Steph–what an interesting way to celebrate spring–red and white strings.
My favorie holiday? Fourth of July. We used to have to much fun as kids with our penny firecrackers and sparklers, running around in the dark, barefoot. There so many things to do with sparklers. And no one warned us not to touch the end–it would burn our hand. We knew that–it was obvious!
We used to have local big fireworks displays, but the money ran out and it’s on a smaller scale, plus hard to get to.
So I watch every program on TV that has patriotic music and fireworks–love it! Celia
Celia, the 4th is a big holiday in our house. It started in 2000 when Brent and I went there. (prior kids) and ate a BBQ in the Casino and watched the fireworks over the bay. OMG! It was lovely – beautiful. And it sure beat going to a crowded high school football field to watch fireworks.
Since 2007, we’ve gone to Catalina Island every year for the 4th of July. The kids love the golf cart parade, the BBQs, the swimming, the fireworks, walking around town. Nothing beats it!

How neat, that Martisor holiday. I was in Belarus for Women’s Day on March 8 and I loved that holiday where men honored the women in their lives. I always learn something new in your blogs.
