Review by: Cherokee RoseIt’s love at first sight for Jackson “Jack” Masters when he lays eyes on the curvaceous new tenant in his building, and decides she will be his. What surprises him is his best friend Lane Dundas also has his sights set on the voluptuous dark-skinned woman with eyes of gold.
Jack is willing to lay everything on the line to win Zarah’s affections, even when that means sharing her with Lane. Yet every step of the way he is met with resistance. No matter what he says or does, her past prevents her from believing the sincerity of his attraction.
Zarah Elliott is plump, uncomfortable in her own skin, and a realist who has come to grips with living out the rest of her days alone and celibate. Until she comes face-to-face with the man of her dreams — make that men of her dreams. Is it wrong for a woman to take pleasure in mind blowing sex in the arms of a handsome stranger or two, without allowing emotions to get in the way? Zarah doesn’t think so. Men have been engaging in casual, no-strings sex to sate their physical needs since the dawn of time. Why can’t she?
Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, ménage (m/f/m).
Zarah has been criticized about her size all of her life. She is well aware of the fact that she is overweight. Still she thinks that things are going well but she has a boyfriend who cares about her. One she plans to seduce as soon as she arrives home. Unfortunately it all goes out the window when she walks into the house and sees the man she has been living with being sexually serviced by a petite blonde. Feeling as thought it isn’t in the cards for her to be happy or have a good man, she decides to focus on herself for a change. Men will no longer be a part of her life.
Or so she thinks.

It gets even more complicated when Lane, Jackson’s friend and neighbor, sees Zarah and is attracted to her as well. Can Lane and Jackson work through the dilemma of wanting the same woman, or is their relationship with each other and Zarah doomed?
Now,I have to say I have read some books featuring a full-figured woman, and enjoyed the majority of them. But this story I enjoyed immensely! Jennifer Cole’s character, Zarah, is truly a woman I could relate to even if I didn’t have her exact insecurities. There were times when I felt bad for her because it just seemed like her awful luck never ended. Then there were scenes where I wanted to shake Zarah and tell her to get it together.
What I liked about this story is the fact the main characters, Zarah and Jackson, are “real” people. They both have a lot of baggage to deal with. It was refreshing to read about everyday characters that most if not all readers can relate to on some level. I also like how the story was broken down. The book was well paced and the plot well developed. Even the secondary characters in the story have you rooting for them.
Pursing Zarah is highly engaging and enjoyable. Do yourself a favor and pick up this character-driven romance. I bet you fall in love with the story, too!
