Ava’s life has always been difficult. Most of her kind, the spider shifters, were culled when she was a child. She grew up in foster care and had to work extra hard to get the job as Medical Examiner for Grenfell. Nobody trusts spiders. Now a body has turned up, filled with a toxin not on their system. Someone’s trying to frame her for murder, but who?

Agent Theodore ‘Theo’ Ross never thought he would see Ava St Clair again. His first love. The one he never got over. Now he needs to figure out if she’s capable of murder.

The tension is high. The long-denied need is palpable. They’re on borrowed time because the killer has Ava in their sights, and it could be anyone.

Hawk-shifter and Supernatural Police Force member, Theo, worked with a small team of shifters specifically tasked with helping to keep the paranormal world a secret from humans. As the team’s newbie Theo had been lumped mainly with paperwork since he joined up and so he’s itching to get out into the field and doing some real work. When a poisoning case hits the morgue, Theo’s ex-girlfriend – a spider-shifter – is under suspicion so even though he’s been hungering for a case of his own, Theo isn’t sure this is quite how he wanted to begin his new career. The fact the flames still burn brightly between Theo and Ava doesn’t make it easier on either of them.

I really enjoyed this paranormal mystery. I feel the history between Ava and Theo helped sell me a lot on the speed of their reconnecting, plus I just enjoyed how they both seemed to have fond – and maybe even slightly wistful – memories of each other. There wasn’t too much baggage or hurt feelings to overcome between them and that really helped clear the plot and resurgence of their relationship to me. There was plenty of conflict and tension in the plot with the murder mystery and trying to work out who wanted to set Ava up for a murder she didn’t commit, I didn’t feel there needed to be any conflict or baggage bleeding over from this into Ava and Theo reconnecting so I was really pleased with how the author handled this.

I admit I found Ava and Theo’s shifter aspects a bit of a stretch for my mind in the beginning. I don’t believe I’ve ever read a spider-shifter story before (romantic or not) and I know I’ve only read one or two hawk shifter stories in the past, they’re both pretty uncommon and it took me a little while to get into the groove of them. That said, once I did wrap my mind around it, I found the whole paranormal world and the experiences of Ava and Theo in particular to be really refreshing and a lovely, unique set of examples. In many ways the whole paranormal genre has come close (for me, personally) to reaching saturation point. So many plots and pairings and situations just feel so well-worn it’s hard sometimes to read “yet another hunt-the-killer-shifter” style of story, but having fun and relatable characters as well as such different shifter types really helped freshen this up for me and I really enjoyed it once I got into the swing of things.

With an intense and really enjoyable plot and a lovely steamy romance this is a great, quick read and an author I really enjoyed. I’ll be checking more stories in this series out. Recommended.

Joelle’s a mess. Nightmares about the end of the world keep her up at night, and lack of sleep has her losing job after job.

The only consistency to these dreams is the man she calls “The Watcher.” After another night of frustration, The Watcher arrives at her door, in the flesh. Luc, a demon Mare, is the source of all her problems.

Could he also be her salvation?

According to various researches, almost 5 percent patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) also suffer cialis discount cheap from eating disorder. Joelle has been dreaming for months about a man she calls “The Watcher” and the end of the world. It’s not until The Watcher ends up on her doorstep that she realizes not only is he – Luc – real but so too are her dreams.

I found this to be an interesting and fresh paranormal story. While the romance and blossoming lust between Luc and Joelle felt a little fast for me personally, this disappointment was more than made up for with the plotline itself which I found to be refreshingly different and full of good imagination. Luc is known as a Mare – a sub-set of demon who sends and controls nightmares. I found this and the plotline surrounding Joelle and her long-standing nightmares of the world literally burning around her and herself unable to help anyone really different and interesting.

I feel readers who enjoy paranormal-based stories, especially erotic and explicit ones, should find this a lovely breath of fresh air. While I felt the relationship growing between Joelle and Luc started out a little predictably around the half-way mark of the story there was a lovely twist which I feel really helped pick up the pace of the story – and Luc and Joelle’s relationship in particular.

There were quite a few balls up in the air plot-wise for the author to juggle and a part of me felt with the short length of the story and the different plots winding together this detracted time and space for the romance between Luc and Joelle. I also was a little conflicted in that Luc walked a pretty fine line between being a bad-boy or anti-hero style of character, and being something not actually really a hero at all. I found his feelings and attachment to Joelle believable, but when we discover some of the stuff he’s done in the past I had trouble with balancing his real nature as a demon and his actions in not caring about taking advantage and seriously mentally damaging vulnerable strangers. While I feel it’s crazy to expect a demon to be full of glitter and rainbows, I’m also not sure I’m comfortable reading about our “hero” victimizing strangers who aren’t able to defend or protect themselves. It was hard for me to push that aside and try to see Luc as a hero after that.

The second half of the story moved at a lovely fast pace – the plot and the romance really amped up and I feel if readers stick with the story until this stage they should definitely find both the plot and the relationship growing between Luc and Joelle really satisfying.

A little bit darker and edgier than the usual erotic romance stories I read, with a vivid paranormal world and some really refreshingly different aspects to the plot, this is a good story in a number of ways with a few flaws as well. I feel lots of readers should really enjoy it and particularly those looking for a fresh take on demon-based romance stories.

She stole his freedom… He captured her heart

Moriconthan “Moe” Tshevnoe finds an outlet for his anger when a brawl breaks out in a dusty barroom on Haedus Nine. He joins in the melee with enthusiasm, until he is taken prisoner by a beautiful Zetithian woman with electric blue eyes.
Forced into hiding by the cruel tyrant who covets her, Klara Tavock must do whatever she can to survive. Impressed by Moe’s pugilistic talent, she captures him, intending to sell him as a gladiator slave. But there’s something about this sexy Zetithian she simply can’t resist.

The attraction between them is powerful and undeniable, but when Moe and Klara join forces with the local rebels, they trigger a revolution that could destroy them all…

Dosage pattern for cute-n-tiny.com discount levitra The dosage for the patients and it should be taken before the planned sexual activity, jelly prevents the degradation of cyclic GMP. Kamagra pills are generic levitra no prescription , and function in the human body is to allow torsional or twisting motions each time a person moves his legs. Doctors would immediately order cialis prescribe some prescription that can aid manage these symptoms. Or set them free.

I am very biased. I adore the Zetithian heroes that Ms. Brooks has created. They’re so unique, fun and their ‘gifts’ are incredibly alluring. Moe, a/k/a Moriconthan Tshevnoe, the hero in Captive, continues the story many years after The Cat Star Chronicles ended. If readers remember the original series, Jack from Slave was an amazing heroine. Well, she’s Moe’s mom, so I guessed that this was going to be good. Yes, Ms. Brooks delivers another exciting, wonderful and well written romance adventure for fans to enjoy.

The author provided a story set in an unusual environment, a dying planet, but with a typical villainous megalomaniac with a twist. That twist isn’t revealed until almost the end, which is genius because it wasn’t just my own mouth hanging open in shock, it was all the characters in the book too. It turns out that the villain has ties to one of the characters in the previous series. It’s not a close connection, but enough to make the revelation even more fascinating. But, I digress. The romance is the focus.

Moe and Klara’s first meeting doesn’t go so well. In fact, it’s the heroine that starts off as being the enemy. Talk about kicking things off with a zing. The pace keeps up with the action; from running from Nedwuts, or from Pelarus, the creep who wanted Klara’s mom but is now after her, or trying to escape a palace filled with things to entice Klara to give up her resistance. The descriptions Ms. Brooks used to describe a dying planet were clear and depressing. As it should be, but it was made apparent even more by the revelations of one of the residents of the city – the planet used to have lots of water, vegetation and wildlife. What happened? Readers will find out when they read the book.

My favorite part of the romance between Moe and Klara is the progression of their bodies’ recognizing the other as mates. I grinned when first there was the hiss, then, oh my goodness, the purr. I adore that about the men of Zetith. It’s not just the purring though; the coup de grace is the effects of snard. It proves that Ms. Brooks has a brilliant mind. The idea of what it can do, and why it does what it does and the results of its effectiveness makes me wish something like that was real. Not chemically real but naturally real, like if guys like Moe and his kin actually existed – well, without the asteroid destroying their planet kind of thing.

Anyway, when Klara actually accepts and succumbs to the charms, purrs and sensual exposure of Moe’s snard, that was a pivotal moment of their romance. That is when Klara began to hope, to believe in Moe’s confidence and assurance that Haedus Nine could be saved, that they could leave the planet and she’d be able to explore and learn so many things about the bigger universe. But the biggest lesson that she could learn right then and there, is not only to trust in Moe but to believe in love and that Moe loved her and he could be counted on. She didn’t have to fight to survive alone. It’s those kinds of revelations that allowed Klara to grow, to think beyond the present and believe in a future. It sounds kind of deep for a sci-fi romance but that’s why this book gets high marks from me. It’s not just the hot times induced by the joys of snard that have me liking the novel, but the real emotion, trust, loyalty and sense of family that gave the story depth and strength. I mean, look at how Klara treats the Rackenspries. Ms. Brooks’ description of how they look at Klara melts my heart every time it’s mentioned in the story. It’s so sweet!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t congratulate Ms. Brooks on once again sprinkling Pop Culture references, this time from Dune, into the storytelling. I burst out in giggles when I realized what Moe was making reference to and I shook my head while chuckling. It was so cleverly done, I’m still grinning. Cheryl Brooks has a sense of humor I greatly appreciate and am so happy she shares it in her writing so we can enjoy it too.

Captive may be a short word for a title but the book itself is big; big in heart, hope, love, challenge, courage, adventure, and family. The writing is just as perfect as all the other books I’ve read by this author in the Cat Star series, and I can guarantee you that I’m a very happy reader. Captive is a must read book for reasons more numerous than what I’ve mentioned in this review. Moe and Klara’s romance is joining my keeper shelf along with the rest of Moe’s extended Zetithian family. I’m so happy!

I hate bullies. Gymnastics moms are the worst, too. So when a girl who looks no older than the kids with the overbearing mothers steps in to take over, I’m more than a little skeptical. Her name is, of all things, Kitty, and I’ve been watching her from a distance. I just didn’t realize she was a highly trained athlete in the body of a young, beguiling, innocent woman. Everything about her calls to my protective instincts. Especially when I find her putting herself in the hands of the very tormentor who broke my sister.

Among the most common factors deeprootsmag.org viagra soft which may be killing your erection include the following, to take action on: 1. Tobias is another fun installment of the series and once again, I was thoroughly entertained. This novelette is big on romance and light on angst or dark drama. It’s a bedroom/shower door wide open kind of heat level with “back door play, fluff lovin’ and a dominant, experienced older man showing the ropes to a very innocent but enthusiastic novice” type of story. Since there are SO many words I can’t put in reviews now, it’s very hard to avoid purple prose to describe the steamy hot antics that go along with this genre. Rest assured, Ms. Karland knows her craft.

Tobias was a take charge kind of guy, which is to be expected when a man is part of an MC. Readers need to be reminded that profanity and growly gruff language is to be expected. Tobias is especially gifted in that department.

Kitty is young in age but not in life experience. To strive to reach Olympics’ level of any sport, an athlete has to have grit, determination, a high pain tolerance and the wherewithal to persevere when the going gets tough. The heroine has been dealt a bad hand and tries to figure it out on her own, but when the people she trusts fail her, she’s at her lowest point. Yet she’s stubborn and refuses to give up. It’s that spunky nature that attracts Tobias, but it’s the surprisingly protective instinct that wakes up inside him that propels him to take action. The pace of the romance speeds up from there, giving me everything I look forward to in a romance story.

The villain of the piece isn’t a large presence. He does provoke the plot conflict and that part is effective. There are a few scenes with him that don’t exactly mesh with his actions later on, or with his history that I learn about later in the book. There is this big buildup of a showdown, then …. Yeah, Tobias felt the same way I did. In a weird way, how it all went down has a humorous backdrop to it. Yes, it was serious, but the author chose to keep the upbeat romance front and center and not be sidelined by a plot conflict that easily could have overshadowed Tobias and Kitty.

Overall, I’m very pleased with this story. I seem to always have a good time when I visit with Ms. Karland’s MC characters and Tobias and company bring with them that element of an MC family. Strong, noble, not afraid to get down and dirty, and even a bit bloody, and always have each other’s backs when the going gets tough. That’s the kind of community that Kitty will thrive in and with Tobias, their happily-ever-after is off to a firecracker of a start.

This was a fun one! I really enjoyed every moment of this novella. It has a great romance, complicated conflicts, stubborn dads, a heroine who is just as stubborn and a hero who finally gets the one wish granted he never thought possible. On top of it all is Cuddles, the best animal side-kick ever.

Ms. Wylde threw in some bad guys, drama, suspense, family togetherness and some of that MC magic she’s known for. I was a bit shocked when Hawk reprimanded Lia but when he explained it to the witness, it turned out to be what had to be done. Something like that could not go unaddressed and I guess I’m a bit bloodthirsty or I really, really liked Hayley, the heroine, because to be truthful, I felt she deserved it too.

I think the only annoying niggle is the complete lack of communication and assumption on both character’s sides. He’s older, she’s younger, I think their perspectives were colored by it just a little, but they really are good together. They both thought the same way about the other, which could be considered a comedy of errors, but my heartstrings were more involved with Hayley’s situation because she is a product of her upbringing. Her dad held the strings way too tight and I think that is what allowed the situation to come about in the first place. If only there was less assumption and more willingness to reach out and TALK!

All that being said, the zing and sizzle between Hawk and Hayley was like spontaneous combustion. Passions exploded early on and for a good chunk of the story, the effects of their encounter haunted them. The big question for a reader is what was it going to take to get them together? Communication, that’s what. Not how you might guess it might go though, so readers are in for an interesting time.

This being the super-hot kind of romance that this is, there are a lot of description, some toys and naughty shenanigans to thrill readers of this romance genre. All were written well and are effectively titillating.

Fans of MC romances by Ms. Wylde are in for a treat when they read Hawk’s story. I was thoroughly entertained and am very satisfied with their happy ever after ending. This was a very good read.

After a quick search I was delighted to find Claiming Her Bears, the complete series which includes Protected by Bears, Polar Dream (novella) and the final story, Craved by Bears – it’s the whole romance story arc and it’s well worth the time and money. I was really happy I was able to read the whole romance adventure without waiting for individual installments and I enjoyed every moment. The book runs the gamut like gods from mythology, including the Fates, a reverse harem, bear shifters, the world after the ice caps melted and the planet flooded, and something called vampire bears. Ms. MacKinnon has an amazing imagination and I had fun exploring her worldbuilding.

The heroine is Isla, and Toben, Hunn, Ran and Finn are her mates. There are accent marks in the names of Hunn and Ran but I don’t know how to find the font that has them. Alis is a character that isn’t corporeal but very important and Bertrand, Arnold and Ruby are the other important secondary characters. They end up being a big family but before most get their happily ever afters, many challenges need to be overcome. The heroine, Isla, is the person with the most growth. She’s the main focus and she makes the biggest sacrifices to not only save her own happiness but everyone else she loves. It’s quite the adventure.

Since it’s reverse harem, four to one, you know there’s a lot of physical hijinks with the men servicing Isla when passions run high. There is no mixing up between the men, it’s purely focused on the heroine and yet the author didn’t go nuts with the bedroom antics. I was grateful for that because the plot conflicts were much more interesting and unique. There’s the bad guy in Canada, Glut and her daughters in the dream world, Isla’s tyrannical uncle, and the breaking of a curse that prevents werebear females from having cubs. They are left with remnants of the old world, certain foodstuffs and clothing left in abandoned houses. The cast of characters are facing the lack of electricity, running water and medicines, and simple things like chocolate that we take for granted in our time are almost impossible to find. Isla has memories of before, when the world was as we currently know it now, and yet she’s a survivor and has done alright for herself, but escaping her uncle was the best thing she ever did, even if she didn’t think she’d survive the choice.

I think the cutest part of the book is baby Ruby. She’s the result of Isla’s relationship with all four men. No one knows who the actual dad might be, but it’s a nonissue. The love that abounds is clear and wonderful. And, considering how special Ruby turned out to be, and the challenges Isla has in bringing up a cub is especially intriguing since the heroine at the start was human. I did say the heroine was the one that experienced the most growth, right? Well, going from human to not is truly fascinating.

I probably could review each book individually, but since I bought the one book that has all of them, and each one is a continuation from the previous one, it makes sense to recommend readers buy the big volume and read them all like I did. It’s a much better experience and a lot more fun. Of all of Isla’s mates, I actually couldn’t pick a favorite. However, the one that emotionally touched me the most was Ran. His story, when he finally reveals what happened to him as a cub, not only made me truly sad, but it made Isla sad and angry too. The author’s description during Ran’s recounting was powerful and effective, and even a bit disturbing.

There is a lot more I could say because there’s a richness in the storytelling when read as one volume. I heartily recommend paranormal romance fans grab the big book, with all 3 stories plus the novella, for a truly entertaining and fascinating reading experience. I think Claiming Her Bears is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. That’s what I did and I had a ball.

Imagine being the crazy cat lady at a young age because your husband dies and you take over his cat sanctuary. That’s a good thing, right? But what happens to your life and dreams? Where do they go?

Nick has had a rough time of it with cyberbullying, and Claire is slowly drowning as she tries to keep the sanctuary alive. These two are made for each other, and they realize it quite early on, but in trying to keep emotions out of their relationship, it becomes more confusing than it should be.

I enjoyed this book, the first one by this author I have read. Her writing style is smooth, and it is evenly paced out. The only problem I had was the constant back and forth between Nick and Claire. It felt like just a bit too much for me, although I am sure I will be in the minority with that opinion. I like having some angst in the stories I read, but this one felt a little like a pendulum. I guess that makes it authentic?!

All in all, this was a great read. This is the third book in the series so now I really want to read books one and two. If you enjoy contemporary romance, then I can absolutely recommend this book.

Devin had only been a little bit over the speed limit, but when he’s pulled over by a policeman Devin has trouble keeping his interest and attraction to the sexy cop hidden. Relived both that the handsome policeman doesn’t give him a ticket but also that nothing was said about his attire, Devin continues his drive home after his singing gig in his drag queen get-up. But when later Devin and Justin meet again at the club Justin is no longer in his uniform and the two men don’t have to keep their exchange brief and professional any longer.

I really enjoyed the writing style of this short and sexy story. I felt a connection to Devin straight away – pleased that the opening scene of being pulled over and really nervous about it was something so utterly relatable. It helped really set the mood for me but also let me feel a good empathy and connection with Devin’s character. I was jolted out of the story a few times by some typos/editing errors near the start of the book, but overall I really enjoyed Devin’s story.

I loved how even though he could be brave and confidant as Miss Teaque (his drag queen alter ego) Devin also was still the somewhat shy young guy inside who let himself be bullied around by his mother. This contrast was part of what made Devin so realistic and enjoyable to me. Devin is still trying to sort himself out and find his way and watching him blossom was really lovely. I found the plotline surrounding Devin’s mother a little cliched – but this in no way detracted from my enjoyment of the story as Devin and Justin’s connection – and Devin’s relationship with his brother – together more than made up for this.

I particularly loved how Devin and Justin took some time to get to know each other outside of the bedroom before they became physically intimate. While the sex was a little kinky and super hot when they got there, the connection between Devin and Justin felt deeper and more realistic for them actually trying to get to know each other first and not just having sex as soon as they connected. This really helped sell me on the potential longevity of their relationship and left me with a really good feeling about them both.

Sexy, light and fun this is a good short story.
