The Winchester Witches are three generations of funny ladies who are continuously involved in solving mysteries both magical and criminal. The matriarch of the family is Aunt Tilly, a wacky lady of 82 years who always seems to get her own way, sometimes by casting spells on her grand nieces, but mostly by wearing the most outrageous clothes for her age. The girls are never sure when they wake up whether their clothes will fit, a mustache has grown overnight or they might even smell of bacon.
The middle generation are kitchen witches which mean they are fantastic cooks, and these three ladies each have one daughter. The daughters are earth witches, and Bay – the narrator of the books – can also see ghosts. I have to say even the ghosts are funny in these stories.
I got very irritated when I had to put down this book to go and do something else. The stories are well written, captivating and full of intrigue. The romance comes from the three youngest witches and their boyfriends. I felt really sorry for the men as they had to put up with the arguments and revenge spell casting of the three girls and Aunt Tilly.
There are three books inside the covers of You Witch and they follow on from one another but each one stands alone as well. Well worth the read especially if you want a good laugh along with a good read.
