First off let me say that although this book is short it did not short change me or leave me feeling that the author rushed me through the story. I did want it to be a little longer but that’s only because I was so engrossed in the story I became greedy for more. Nia and Darius set the pages of this book on fire and had me reaching for a cold bottle of water. The sex was smoking hot and the interaction of the characters made for a very entertaining read.
Nia Hudson, Carmen Thompson and Gabriella have dubbed themselves the ‘V’s or the ‘Voluptuously Sexies’. They are full figured women who have powerful jobs, Nia is a cop, Carmen is the Medical Examiner and Gabriella is the Assistant District Attorney. Carmen is the first of the V’s to get married but Nia being the cynic, or a realist as she calls herself, believes that relationships only lead to bitterness and heartache. It’s at Carmen’s wedding that she encounters Darius Wilde who along with his brothers own the hotel Carmen’s reception is held at. His piercing blue eyes makes Nia want to ‘sink her tongue between his lips and taste him’.
Darius knew that Nia was his mate but he did not want to rush her, he wanted her to come to him on her own. You see, Darius and his family had a secret and he wanted Nia to be so enamored of him that his secret wouldn’t matter. The story along with its ups and downs had me eagerly awaiting Nia and Darius’ next encounter. Nia couldn’t control her hunger for him, and she couldn’t explain why, she just needed to be with him. Her reaction and the reason behind her reaction to his secret was unexpected.
This book had me from the opening paragraph and kept my interest until the last page. Like I said, I wanted just a few more pages, but this is a welcome continuation of the Wilde series, and I look forward to the next book in this series.
