I am certain the writing style also helped recruit me into being a baseball fan. The story started with an author’s note for the reader telling us that Finn has two brothers and to “stay tuned for two more books as they each get their happily ever after.” This was my first Robin Bielman book and I guarantee it won’t be my last. The author’s note says, all three Auprince brother’s have stolen her heart and that she hopes that they’d steal mine too. Well, I wish I could say that I’ll be faithful to Finn as my book boyfriend but if his brothers are as equally well written as Finn was then I’m looking at two more book boyfriends in my future. I adored Finn for his humble personality despite being a famous baseball player. I also respected his love for his family.

This book had a little bit everything that kept it flowing smoothly and kept me entertained from beginning to end. The heroine, Chloe Conrad, gets the credit for making this story a heartwarming, unpredictable and fun read. She was my favorite kind of heroine. Smart, witty and independent with a touch of vulnerability.

Together, Finn and Chloe make for an unforgettable romance with a lasting book glow lasting hours after the book ended. I just couldn’t get the smile off my face. I loved the element of competition between them. Without giving any spoilers I can only say that this was a great book! I definitely would read it again and would suggest others to put it on their must read list.

I thought it was an entertaining read as I read about how Eleanor, the heroine, goes into hiding in a tiny remote town. I was intrigued when I read the synopsis. I wasn’t disappointed at all as I dove into the story and discovered an engaging plot. I thought it was funny when the hero, Tyson, met Eleanor. It was an immediate love at first sight for all of us. I have a soft spot for a man in uniform.

Eleanor’s secrets brought about a bit of mystery that created a sense of suspense. Tyson knew she was hiding something. The story line was pretty predictable but I enjoyed the descriptive writing style. Something else that I appreciated was the character development. Tyson has two brothers that I’m interested in reading about. Fortunately for me Going Down is book one in the Hold out for a Hero series.

The ending was satisfying, especially since Tyson and Eleanor had their happily ever after. The ending of the book hooked me with a sense of curiosity which made me wonder about the the next installment in the series. Because of it, I am interested in reading book two.

This is a fun romance filled with chemistry that made for a steamy car ride for me. This was my first Shelli Stevens book and it won’t be my last. This is a book I recommend.

The things that make the hero happy are his brothers, running his club, being a volunteer firefighter and helping to take care of Theo, his Captain’s son. Nik and Frankie meet when the hero brings a stray, wounded dog he rescued from a fire. They are instantly attracted to each other and the hero tries different ways to capitalize on that attraction. The heroine isn’t exactly taking the bait. That is until he discovers the perfect plan, and their tumultuous romance begins.

Their lovemaking is hot and their conversations intelligent but their relationship is not exactly smooth. They both have difficult histories to get past. Complicating things further, there is a subplot about a missing brother compounded by some not so great decisions on Nik’s part. The secondary characters, Allison and Theo, are also important to the story. Ultimately, it’s Allison who steps up to calm the troubled waters.

I loved the plot and the characters. It showed me that trust is one of the most important things in a relationship and talking things out before things get too bad is important. Nik is stubborn and confident in himself, but he carries a ton of guilt with him. On top of that pain is the trauma of being jilted by his childhood sweetheart. I could feel his sorrow when he realized a difficult truth. A very poignant scene that affected me was what Nik and his brothers do to honor their missing brother when they get together for drinks.

Misunderstandings and suspicions are all over the place and cause a lot of issues for the heroine; an especially easy thing to do with a manipulative secondary character who has designs on the hero. Nik has trust issues too and the author clearly shows his insecurity and how it contributes to my wondering if there would be a happy ending.

The Greek’s Bedroom Bargain teaches about forgiveness and to live life in the present and not the past. I enjoyed reading this and recommend it to other readers.

The period is well described and I felt like I was standing in the old era watching what was going on. I felt the motion of the ship, the sun and water on my face and the confusion of trying to learn a new culture. The characters are all different and wonderfully described. I enjoyed the characters of Jacob and a young man named Arnie. Jacob treated Gabrielle like a father, giving her information behind his captains back and helping her adjust to the world she has been thrown into. Young Arnie had lost his leg in the battle, and Gabrielle is the only one that he will talk to. She shows a great deal of mothering abilities, staying with him and helping him to learn that it is not the end of the world that he lost his leg.

It was also fun watching Gabrielle deal with the nobility.  At her first social gathering, a dinner, men were giving her a hard time about her attitude and boldness. She did a magnificent job of defending herself and also proving to the men that a woman can be as smart as a man. She challenges the societal norms all the time. For example, she dressed herself one day because she did not want tot wake up the servants. Another one was when she walked down to the beach by herself to play in the water, not realizing that she needed an escort everywhere she went. Yet her beauty, poise, and wit seems to break down the wall between her and the men.

While things won’t always be perfect and there are obstacles, the fun is finding out how the characters deal with such things.

A wonderful book full of great characters, sea-voyages, historical detail and a wonderful plot. I couldn’t find a thing I would change. I hope you will pick this up and get lost in a romance for all times.

They often made me laugh out loud especially the conversation between Annamae’s mother and grandmother outside the hoedown dance. The relationship between the main characters, Annamae and Wynn, progressed nicely with little conflict and made me feel all warm and fuzzy. I wouldn’t mind getting involved with a man like that. I particularly enjoyed their easy banter with each other.

I thought the plot was a bit predictable and a tad unrealistic but the characters made me look past all that. The suspense of Annamae and Wynn hiding out for different reasons kept me turning pages. The happy ending left me feeling overall satisfied. It was nice to read a romance book that didn’t stir any anguished feelings or over the top drama.

There were two external conflicts that haunted Annamae and Wynn individually that for the most part, worked. The final confrontation from Wynn’s plot arc was a bit anticlimactic because it didn’t deliver what the story led me to believe would happen. Even though It didn’t meet my expectations, it was no less entertaining.

On the whole, The Wedding Audition was delightfully cheesy, really funny and was well written. It’s a nice, simple, perhaps cookie cutter type plot, but it’s an enjoyable story to escape into. I was delighted by the chemistry between Annamae and Wynn and was happy with the conclusion of their romance.

That leads to a several situations where I was able to witness the hurt and pain that both of them have been carrying, though Leda’s is more recent compared to Eric’s.

The only detail that felt off about this short story was that the character details need a little bit more polishing. That being said, the plot is quite simple but effective combined with writing skills of Ms. Snopek.

This is a sweet story with a mouthy mama and an arrogant cowboy. He wants to be her white knight but this damsel is pretty self-sufficient. Readers who enjoy their heroines with some spunk and their cowboys with heart should give this one a try.

Of course, it is the characters who evoke the sweetness readers will savor. Tully, introduced first, is acting as her mother’s mainstay, sweetly reassuring her, even though she has her own concerns. I have hope, though, and the hopes grow as the story carries on. But…

Every character seems to have secrets, or suspect others of having their own. Secrets might not be awful, but they get in the way:  of people, relationships, and trust. Charles, Uncle David, even her mom are important and meaningfully deep secondary characters. Sugar Morgan is somehow, someone more. Characters truly are at the center of this charming romance. Still, it IS a romance, and no matter the things between them, I continue to have hope for the main couple throughout.

The Sweetest Thing is nicely written, if occasionally wordy. Author Darcy it seems, won’t have readers overlook a detail, so perhaps too thoroughly explains points, or must include one more adjective than necessary. The wordiness occasionally slows the pace, but by no means disturbs the wonderful tenor of the story.

And I must note: I love the ‘candy’ themed cover of The Sweetest Thing. Perfectly appropriate!
