This Hot and Haunted anthology had me going just from the cover. Let me first say that it sounded very Halloween-esque and I wanted it immediately. The masked mystery woman had me aching to discover what was inside the pages.

The first story, Nothing Else Matters by Megan Hart was a zombie apocalypse of the sexy kind. What do you do when you are faced with death at every turn? Celebrate life and the erotic moments that can be fleeting but oh so sexy. This story was by far my favorite of the collection. Zombies, survival, some really hunky heroes to fall into bed with, and a heroine that takes no crap from anyone, especially zombies. The plot was edgy, the sex scenes melted me in my seat and I loved every second of it. If you are a fan of Walking Dead or Zombieland, you will love this. I have a couple of books from this author on my e-reader and now I have got to read more!

Pick Me Up by Lauren Hawkeye was a gunshot of a story. Would you pick up a stranger on the side of the road that looked like they were in distress? What if they were very intent on seducing you? This story will have you second guessing every second of it and feeling the heat of the steamy car windows as you live the tension and suspense. As I read, I kept waiting for something to pop out at me but as you will discover at the last possible moment, suspense is better served cold. Great sex scenes, heart stopping murderous edge of your seat action…this one will have you wondering the whole time.

Little Red’s Big Bad by Saranna DeWylde was a fun and sinister twist on the Red Riding Hood fairy tale. Enter a serial killer with some serious lycanthropic issues, a sexy hero FBI agent and a criminal profiler who knows how to get her man. It just so happens that as she is both the hunter and the prey in this fast paced read. Get ready to check out some skills with a cell phone that will show you a thing or two about apps that can make your night. Snow bound and steamy, this will put some marshmallows on your hot chocolate and some spice in your cider. Yum. Read it under a full moon for an extra bit of frightful allure.

These stories were a great collection of supernatural adventure, suspense and erotica. The smooth writing from Megan Hart made hers my ultimate favorite, followed by Saranna DeWylde’s werewolf story and last the hitchhiker scare from Lauren Hawkeye. The cover art was lovely, but had nothing at all to do with the stories inside. When I first looked at it, I envisioned Halloween stories and masked balls. Nope. Not a one.

If you love a great mix of paranormal suspense and dark and steamy erotica, get out your ereader cause you are going to want to read this and put it on your keeper shelf.

Niko and Jaleesa burned up the pages, with their interaction both verbal and sexual. This story wasn’t just about sex, it was about love at first sight, trust and respect two people developed for one another. There were also villains, people who were out to kill Niko, and someone who wanted to harm Jaleesa. I found it amusing when Niko’s estranged mother met Jaleesa for the first time. Wait until you read it… I bet you laugh.

Jaleesa’s Pleasure had everything I enjoy in a story: likeable main characters–even the secondary characters were engaging–a little mystery and of course, a very endearing love story.

Erosa Knowles has won me over and I look forward to reading more from her, and I think others will enjoy reading Jaleesa’s Pleasure. Pick up a copy and judge for yourself, you won’t be sorry.

Also there is a three week countdown until the case against the dirty Judge is brought to court, which keeps the pace moving at a good clip. These tensions don’t overshadow the growing sexual chemistry between Bridget and the twins, however, and at times the reader can get caught up in that first flush of romance and forget the rest of the plot.

With strong secondary characters and a good mix of spice, action and romance this is a fun, happy read – perfect for the weekend or a bit of a wind down at the end of a hard week. The sex is lusty and well written and the hero’s are caring, protective and yummy. There is a definite set up for another book between one brother of the twins that is interesting enough to keep an eye out for.

Hotsuma Mizuno was the eleventh head of the Mizuno family that had been bound to water by his family in the eighteen hundreds. He was surprised and hopeful when the woman stepped into the room and entered the pool. After all the centuries he was trapped in his watery prison, hope started to bloom. Could this woman be his salvation, his hope of freedom? Hotsuma could not let her go without getting her to help him escape his prison.

Wet: Undercurrent was an excellent read which had a little intrigue, a lot of chemistry between the main characters, intense sex and of course a villain. This reader was caught up in the story from the first paragraph and was disappointed when the story ended. Lulu was funny and somewhat sarcastic which this reader found entertaining. Hotsuma was intense and was determined to get free so that he could be with Lulu. This is definitely one of those books that I will read again, because it was so enjoyable. Zenobia Renquist wrote an excellent story, one which would appeal to most readers, as it did to me.

The limits of time and place fade away as Madame Eve manages to set up Eleanor with Darius, and with each other, they find the happiness they both lack.

This story is a true fantasy, and works best if you try not to over think it as you read. The author does a nice job of setting a picture – from the unhappiness of each character to the environment each lives in, it was easy to create a mental image of what was happening on the page.

The connection between Darius and Eleanor was vivid, and I could feel the chemistry they made together. One thing just didn’t fit, however. The condoms. I know safe sex is an issue to most people, as it rightfully should be, but seeing as how Eleanor travelled back in time to ancient Rome, the concept of condoms seemed very out of place, especially since it was Darius who wore them, and he hardly questioned what this thing was that Eleanor asked him to wear – even going so far as to remind her later in the evening about them. It was a detail that unfortunately took me out of the story because it seemed to strange.

Happily ever after was alluded to, and I really would like to find out how that was accomplished, considering how different the two people were, yet how well they fit with each other. I would love to have this one continue because it feels as if we got the beginnings of a story, but it ended far too quickly.

The pros outweighed the cons in this one. If you like romance and fantasy, and don’t like to overthink things, Senator Mine may be a good fit for you.

Serena knew that if the evil spirit got her there would be no hope for her at all.

Devil’s Tavern III: Possession is an unusual book because it mixes religion in with paranormal. This is the first book that I have read where a shifter has left his pack to go spread the word of God, then come back because of the premonition he had about his home being destroyed. It was an interesting story but somehow I couldn’t really get into it. The premise was interesting, the story was well written and the characters were likeable. It’s just that the story left me unsure about how I felt about it, especially since this was not the end of Bruno and Serena’s journey. I would recommend you read for yourself because you may find things in it that I missed. I have to say that Crymsyn Hart is a very creative writer and I would absolutely read another of her stories.

Morgan is a strong woman who has to make a hard choice and almost doesn’t make the right one. I really enjoyed watching the bond develop between Roul and Morgan. Their attraction is a strong one right from the get go and watching it turn into love was a great read. The author does a wonderful job of bringing the characters and their world to life. There is so much emotion in this story that I lost myself in their world and enjoyed my visit all the way to the end.

Is the possibility of love worth the downfall of Beth’s budding Naval career and Hank’s Naval reputation?

This was my first chance to read a story featuring both the male and female leads involved in some sort of military career. I was excited to read how the relationship dynamics would work between two people with not just desire in common but also duty. The story starts right off with Hank and Beth’s first meeting and continues at a rapid fire pace with the discoveries they make along the way of their affair. Unfortunately, the pacing really affected the fluidity of the storyline and rushed through character development a bit too much for me to really connect with them or their situation. There was so much potential for the story to be really great if the characters could have been more fleshed out.

Nevertheless, I did find enjoyment in this quick read. The journey leaves the reader questioning throughout if they will find a way to make it work or not. Then the ending brought an unexpected element that left me wondering and thinking about the characters afterward. This story is definitely for readers who don’t mind instant chemistry mixed with a forbidden love kind of tale.

Scarlet heads off to the woods on a camping trip with a group of friends, one of whom seems to think he has a chance with her (though this never comes to anything). She is pretty indifferent about the whole trip, but it’s something to do. She’s kind of bored with her life and has no one special to share it with.

When the so-called friends come across a cute little cottage in the woods and drunkenly start to mess the place up, Scarlet pleads with them to stop, horrified that they could be doing this. Her innocent declarations however, fall on deaf ears when the owners of the cottage, three drop dead gorgeous bear shifting brothers, discover only her around.

Scarlet and the Three Bears is one seriously steamy ménage story. I liked Scarlet from the beginning, though I did find there were quite a few other characters to get to know at this point with all the friends names popping up. She is feisty, knows what she wants and stands up to her friends drunken behavior. As for the brothers, wow, great characters. Conner, Brell and Leland were all different personalities and I felt I got to know them quickly and easily. I enjoyed how the author switched points of view a few times, it made for a well-rounded read.

Did I mention the sex? There’s spanking, anal, oral, threesome fun galore. Scarlet gets to really enjoy her time with the brothers, and then, when the story closes, you’re left with a nice thought of her still continuing her erotic fun with them deep in the forest somewhere.
