Ms. Devlin writes an intriguing novella. The characters are interesting in that they are both cursed. As for the hero, Octavius seemed a bit too passive. Although the haughty looks increased with his desire for her, I would’ve liked to have had him act a bit stronger, a bit more heroic rather than allowing her to be so free with her charms.
The story was interesting, but if I’m looking for a happily ever after, I’m not sure that this story fits the bill. I wanted to see the characters fall in love, not drown in lust.
If you want a sexy story filled with raw, unleashed carnality, then this is the story for you. I give Stone’s Embrace 3 cherries.
