James is a unique character on many levels. As leader of the Diabolus Venator motorcycle club of demon hunters, he has no issue with going for broke in all that he tackles. This goes for his personal life as well, as exhibited by his ability to walk away from the one woman who makes him feel whole – Maddy. This one common thread is the cause for the majority of the angst between them, but it is also the one thing that holds them together.

Despite the first two chapters coming off in a rather disjointed and confusing manner, the author pulls it all together by chapter three, bringing the story into more clarity and focus, making it easier to follow to its conclusion. While it is definitely worth the read, please be warned that the nasty demon has absolutely no remorse for his victims and, in one case, repeatedly abuses a woman sexually. Although it’s not graphically described to the reader, it is still a sensitive subject and even made my hardened stomach clench in parts.

That aside, Possession is an action packed adventure of a lifetime. Filled to the brim with interesting and exciting characters, you’ll be pulled into their world in no time.
