Jack is smart. Jack is charming. Jack is persistent.

But Melissa is dead certain that he isn’t the guy for her. In a moment of weakness caused by his shiver-inducing voice, Melissa finally agrees to one date. She shows up on his doorstep determined to get it over and done with, but Jack has something different planned. With a home-cooked meal, wine, and cinnamon-scented candles, can he break down Melissa’s resolve?

Can he steal her heart?

Jack and Melissa are co-workers and Jack has been very persistent in pursuing Melissa for a date. Though she’s repeatedly turned him down, eventually Jack catches her in a weak moment and she agrees to go to his place for dinner.

Jack romances her very well after having planned the date over and over again in his dreams. Melissa is about to find out exactly what he has been dreaming.

Though I liked this story it didn’t have enough back story to help me understand the heroine’s motivation. The beginning leaves you wondering why Melissa went to his house at all instead of just standing Jack up. It was kind of excruciating waiting for her heart to melt towards him — and melt, it should! Jack seduced her and did an excellent job of it, seducing me at the same time. Jack was wonderful; he knew what he wanted and he went after it. He was very sensual and giving — every romance reader’s idea of a wonderful hero.

The story hit its stride in the middle, getting hot and sexy. After that, the story flowed smoother and the characters came alive. If you stick with it through the beginning, you’ll get your reward, because what it lacks in plot it makes up for in heat.

I recommend this read to those looking for a quick, steamy and stimulating read.
