The chemistry between them was off the charts and the sex scenes incredibly hot. Oh, that shower… Plus, the author knew how to build anticipation, so by the time something finally happened between them, I was at the edge of my seat unable to put The Writer’s Desire down.

I’m an unconditional fan of Sierra Cartwright’s novels. I think she’s a great author and I love reading her, but lately, I can’t seem to shake off the feeling that her novels start a little slow. Bind is no exception. It took me a while to warm up to the characters but eventually I did, and became hooked.

The novel flows smoothly. The writing, as always is first rate, but it is the tension between the characters and the hot sex scenes that move the story forward and thus kept e on edge in more ways than one. One of my favorite scenes was the office proposition. It had me wishing I was little Lara.

However, even though the sex was hot I had the perception that unlike other novels, Cartwright didn’t go into much detail about the BDSM portion. Of course, it was there, after all, it is an essential part of the plot line and Connor himself, but Lara was a novice and unlike other heroines and what one would expect in real life, she accepted everything Connor dished. It was a roller coaster ride in which I seemed to be missing the smooth transition between hills.

The characters stop feeling like obsessive workers and become people with a common goal both in and out of the bedroom. Their relationship is not only based on their sexual attraction but also on their brilliant minds.

However, even though I warmed up to both Grant and Aria, for some reason, I have to admit that these are the characters which have caused the least impact on me out of all of Cartwright’s novels.

The sex, as in all of Ms. Cartwright’s novels is well written, hot and never boring. (The author demonstrates well that BDSM is much more than kneeling, spanking, cuffs and flogging).

Furthermore, at one point in the novel, I couldn’t help wonder why Rosie didn’t research Edifu’s past and cast her doubts aside. However, with that said, Rosie is an endearing character and I was rooting for her from the start.

Her male counterparts are equally engaging. They’re not only attractive, or mannequins to serve a purpose. They felt like real people.

Pyramids of Passion is a hot, sensual read with a happy for now ending. I will certainly be looking for future stories from Ms. Lovett.

A well written novel, I was drawn into the world of Lady Isabel Avenbury and Lord Lyndham without any effort.

On the one hand, as heir to the marquis, Lyndham must find a woman to marry and produce heirs. On the other hand, Lady Avenbury, a young widow, is ready to marry her sister off and enjoy her life to the fullest–including sexually. The attraction between them is palpable but to make matters worse, the Ladies Book Of Pleasure, (a forbidden book circulating the Ton), comes into the picture, creating the best and most erotic kind of trouble for them.

Unlike many other period novels where characters seem made out of cardboard, Lyndham and Avenbury felt real and human. As their feelings and their affair developed, so did they.

Throughout the book, I laughed and smiled at the moments of joy, almost cried at certain points, and stood hanging onto the edge of my seat at others. The emotion between the characters jumped out of the book and I could do nothing but root for them and hope that everything would end well in the end, for although there is a happy ending, A Matter of Sin was not entirely predictable.

All in all, A Matter of Sin was a delightful, steamy and romantic read that had me craving for more. I will look forward to more stories featuring this infamous, Ladies Book of Pleasure.

Sadly, I felt that the change in Ailsa, the heroine, is too radical because she goes from hardly having any knowledge about BDSM and being very frightened to being the perfect submissive in the blink of an eye. From my point of view, the end became too fanciful and lost touch with the realism that seemed to permeate the rest of the story.

However, I would still recommend this novel to anyone who is looking for an interesting read with some sizzling BDSM sex.

David is my type of favorite hero: handsome, hard-headed, unable to give up, dominant, alpha and yet capable of laughing and enjoying life. Jess is his perfect counterpart: intelligent, beautiful, in control of her world, except when she’s with him. That change in attitude when David is around is what makes their Dom/sub relationship perfect. That, and the way Ms. McAllan describes their attraction and the sizzling sex that promptly ensues.

The story between David and Jess ends happily, but the author expertly delivers one more blow that has enticed me to read the next book in the series.

Secrets Shared is a well written spicy read with love, attraction and a little mystery, that you won’t be able to put down.

Reece and Sarah are far from perfect. As I read the novel, I had mixed feelings toward both of them. On the one hand, I understood Sarah’s fear, but on the other hand, I also had the impression that a lot of the time she was selfish. After all, she ran. She ran without saying goodbye or without giving an explanation and she returned two years later. I repeat, two years later. I seriously thought that was a ridiculously long amount of time for her to realize that she still loved Reece and wanted to try to win him back.

However, I looked past it as did Reece. He was also a complicated character. I have to say, that at first when she came back I had the annoying impression that he only reunited with her because she was now a “perfect” sub. As I read about him and what he demanded (even if unconsciously) I understood why Sarah would run and also why she would come back, for even though I had my doubts about them, their love story still prevailed. Every action, every word, every little thing had an inkling of love that wasn’t overt but was present. There was an undercurrent of emotion between them that denoted not two persons that had just met but two persons that knew each other well from before.

With intriguing secondary characters, Ms. Cartwright has also set the stage for forthcoming novels, which I will certainly read.

All in all, Crave was a wonderful read that will get romantics swooning and BDSM readers hot.
