It seems it’s not only her own future she has to decide but his as well. There’s just one problem with Roddy Boyd, and it’s up to her to decide their fate. Does she want to make that decision?

Ginny had always been intrigued about the Dower house of Lemachard. She adored hearing stories about the various ancestors who had lived there at different times and while she was thrilled when the house passed on to her it came as a surprise. Discovering the place has more than a few complications confuses Ginny, but she’s determined not to let go of the house she’s instantly fallen in love with.

I enjoyed this short story. While the plot wasn’t anything new or very different, I found it well written with a good, fast pace so it kept my attention and curiosity. I was eager to find how Ginny would deal with the strangeness of the situation she found herself in. I found it quite difficult in places to work out what was real, what was “memories” and what was paranormal aspects and I’m not sure if it was the fast pace of the story that made it confusing or the merging of past and present without any real indication of what was “real” and what was previous. While I could roll with it – my own curiosity was enough to keep me reading wanting answers – I could understand if this merging and back-and-forth is a bit too much for some other readers.

Despite the confusion I enjoyed the banter between Ginny and Roderick and found their chemistry believable even though it leaned heavily towards instant attraction. Their shared history and ancestry weighed heavily on my acceptance that their short courtship and attraction was believable and there were enough other plot elements swirling around in this short story that I don’t feel the author had many other options available.

I felt this story was more of a paranormal romance rather than strongly erotic story. Readers who like their romances adventurous and explicit might not find this aspect of the story satisfies. Personally, I enjoyed the fact Roderick and Ginny sorted out their history and the paranormal aspects first before becoming intimate.

With two interesting and very complicated characters and a lot of plot entwining them together this was a good, quick read.

Ezra had accidently walked in on his roommate getting a blowjob from his girlfriend. While the accident had completely shocked both men, Ezra couldn’t help but recall Malik had held his gaze for a few seconds longer than any straight man he knew. Ezra had so many questions about Malik and the sexual tension that thrummed between them, so during a drinking game just between the two of them he finally asks Malik and the answer that he was in completely open relationship both surprised and enticed Ezra. Can something come from the incredible tension between all three of them?

I found this to be an interesting and complex story that I really enjoyed. Through more than the first half of the story it was quite clear that Ezra and Malik were attracted to each other, and that Malik and his girlfriend Portia cared about each other but weren’t interested in being exclusive. And while I didn’t really get sold on there being the potential for anything long-term between Ezra and Portia there was clearly some chemistry and romantic tension between them as well. The complexities of these relationships and the way they were evolving was gripping and I was pleased the author kept the story revolved strongly around this. There was ample tension as well between Malik/Ezra as a “will they won’t they” sexual chemistry and I felt it worked really well and was unique enough I eagerly continued to turn the pages waiting to see what happened next.

There is only the one sex scene between the two men and while the quantity might not suit all erotica readers I feel the constantly sizzling chemistry makes up for a lot of that lack. And when Malik and Ezra finally do hit the sheets – man oh man it is well, well worth the wait. Smoking hot and extremely satisfying.

I thought this story was excellent in how realistic it was and also how modern I could see it being. This isn’t a cliched or stereotypical style of story and I found that so refreshing. While sure, I was lost a few times and I wondered a lot if this would become a M/M/F style of menage (it flirts closely with that – but ultimately doesn’t fulfil that in this story) this really is just a story about three people who are linked in various complicated ways trying to all sort out an equilibrium where they can all be happy and have their needs met. For that – and for the excellent writing unwinding all those complications, this is an excellent story.

Different and fresh, readers looking for a story somewhat outside the box should find this happy and satisfying. I enjoyed the slower pace and while I don’t feel this will be hot or explicit enough for all erotica readers I thoroughly enjoyed it.

As is usual for the Shifter world, once two shifters meet who are meant to be, it happens pretty quickly. In this though, Max is the one to keep things slow as he gives Caterina time to come to terms with her past. I loved that about him.

Plenty of characters and plenty of action to keep my attention, this was a fast-paced story that flowed from one scene to the next. Definitely recommended by me.

His anger crushes her already broken spirit, but she is determined to win Roman’s forgiveness and free him from their bond. Denied passion leads them down a path of magic and desire, while a devastating secret threatens eternal love.

Roman had waited two hundred years for his mate and when he met Mariah as a young child he was surprised just how open minded she was and how accepting of his lifestyle in the carnival. When Mariah had grown up though they were drawn apart and deeply hurt Roman had gone to ground, wanting to bury himself with his agony. But now Mariah is back and determined that her short last time in this world will be with the only man she has ever loved.

I found this to be an interesting and well structured paranormal and magic-based story. Roman and various Romany witches from his carnival had healed Mariah with magic and Roman himself was a vampire, so there was plenty of interesting elements to the paranormal aspect to this story. I also really enjoyed that while there was a long and complicated history between Mariah and Roman they didn’t simply glance at each other again and jump straight into bed. There was weight, anger and hurt on both sides from their history and the author gave them both plenty of time and pages to sorting this out.

The main draw-back to this story I feel was that the author probably tried to fit too many various sub-plots into this story for the short length. I really felt that had one or even two of the main elements been removed the story could have had far better tension and cohesion and not felt so crammed together to my mind. Roman’s vampire side, the Gypsy magic, the carnival and Mariah’s father’s history, along with Mariah growing up into a woman and her birth-mark – all these elements were good but they crowded together to the point where it felt a little to me like we were constantly jumping around from one to the other. There was also the repairing of Mariah and Roman’s relationship and their eventual intimate scenes. Had just a few of these elements been removed I really feel the author could have explored what remained in more depth and I feel the story would have been far richer for it.

That said, there is a mammoth amount of plot to this story and the pace is cracking. The pace doesn’t let up and I read the whole story in one sitting because I simply couldn’t stop. I was deeply intrigued as to how Mariah and Roman would patch up their relationship and Roman was lost and emotionally hurt enough that I really wanted to see him happy. While the sex between Roman and Mariah is explicit and intense it’s a fairly minor part along with the other plotlines and so I feel that readers looking for a primarily erotic story might not feel this is a strong enough element for their tastes. But readers looking for a paranormal story with plenty of plot should find this really suits their tastes.

A good and interesting read and one I enjoyed.

Instead, she makes her decision and stands firm on it, whilst at the same time, thinking through just exactly what it means. I loved that. The attraction is there immediately between her and Brenin and yet, once again, they go slow. I loved how phrases were worded, nearly as much as Ana did.

The pacing is perfect for the story, giving you both enough ‘slow time’ with some sexy moments between our two main characters, and also ‘fast time’ when action is the word of the day. Even characters you don’t know that well wriggle under your skin and make you feel.

This was an outstanding story with real depth and emotion in every word. It isn’t constant steam because that wouldn’t work. When they do though, beautiful!

Qyra and Josh had known each other off and on through college and while Josh is ecstatic to have the chance to try again, Qyra isn’t really sure if she’s ready to risk her health – or her heart.

This is a fun and humorous modern story complete with pandemic, grocery shopping from hell and people trying to navigate their way through a vastly different set of social rules. Covid Cozies (a Tumblr style dating app that made me laugh like a loon) and getting tested repeatedly is all on the table and yet somehow the author manages to make it both sensitive and hilarious.

I was a bit disappointed in how cliched, therefore, Qyra and Josh’s misunderstanding was back in uni. While I understand in the heat of the moment Qyra decided to sever ties with Josh I could see from a mile away the very normal sort of misunderstanding that had been created and it really disappointed me that she allowed it to keep them apart for years, instead of actually communicating with Josh and getting him to explain what the truth was about his situation. Had I not already been invested in Qyra and enjoying the author’s style of writing it’s possible I would have stopped reading the story here, which would have been a pity as the rest of the story really shone.

I loved that Qyra was a believable and realistic heroine – addicted to carbs during her monthly PMSing and feisty as anything. I loved that Josh was a really good guy and so very clearly interested in Qyra and reconnecting with her. The plot of the two of them reconnecting – Josh helping Qyra with learning to Zoom and updating her work website while they get to know each other again – is quite standard but I really enjoyed how the author peppered it with so many details of the current circumstances to make it really fresh and relatable to read about.

While there were a lot of laughs and plenty of steamy chemistry I could really see the reality in the world’s current situation making this a very “normal” sort of story going into the future. It was sweet and funny and while this time last year I’d have been pretty perplexed by all the pandemic aspects to the story it really resonated with what the world has been like these last nine months or so.

Readers looking for a fun, humorous and very current style of story should find this a good read.

This is an age-gap romance and one of the things that I love these series is that these tough bikers, who could do so much violence, are taking women who are in need of help. What surprised me was definitely the cover. It was not the normal silver fox/older guy covers that I have seen so far. Steel has been someone who takes in strays. Takes care of them. Tries to give them everything they need to be the best of themselves. I have been wondering for some time the women he would fall for.
