Left for dead by her peers and enslaved by those who found her, Miranda has been enjoying living one day at a time without worrying about healing anyone whose pain called out to her. At her Master’s direction, she takes a young Enjel under her wing and helps him through a difficult time in his development. When his Guardian, Osias Aron, comes to retrieve him from their master, she never guessed that she would be brought along for the ride, or that she would find her new owner a man after her own heart. And body. After an attack that leaves her brutalized and near death, Osias must come to grips with his inability to protect her from the danger that traveled with them, and his lust to have her back in his arms again. Their arrival on his homeworld takes matters out of his hands.

With Miranda ensconced in the Women’s Aerie on Jela, Osias is honour bound to engage in his race’s customs and practices to win his lady. If only someone else wasn’t using those rules to cheat Osias of Miranda’s time, everything would go much more smoothly. When a Leap of Faith isn’t just a euphemism, Miranda will have to put her life in the hands of the one she loves. Let’s just hope the right guy shows up…on time.

Left for dead by her Alliance team, Miranda Kenzic lay among the dead and dying, hearing and feeling their pain. As an empathic healer, she was part of the team that came to help, but she was attacked by one of her own people and left to die or be captured. And captured she was, by slave raiders, and taken to be sold. She is bought by Kimn, who resembled nothing more than a blob of green jelly. When Kimn acquires Myrik, a young Enjel male, Miranda is assigned to care for him. He chills easily, and she warms him by being close to him.

The Enjel race is one that is beautiful, graceful and strong, and is the basis for the Terran term of angel. They are tall, with graceful wings and beautiful hearts as well. When Myrik’s people learn of his location, an envoy is sent to buy his freedom and bring him home. He refuses to leave Miranda, so Osias Aron takes them both. Can Miranda free herself from her Alliance ties? Can Osias win her heart and convince her to take the Leap of Faith with him?

Viola Grace writes heartfelt stories of love and passion. Guardian Enjel is one of new beginnings, betrayals and rebirth of a sort. Miranda is, at first, a victim, left for dead. But she is strong, a survivor, and she does what it takes to be safe. At first, Myrik seems such a harmless sort, but when he becomes uncontrolled and injures Miranda, Osias becomes her protector. I love how Miranda stands up for what she believes in, and I laughed at one of the side effects of her healing after her injuries at Myrik’s hands. I can just imagine how frustrating it could be to want the man you love to be with you, when your virginity has been restored and you must follow the courting process of another race. Osias is a strong man, but tender and gentle when it comes to Miranda and her feelings. He wants to court her, but hates that he has to compete for what he wants.

Ms. Grace always has the most enjoyable characters in her stories, and I fell in love with all of the Enjel people. When Osias and Miranda are betrayed, it takes the Leap of Faith to save them both. Theirs is a very hard one happy ever after, but it is well worth the reading. I would love to see more of the Enjel’s in the future.

One warning: there is one scene of extreme violence between Miranda and Myrik, and it is not for the faint of heart. I do recommend this for those who want a great reading experience and can get past one brutal scene. This one will make you cry, but it will make you laugh out loud as well.
