Phillips’ unpredictable romance Night of Turmoil, is a visit to a foreign land in the throes of change, and yet, romance is romance, in whatever time and place.
Chelsea O’Malley is an ESL teacher and seems at home in Tunisia – but also, cautious. She is in a changing world, with enormous political changes underway, and she is well aware peaceful protests could lead to violence. Driven by a desire to understand people and their religion better, she took a position in the city of Tunis. She didn’t expect to find love… and suddenly, she is no longer a cautious teacher, but risk taker; adventurer.
Risk comes at a price. What starts as a bit of a ‘message’ story quickly becomes a dramatic tale of danger and love, personal hopes and general freedoms.
