What does it take for Valentine’s-Day-hating Bryan Colby to discover that he really loves it? Meeting Officer Ben Collins, of course.

Bryan Colby doesn’t like Valentine’s Day. Despite being told by his close friends that he’s silly to fester over something that happened five years ago, he just can’t get excited as yet another Valentine’s Day approaches.

Bryan, a rising star at the local real estate office, prefers to work instead, but is assaulted while showing a vacant property. In the ambulance, he meets Officer Ben Collins and Bryan wastes no time in letting Ben know he finds him attractive and would like to get better acquainted with him, in every possible way.

At first wary of Bryan’s flirty, come-hither attitude, Ben eventually warms to Bryan’s charm, and agrees to meet him for a coffee. But circumstances outside their control change that date to a much more sensual meeting.

After all, it is Valentine’s Day week, and romance is most definitely in the air…

Hesitation does not last long in J.P. Bowie’s Valentine’s Day Blues. When I tell you that reading this novel flew by, I mean it boarded a plane at noon and arrived at 12:10 p.m. This might be due in part to the bold and incorrigible main character Bryan Colby, a man who has sworn off Valentine’s Day, but drops lines smoother than creamy peanut butter. This does not go unnoticed by our slightly more cautious romantic interest, Bennet Collins.

After a scary run in with some local car thieves, Bryan is happy to find himself in the care of the one and only Officer Collins. He wastes no time in trying to win his affections, possible closed head injury aside. Though reluctant at first, Ben starts to enjoy Bryan’s very forward nature. The men do a bit of dancing around their personal issues, not wanting to move too fast, but sometimes when you know, you know.

The plot was very fast paced, leading perfectly into those heated moments that the readers anticipated from the characters first meeting. Very loveable side characters made me wish there was more book to really get in the heads of the lives that surround the main characters, but I will say that this sexy little glimpse into Ben and Bryan’s lives was a really great treat, and the perfect length to get that steamy fix.

The sensual scenes were hot, hot, HOT, made even more so by the wonderful open communication between Bryan and Ben. J.P. Bowie absolutely delivered a quick and spicy romance, and gave us all a little more appreciation for surprises on Valentine’s Day.

If you are looking for a quick and sexy feel-good read, then A Little Bit Cupid: Valentine’s Day Blues is the story for you!

The only thing better than riding a cowboy is submitting to one.

On her own for the first time, Skylar Wedgeworth has no idea what to do about it. She’s torn between behaving like the hard-working mom she’s dedicated her life to being…and embracing her fascination with the erotic world of lust and submission she has long put second.

That’s where The Ranch comes in. And with it, Caleb Cash.

The injury that cut short Caleb’s pitching career just before he joined the majors, then his wife walking out on him have made Caleb question everything about himself, and he hasn’t had a partner since.

Until Skylar.

There’s no denying the heat between them when Skylar checks into the erotic lifestyle club Caleb and his six best friends opened in the Montana mountains, but for things to go further than their physical connection, Skylar has to learn how to put herself first and Caleb must be willing to trust a new partner with his heart…

Home Run Cowboy is an endearing and passionate story about two people who have given up on finding love. The plot immediately drew me in and I was transported to The Ranch, where all your erotic dreams can come true. I enjoyed the heat shared between Caleb and Skylar and found it easy to relate to them. They are both down to earth, good people who have been hurt in the past. They are vulnerable, but somehow are able to open their hearts up again. I was invested in their story and wanted everything to work out for them.

Caleb and Skylar meet when Skylar decides to visit The Ranch, owned by Caleb and his friends. Caleb and Skylar are taken by surprise by the instant attraction flowing between them. Unfortunately, they know their relationship can’t last because Skylar lives on the other side of the country. Caleb is also concerned about some unscrupulous people who are trying to force him to sell his land. This adds drama and intrigue to the story, as Caleb tries to discover who is trying to buy up all the property in the area.

What I enjoyed most about this story were the characters. I was invested in them and wanted them to find their HEA. Caleb is a moody cowboy who lost his baseball career when he was injured. Skylar is also feeling discontented with her life. She is a submissive and now that her daughter has gone off to college, she wants to explore this side of herself.

Caleb and Skylar lead full lives, but don’t have anyone they can share it with. Plus, they have particular needs and not everyone understands or has the same interests.

When Caleb and Skylar meet they find it easy to open up to each other and everything just seems to click. If you enjoy hot and spicy stories, be sure to read Home Run Cowboy.

Frank never thought he would find love…until he met his friend’s servant.

It’s 1922 and Frank Harris has finished his exams at Cambridge. He had planned on going home to his parents’ Midlands shop until his friend Charlie Fitzwilliam issues a surprise invitation to stay at his family’s stately home.

Frank has nursed a secret attraction to Charlie since their first meeting and can’t resist a chance to spend time with him, but once there, it’s Tanner, a manservant, with whom he instantly falls in lust.

Charlie tries to force a local girl on Frank, and although Frank knows he should keep up appearances, it’s Tanner who sets a fire in him.

To Frank’s astonishment, Tanner is attracted to him too, and their mutual passion kindles, then burns strong. Only, their feelings must remain a secret—discovery would mean the ruin of them both.

But how long can love that blazes this bright be hidden?

In a time when being gay was illegal, Frank has to hide his affection for his University friend. However, when he spends some time with Charlie at his home, it’s the Under Valet who lights a fire in Frank.

This is a gentle start to a series that gives you a couple of steamy moments, but nothing too shocking. My heart broke for Frank when Charlie kept pushing Annie onto him, and I completely agree with Frank that at least he was admitting who he was, rather than hiding behind a woman’s skirts. Frank kept telling me that Charlie was different, but I only saw occasional glimpses of that.

I would have preferred this to be longer – a full-length novel rather than a novella – but still, it gave me the full story. I just would have wished for more information on Tanner and Frank, both their pasts and their future.

A thoroughly enjoyable book that starts off a series I want to continue. Definitely recommended by me!

Once the opera is complete and Sebastian has been cleared to sing, he books a debut at the prestigious LA Opera House. But this decision releases a Pandora’s box of demons for Jasper that threatens their tentative connection.

The world is at Sebastian’s feet when it all comes crashing down. Just how well do you communicate without a voice?

This was a warm and fuzzy novella with some steamy moments. Not too much is mentioned about the BDSM world in detail, more of a light brushstroke. In fact, not too much is mentioned in detail at all, which usually drives me insane, but it worked here. It really did. Instead of too much bumpf about background detail, I was able to focus on Sebastian and Jasper to my heart’s content. Yes, they both have issues, and yes, maybe I would have liked more information because that’s just what I’m like, but YES, this novella worked and gave me a good, all-round story that brought a big smile to my face.

Although this is classed as book three, I was able to read it without any problems. This is a feel-good steamy romance I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending, and am so thankful I have read it.

Aldric Beamer thought working in an antique shop would be safe and boring. He never expected to find his life—or his heart—in danger…

Being the low man on the totem pole is nothing new for Aldric Beamer. The youngest of three siblings, he was always the afterthought in his family, but Aldric’s trying hard not to let the little confidence he has sink any lower.

Aldric loves the job he manages to land at Intrinsic Value, so much so that he often works off the clock—or maybe he just doesn’t want to go home to his empty apartment. Just as he’s slowly learning to trust his boss and co-workers, he’s attacked outside the store, and all the security he thought he had vanishes with the force of a blow to the head.

San Antonio cop Darrell Williams takes one look at the beautiful, bruised man he finds in a dingy alley behind an antique store, and something in his heart melts. This weakness scares him, making Darrell gruff and indifferent when he should have been—and longs to be—compassionate and caring.

Aldric’s no pushover, though. He’s had enough of being ignored and treated like he doesn’t matter as much as everyone else. And he’ll make damn sure Patrol Officer Williams doesn’t dismiss him, in any way…

What should have been an easy job turns into a life-threatening mystery for Aldric.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book – from seeing Aldric’s tentative and insecure beginnings at Intrinsic Value, to seeing his self-confidence and self-worth come out. He is a strong character that grows throughout the book. Darrell is the opposite – he looks strong but is so far inside the closet, he can see Narnia. Together, these two work perfectly. Now, I just need to know more about Elliot and Jonas!

The writing style is smooth, and the pace is perfect. Although this is the first book in the series, you don’t get a big info-dump on anyone or anything. I would have liked to have known a bit more about the families of both the main characters, but enough is inferred for me to figure most of it out.

This was a fun and sassy read that I have no hesitation in recommending. An excellent start and I can’t wait to read more in this series.

I enjoyed this book, the first one by this author I have read. Her writing style is smooth, and it is evenly paced out. The only problem I had was the constant back and forth between Nick and Claire. It felt like just a bit too much for me, although I am sure I will be in the minority with that opinion. I like having some angst in the stories I read, but this one felt a little like a pendulum. I guess that makes it authentic?!

All in all, this was a great read. This is the third book in the series so now I really want to read books one and two. If you enjoy contemporary romance, then I can absolutely recommend this book.

I have many thoughts about One Motion More and the first thought that comes to mind is A+ for originality. I genuinely appreciate a book that includes social inclusion. I’ve never read a story where the main character, who in this case is the heroine, Natalie, is disabled. She can’t speak. I was intrigued to find out how Natalie and the hero, Xander, overcome the language barrier. Especially considering Xander is a rock star. I agree with the synopsis when it says they make an unlikely couple. That is why I needed to find out how they’d find their Happily Ever After.

I am familiar with the deaf culture after living near the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) in St. Augustine, FL for several years. I appreciate how the author accurately described Natalie’s world.

One Motion More started off capturing my attention immediately and held my interest throughout the well-paced book. I felt the characters were well developed and I enjoyed meeting each one. I am looking forward to book two being released.

Regarding the relationship and chemistry between Xander and Natalie, I had moments of joy and frustration. Xander was a bit too selfish for my taste and Natalie was a bit too forgiving for me. However, it all worked out in the end. They definitely were attracted to each other and I was pleased with the epilogue. It left me satisfied with their Happily Ever After.

One Motion More was a good read for me.

This is the second book in the series, but I don’t feel like you HAVE to have read book one for it all to make sense. There are also snippets that I hope are for future books, all designed to tease and tantalize.

This is a light, contemporary romance, but with enough depth and suspense to make it a good romantic suspense book too. The writing is smoothly paced, with characters you get to know and like as the story progresses.

This story is wrapped up nicely for our characters with a promising HFN, surely leading to a HEA. Based on this book, I would love to read book one, and I can’t wait for Clothilde and Mark’s book! Definitely recommended by me.

Veronica’s new job comes with a darling little boy, a Gothic castle and…a beast?

When recently laid-off Francophile Veronica Carson is recommended for an au pair job by the elegant leader of her French conversation group, she isn’t sure what to expect—but a Gothic castle deep in the wilds of Maine is certainly not it. Still, she’s drawn in by her joyful little charge, Jean-Philippe, and even more drawn to his brooding father.

Ruthlessly successful businessman Alain Reynard has loved before and has no wish to repeat the painful experience. The tragedy of his recent past is still fresh in his mind, and he wants nothing to do with his son’s lovely new au pair. Despite his best efforts, though, he can’t seem to get her off his mind.

Veronica must decide if Alain really is a beast and, if so, whether she can love him enough to break through the dark memories and secrets that tether him to what once was.

Veronica Carson is a young woman who was laid off from her former job. Yet with a referral from an older lady in her French circle, she’s lucky enough to be offered an au pair job to a sweet young boy and his rather formidable, rich father who has many secrets in his background. This may be a plot that has been used many times over, but I like the way the author has developed such wonderful characters and how just one person can change the life of many just by being herself.

I love the character of Veronica who is well developed with an extremely open personality and a warmth that envelops all around her. Watching her with her charge, Jean-Philippe, warmed my heart. I had to laugh at his exuberance and energy, he is interested in learning anything and everything she can teach him with open curiosity and sweetness. She is a perfect fit for him, loving to have all the adventures he could wish, and I have no idea how she keeps up with him. Just reading about it makes me exhausted.

Alain is a remarkably interesting character that has so many secrets and distrust everyone but his son and family members. He hired Veronica on the spot when he saw just how wonderful she interacted with his son, being able to put up with all his chatter with humor.

Once their intimate relationship started, she saw the softer side of him and the incredibly sweet and hot lover. She was surprised at how careful and understanding he was when she admitted that she was a virgin, he also was a little possessive. She never expected him to return her feelings and she kept telling herself that he was her employer and that it wasn’t professional. Yet, when they gave into their own lust, everything else left her brain.

I liked this story and am very glad I picked it up. Recommended.
