Saroya has always been fascinated by Linc and never understood his reluctance to be near her. When he makes it clear he’s sexually interested, she jumps at the chance to join him in bed. But things get more complicated in the light of day.

Linc has wanted Saroya from the moment he met her, and throughout her short mating with his brother. His culture might encourage two males to mate with one woman, but Linc could never share Saroya. Not even with his brother. When his brother dies, leaving her unmated, Linc intends to claim her. Before he can win that battle he’ll have to swallow his warrior pride and win her heart once and for all.

Summertime temps have nothing on “Heated Mating”, so a pool may be needed to cool you off.

Saroya was rescued from her home planet and mated to Gage before she knew all the rules and customs of his people, but after arriving on Lumineta she soon found herself in love with his brother Linc — who refuses to share their bed; something that is a common practice on their world because of the lack of women.

When Gage dies Linc promises to take care of her but she soon realizes that there is a reason behind that promise. Action is what counts to a warrior like Linc and “talking is overrated” in his book. When I read that phrase within the pages of the book I felt a kinship to Saroya; I felt her turmoil and understood her determination to get Linc to open up and share his feelings with her.

For such a short story I formed a bond with the characters Saroya and Linc pretty fast, but felt that the plot would have been more enjoyable if I could have read more about their relationship and how they acted before Gage’s death. Had there been a little more detail and a better understanding of what came before, this book would have been a keeper for my library.

I truly loved the characters and became enmeshed in their feelings and personalities. I felt the electricity and stimulation coming off the pages between the two, but I wanted more. The author did an amazing job in bringing the characters to life and the sex scenes where sweet and tender with a lot of feeling between the hero and heroine. The editing was good and the plot was adorable, I just felt like the author cut the unique tale too short.

I would recommend this book for those times when you want something short and hot to read. The story was charming and entertaining.
