Blake de Marco is a waiter, guitar player and a werewolf. Hating his curse and Lynette, he sets out to find a way to stop her only to find he is drawn by the scent of a beautiful woman.
Can their love withstand the truth or will Lynette’s destructive plan separate them forever?
Guardians come in all shapes and sizes. What draws me as a reader to them is the size of their heart. Ashling is an assassin with a heart. She has the unenviable task of stopping a werewolf victim from becoming a werewolf, and does it with courage, grace and compassion. She’s a lovely character to spend time with.
Hero Blake is a waiter by day and a werewolf by night. Now here’s a guy who likes to live dangerously – flirting with someone who hates his kind, kills his kind. How to get around that little technicality? Just don’t tell her – and pray to God she never finds out. Easier said than done.
There’s another werewolf out there who would like nothing better than to destroy them both. Setting them up to destroy each other – that’s just a bonus. But how long can two characters who pride themselves on integrity keep up the charade?
The book was a short, quick read. The main characters were engaging and believable. I had a hard time with opening the book in the POV of a victim. Since readers tend to latch onto the first character they set eyes on in a book, killing him off on page two set me aback. I had to adjust to the “Whose story is this?” all over again. The weakness was in the editing. I think it could have used some tightening, some spots that would have worked better with less telling, more active tense. I wish it could have been longer. It wrapped up awfully fast.
But I enjoyed it overall. I liked spending time with Ashling and Blake, and I liked the pro-truthfulness theme. Lying to each other in a relationship never works out. Glad these two learned that.
Thank you, Heather, for taking the time to review my story.
I apologize for the delay in thanking you, I had no idea the review was up. 🙂
Anyway, thanks again
