With her parents setting her up with a variety of paranormal men, Sephany just wants to go to her cousin’s wedding shower and have a good time. But surprise, her escort for the evening is none other than the unicorn, Malksis. Together they attend the function in Realm, and that is where it all hits the fan. Sephany is kidnapped by dark elves, and in an effort to get her back Mal will have to deal with a most deadly creature of Realm, Seph’s father. The dwarf lord Gorven Dremlock is not happy that the unicorn has lost his daughter, and this is the pony boy’s last chance to claim Sephany as his own or leave her forever.

The Warders are having a party, and that means there will be fun, and games, and trouble. One of Sephany’s cousins is having a bachelorette party, and all of the Warder women will be in attendance. With this large a group, the party must be held in Realm, because only realm can contain that number of Warders in one place. Sephany’s date is Malksis, a unicorn shifter who has petitioned for Sephany’s hand (and the rest of her). Seph hates the idea of an arranged marriage, being a modern woman, but few have survived her father’s approval process. Can the Warders have just one party with no problems? Can Seph and Malksis find a way to be alone together to work on their relationship? And just who is the target of the ill-timed kidnapping?

Viola Grace has the most inventive imagination. I love the Warder series, and The Warder’s Unicorn is no exception. The characters are well defined, and fascinating to read. There is always some twist with the happy ever after, whether it is kidnapping by dark elves, trolls poisoning streams, or mistaken identity crises.

I had to laugh at some of Sephany’s comments, because Malksis is, after all, a unicorn shifter leaving open the obvious comments about being “hung like…” And since he ends up naked every time he shifts… you get the picture. Sephany has serious misgivings in that area, because although she claims to be a “modern” woman, she will be surrendering her virginity to the one who meets both her parents’ and her own approval. When they finally do the deed, it is tastefully done, but hot and steamy as well. If you want a sexy and funtastic reading experience that will make you giggle and feel good, this one is for you. While this book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the others, just because they are so much fun.
