Struggling college student and self-taught graphic artist Justin Bennet isn’t the most self-confident guy, but he knows he’s good at two things: snowboarding and sex. Why does Andi, the hot instructor at the Tyrolean ski resort, pretend Justin doesn’t exist?
Justin becomes all but obsessed with the idea of scoring with the young Austrian. Because for all the man’s reserve, he made it quite obvious he likes Justin–at least from the neck down.

When Justin books a private heliboarding trip with Andi as his guide, he thinks he’s one step away from striking gold. But then the forces of nature take over, trapping the men in a snowstorm, and things get real. What was supposed to be about some freeriding fun and inviting a closeted guy to start exploring his options suddenly becomes about survival–and the hidden truths of the soul.
Trying to beat jet-lag, Justin heads to the hotels spa – Glacier Cave – to start his relaxing holiday. And coming into contact with the most delicious looking man Justin had ever seen just made the holiday even better. Andi, however, is the son of the hotel’s owner and after one steamy glance Andi determinedly ignores Justin and shuts down his every attempt to get into the man’s lederhosen. Unwilling to let the handsome man go, Justin is certain he can get through to Andi.
Told in the first-person perspective this is mostly a fun and lighthearted story that gave me a few twists and turns. Initially, I found the lingering question of “was Andi just deeply closeted – or is he really not interested” totally consumed me. Almost the first third of the book revolves around exactly this and while it definitely kept and held my attention, I found it a little uncomfortable to read because I was never a hundred percent certain that Andi was fully into Justin and not just trying to be polite to a hotel guest. Justin was relentless in his pursuit of Andi and a few times I internally cringed at just how strongly he came across and how very close to the line of pushing too hard Justin came.
That said, once I was positive Andi was into Justin and not feeling harassed I could relax and really enjoy the light-hearted humour of the story. Justin is very strong-willed and determined, once he has Andi in his sights nothing, not even other offers and the chance at a threesome, is going to side-track him. Even though I was never really one hundred percent certain what was going through Andi’s mind – or how he felt about the relentlessness of Justin’s pursuit of him – I did enjoy what I could perceive of Andi’s character. There were a few scenes in the middle of the story where I actually cheered aloud for Andi and oddly, even though the story is in Justin’s perspective in many ways I preferred Andi’s character and wanted HIM to get a happy ending, possibly even more than Justin.
The intimacy between the two men is intense and climactic – all the more for the long, hard road they each had to take to get there. I really enjoyed it and found it deeply satisfying. I also enjoyed the feeling I got while reading the scenes that it was both men doing more than simply sharing their bodies, but making a firm commitment together. I found the resolution between the two men to be deeply satisfying and I was really pleased they’d managed to find their way together.
I feel more traditional readers might find Justin and his determination a little much – or people who are sensitive to overly determined pursuits in the face of rejection. There’s a definite flavor of stalker-ish-ness here and while I feel the author absolutely stayed on the correct side of the line, Justin to my mind at least flirted with that line of going a little too hard and too far. Aside from that this is a fun and lighthearted story and I really enjoyed the sexy scenes when Justin and Andi finally became intimate with each other. This story won’t be for everyone, but I think plenty of people really will enjoy it nevertheless.
