them the whole way. I wanted their happily ever after to be wonderful, and it most definitely was. There are plenty of hurdles and conflict along the way, but that only makes the great ending more desirable.

Sam is the golden boy, blond and tanned and sinfully gorgeous, while Nate is dark haired, and delicious. But both are determined to keep the lovely brunette that has them on edge.

I enjoyed the ‘will she or won’t she’ part of this story, and Ms. Cahill has given us characters that we want to see more of. This one is hot and the emotions expressed by all three are delightful. I enjoyed watching as this ‘no strings’ relationship got all three characters tied up in knots. One warning with this one-turn the air conditioner on high and have plenty of cold drinks on hand.
