This short story is full of magic and vampires, power and twisting plot-lines. What on the surface looks like just another paranormal tale has been deepened to have quite a convoluted back story and numerous twists and turns. It kept me guessing all the way through and quite a few times took me by surprise. The author has packed quite a bit into this story in a manner I find quite impressive. Short enough to get through in a few hours, but certainly not your average, simple tale, I think this will entertain even the most jaded paranormal reader.
