Shannon Fabray is a sculpture artist and her love of the pure masculine body is demonstrated in every work of aesthetic art she creates. But her passion for the body doesn’t extend into her personal life after a hellish experience in college left her with nowhere to turn but her work. After several criticisms about the lack of passion in her sculptures, Shannon is determined to face her fears and take desire by the balls. A one-night stand should do the trick.

Artist Shannon Fabray signed up for a one night stand for an unusual reason. Her sculptures, though beautiful, lack passion. She thought if she could get past her previous trauma, a rape that occurred years prior, she could unlock that hidden part of herself and pour it into her work.

In walked Brody. He listened to Shannon, and slowly drew out her insecurities before confidently helping her overcome them. By giving her the power, he helped her become the woman she probably should have been all along.

The connection between these two was palpable and the sex was as hot as I’ve read. I’ll admit a personal bias to military men, but Brody was the dream man for so many women. Shannon may have been damaged, but it was a joy to watch her slowly take control of her life and find the woman buried within!

Although the story was short, there was a clear beginning, middle, and end – including a very satisfying resolution. I love these characters and would love to revisit them sometime in the future! I’ll definitely be looking for more of Ms. Long’s work. If you want a quick, hot read, this is definitely a book to pick up!
