Ms. March’s writing shines during their sexual encounters. The level of heat between these two had me hoping fervently that my desk would not erupt in flames. Vincent is the Alpha Oliver so desperately needs, knowing how far to push him and when to be tender, while Oliver’s willing submission exudes such naked eroticism one begins to wonder at times who’s truly in control.

The simple plot, Vincent’s father tries to force him into a marriage he does not want, Oliver misunderstands the whole situation, is perhaps a bit on the thin side and too easily resolved, but in this case, the lack of complexity did not detract from the story for me, a rare find indeed. I adored the main characters far too much-their interactions and conversations rang true, their own complex natures and inner torments kept my attention. Seized it, actually. I couldn’t stop reading this one.
