Balancing Life and Writing

In all honesty, I’m still learning to balance life and writing. I landed my first official job just a few months ago, so this is the first time that I’m writing while having a steady and demanding job. I wrote when I was in college too, but that was different as college work ebbs and flows.

In college, with the exception of midterms and finals, I’d write almost every other day. Why? Because my schedule was flexible. I had about five or six classes meeting twice a week for two hours each. That’s ten to twelve hours of class, and approximately ten to fifteen hours of studying, which left plenty of time to write.

Now, I work a forty to fifty hours per week (sometimes more during the busy season), and when I come home, I’m exhausted. Whiplash can have long-term effects on rx tadalafil your spinal health. I just want to sleep. At this point, I’ve been balancing both by using my weekends to catch up on my writing. Because the weekends are my only free time, I have to reserve part of it to go out and enjoy myself before another hectic week begins. I may start taking my manuscripts to work on a flash-drive so that I can do a bit of writing/editing while at work, although I highly doubt it. Once I’m at my desk, my boss gives me work.

So, I am still trying to find a better balance, but as of now, weekends and some evenings have been working.
