Nobody writes family like Lauren Dane. The Browns are an eclectic group of loving individuals that leap off of every page. They are personable, attractive, comforting and their family dynamic is real and relatable. At every turn they draw you in and keep you here. There is never an uncomfortable moment, or regret their movements and decisions. I must admit after developing somewhat of a relationship with the Browns and with Lauren Dane, her character of Gillian is not exactly personable or endearing at first. She is distant, combative and even a little snobbish, but the continued attention and determination of the Browns soften her exterior and her heart. It is a treat to watch the defensive walls built by both of the characters slowly come tumbling down.
When it comes to family drama and romance you will never go wrong with a Lauren Dane novel. This is one of her best!!
