Fitted with the child murdering witch’s memories and a curse, Daisy has to sink or swim in waters no normal human girl was ever prepared for.

Welcome to a world of Johnny Cash look alike bounty hunters (Nathan), vampires with issues (Polidori), witches with hidden libraries and two bosses who have more secrets than anyone should have a right to. Oh, and Dave-her cop friend from her childhood. He’s just well…Dave. Insert family drama and a near fatal cookie making episode and you have a novel that will keep you hiding under the covers with a flash light until you’re done.

Daisy has a limited time to solve the curse and she will need all the resources a girl can get. It’s learn quick or die trying and in between she has to pass her exams and not lose her soul. Life can be complicated. So is dating one of your study partners that may or may not be a demon. What can you do?

Just like the second book, I was snared immediately with the voice of the book, the immense awesomeness of the characters and am now clamoring for another. Now please. CL Bledsoe has the world building down pat and people who practically breathe (or in case of the undead, not so much) right off the page. If you like urban fantasy books like Kim Harrison or the Anita Blake series, you’ll fall in love with Daisy and her crew.

This series has won my heart and I want another one soon…

The homeless brigade of supernatural beings and the vampire legend of Polidori was a great story element and I loved the way the historical figure was represented. Finding out who was stalking him and the courage Daisy exhibits when she goes in defense of the vampire was truly great.

I was hooked with the voice of this book from the start. It didn’t matter to me that it was the second book and I hadn’t read the first one. It was clear and touched on necessary topics that led me right into the story and into the finer points of the plot and the tensions going on at the funeral home. The world building was stellar and I sucked up every detail. This is a book I wanted to sneak away on breaks and read. That I stayed up way too late and had a twitch when it was over, making me reach for the phone to request the first book in the series. Like now…right freaking now. Lol.

Now there isn’t much in the way of romance, but there is some sexual tension going on with Nathan. Here is me hoping in future books there will be some bed hopping chemistry but I loved it just the same. The snark and interaction with the characters, paired with the supernatural elements and the surprise twist with the serial killer was a jaw dropper and I started to snort through my hand in the middle of the break room. Awesome CL. I love your twisted mind. You are an inspiration to me and I bow down before you.

Oh-and I want many, many more books with Daisy. She kicks some monster butt.

I really enjoyed this lovely paranormal story.

I’d say that this book was one of the better developed novellas that I’ve read lately. The author definitely did a great job with that part. She gave me a good feel for the characters, their fears, frustrations, and feelings for each other. Dax had a strong drive to protect his mate and his people, while Mellissa was obviously a nurturer. She started out in a timid direction but I could soon see her potential for growth. It turned out that she was strong enough to put her foot down when she needed to. She took care of Dax and tried to protect him, which was actually funny because he’s a powerful bear shifter.

Much to my delight it had sexy times aplenty. I’ll admit that was real nice, but it didn’t dominate the storyline at all. Meaning that this one had a strong storyline to go with the hot love scenes. It was fast paced and had excellent grammar. It also had a bit of suspense and a fairly climactic ending when the bad guys, who were shifter mountain lions, showed up to wreak their havoc. Lastly, I felt that it was romantic and sweet, a requisite for most of the books that I enjoy as much as I did this one.

I enjoyed this book immensely. I’m interested in finding out if it’s part of a series. That would be just fine with this happy reader.

You know Isame is different because she heals quickly, too quickly to be human. However, she certainly didn’t expect to get kidnapped by the King’s Warriors. She’s going to get to see different lands and travel great distances but it won’t be as a free woman.

She tries to gain sympathy from her captors by telling them about her life. She gets mostly silence but she keeps trying. Eventually, one of them talks to her and tells her a little about their lives. As they keep travelling the relationship between them begins to change and they start to become friends instead of fiends. There is a bad apple in the bunch, though.

You can tell from what’s said and what’s not that the King wants her for nefarious purposes. The Warriors are not really comfortable with that. If that’s not enough danger in her life, the bad Warrior has been killed for attacking her, but he returns. The reason he returns has to do with her and he’s coming after her.

There’s plenty of excitement while the Warriors and Isame try to find the gypsy woman who wouldn’t share her fortune with her, the bad Warrior is after her, and the King is beginning to wonder why it’s taking them so long to get home.

The ending is magnificent and totally unexpected. This is the first in a new series so you know there will be more to come and I, for one, am glad to see that. There’s a romance blooming and I’m hoping it will be a happy ever after for both of them. Ms. Hubbard has me hooked.

I really liked the setting and theme of this story: the workings of a busy station and the sometimes bias women face in what’s usually a male profession. I felt it was well handled and portrayed by the author.

What I would have liked is more of a slow build up to Cindy and Dave’s encounters. Things happen quickly between them and I believe some sexual tension brewing gradually would have added to the heat of some very sexy scenes.

Besides that it’s a realistic read, fact paced, and if you like hunky firefighters and some heat, this might be a good book for you.

Plus, she does a good job filling in even more details as the story progresses.

I liked the setting of this story which gave me a feel of the Scottish Highlands and the inn where the hero takes the injured boy.

While it’s a sexy read, there’s a slow build-up to the actual sex scenes. Considering these two people were strangers, these scenes came across as old lovers reuniting and making up for lost time which I think added to the enjoyment of the story. And of course there’s the paranormal element that was really the icing on the cake.

If you like historicals with a dose of the supernatural, I think this might be a good pick for you.

However, there was plenty of sizzle leading up to the first sex scene, making it well worth the wait.

The secondary characters were great too and didn’t seem thrown in there just for the sake of the plot. All the shape shifters were fun to read about. And there’s not just one or two of them, but many.

If you like shape shifters and lots of sexual tension, I think this might be a perfect book for you.

Hefnd Hamarr (Vengeance Hammer) is what Dráddør calls his mighty weapon. The prospect of quenching his thirst for revenge is so close he can nearly taste his enemy’s blood, but it seems the gods have other plans. The disappointment in learning that his rival, Arnfinn, had been poisoned by his wife is fast but fleeting. Even though he was ordered to marry Arnfinn’s first born and claim Lathairn and all it’s lands, he is pleasantly surprised when his intended turns out to be quite comely with nice “titties” and a lovely “puss”. But his approval of her outward appearance turns bitter sweet when he learns she can’t speak. However, if Dráddør thinks he’s inherited a fortune in lands and holdings plus a dumb and mute wife, he has another thing coming. While Lathairn’s value certainly isn’t questionable, its state of disrepair and filth leaves a lot to be desired. Dráddør certainly has his work cut out for him. Riddled with secrets, lies, and misgivings, it’s going to take one hell of a man with a crap load of patience to pick through the rubble and restore Lathairn to its previous glory, which includes righting the wrongs committed against his new bride and her remaining family.

Vengeance Hammer is book three in Ms. Carlo’s Viking Vengeance series, and it left me wanting to read books one and two. The story opens with an instant hook for me: barbarian storms the castle, then whisks the helpless maiden off for a night of passion in his bed. Well, not quite like that, but close enough. While many readers might be appalled by that notion, it’s Dráddør’s tenderness and compassion while carrying out the required actions to stake his claim on Lathairn that had me instantly falling in love. Even though Xára is dumb, she’s certainly not stupid and she quickly discovers that Dráddør is not the brute she expected him to be. Don’t get me wrong, he’s stubborn and bossy—as I imagine most Viking warriors were. Taking his new wife’s virginity in front of a room full of witnesses, then hanging the bloodied sheets out for proof of his claim seems pretty darned cold-hearted—I guess they did things a bit differently back in those days—but his tenderness and thoughtfulness throughout the ordeal is surprising not only me, but to Xára as well. He has a level of compassion that I imagine was rare for his kind and it sets him above others, making him a perfect hero for Lathairn and all its inhabitants.

Seems that kindness runs in the males of his family, for when his brothers and their wives show up, I see a similar pattern in them—lucky girls. The passion between Xára and Dráddør is undeniable. While some of his pet names for various parts of Xára’s body might make some readers cringe with distaste, I found them endearing because they were used with tangible respect. Dráddør falls for Xára quick and fierce, and it has him reeling. Even though lingering secrets and lies threaten their newfound affection for each other, Dráddør handles himself admirably and certainly earned my respect. The secondary characters add depth and excitement to the story, without overshadowing the main stars. Overall, Ms. Carlo has penned an exciting and romantic tale that stole my heart and left me dreaming about my own Viking warrior.

Fierce barbarians, cunning maidens, a little bit of magic and plenty of mayhem, what else can you ask for in a fierce tale of love, war and honor? Ms. Carlo balances it all in Vengeance Hammer. I enjoyed every moment from beginning to end and look forward to reading more from this skilled author.

While they act on their attraction quickly they then slow down and take time to actually get to know each other and to soothe all of Morgan’s fears. This is a quick but very entertaining read. I found myself wanting to read the other books in this series since I enjoyed this one.

Seducer’s Moon is the ninth book in the Lunar Mates series from author Loribelle Hunt. I enjoy reading romance novels about werewolves and the often mysterious world they live in. So I found myself easily intrigued by the world that Ms. Hunt has created. Her wolves in this book were sexy, with all the right alpha attributes. Strong and fierce, possessive and protective.  Gage was possibly more brooding and secretive than he had to be with Marilyn. After all, he almost pushed her too far a couple of times.

The book had an exciting plot and some compelling characters that kept the story fast paced. There was a lot of romantic angst and drama. Uber Alpha Gage Rylon has been keeping a cool distance from his mate, Marilyn, for years. He has been hiding his identity from the world. The truth will bring danger to his mate, and he felt it wasn’t safe, so he pushed her away until the time was right. Now it is time for all to be revealed and he is determined to claim his mate. The problem is that Marilyn has always known that they were mates, and his rejection was a hurt that cut deep. Then Gideon, the twin brother that he has been hiding, shows up to take his back in a coming fight. It seems that he is also Marilyn’s mate. In this world that Ms. Hunt has created for the readers, twin wolf brothers always share a mate. So there it is, the secrets are deep and the revelations keep on coming. The author threw quite a lot of danger into the plot, and a crisis that brings these three lovers together. Hunt gave the readers not one dull moment in this story. She brought some twists into the plot, changing the series up a bit and opening the way to some new books, that I am anxious to read.

I loved each character in this book. Ms. Hunt did a fabulous job of bringing each one to life in a different way. Gage had that wonderful alpha arrogance thing going on for him. But the author did good by giving him a tender and romantic side that is bound to endear him to the reader, as well. I certainly got all sweet on him, when it was revealed how he’d been giving Marilyn those gifts on her birthday for all those years. So even though he had done some things that weren’t nice, he had never forgotten that she was meant for him. Still, he almost let it go for too long, and he has some explaining to do when his deep dark secrets start to surface. I have to say that Marilyn was a perfect match for the alpha leader with a destiny to fulfill. She was a tough cookie, who stood up for herself without being shrill or foolish. She had been hurt by Gage, confused by his indifference, and she was capable of walking away from it all. Then Gideon came to town, and he was so different from his big brother. He and Marilyn had the same chemistry, and they hit it off from their first meeting. Even so, there was some tense scenes between them all. Gage has been keeping things from both of them. Now, no secrets are kept hidden and they get into it a few times. It takes a minute for everything to work out between them. More wonderful and exciting scenes for the reader. The plot calls for a menage and that is exactly what the reader gives us. This book has scorching hot love scenes, a menage with some anal play and some BDSM. It was so lovely to read. *Grin*

This book had a lot of romantic heat, a riveting suspense and the kind of dramatic heartache that I love to read. The story was written perfectly and it all came together in a good way. I enjoyed every page as the story swiftly flew by. I really got into the story and the characters so that I was finished reading in just a few hours. I couldn’t put it down. I would happily recommend this book to every reader.
